"At the crack of dawn, when his punk colleagues crawl from parties back to their dwellings, Andrej wakes up to deliver his sourdough, traditional baguettes, focaccias and other kinds of bread. Taking the best of socialism into capitalism, the bakery is open only from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. If you fancy having some crusty bread, sourdough or just having a little chat with the baker, drop in." - Multipraktik

Ljubljana Is Capturing the Attention of Food Lovers Everywhere—Here’s Where to Go
"For breakfast swing by Pekarna Osem, easily spotted by its distinctive figure-eight shop sign (osem means eight and pekarna means bakery in Slovenian) to pick up sourdough loaves fermented for up to 16 hours."
The pastries and bread are 10 out of 10. The croissants are on par with French ones. The atmosphere is authentic. You can watch the bakers making bread, which adds to the charm. Prices are above average.

I had chocolate swirl (Danish… - don’t remember exactly the name) which was amazing! It was like mix between French pastry and something else, chocolate (between dark and milk) was perfectly matching, was crispy and delicious.
I had also kind of baguette with cheese which was good but nothing wow like that chocolate thing.

Unfortunately by around 10am croissants were already gone but had great bread with chocolate, I'm just a home baker but can tell that every product looked extremely well made

This place was recommended to me as the best bakery in Ljubljana. I didn't visit many bakeries so I cannot attest to it being the best, but what I can say is the two baked items I got were damn tasty! I had high expectations and even then they were exceeded. I got a pastry that was a bread with fresh tomatoes and herbs in it and a swirl looking pastry that had some kind of glaze and nuts and raisins(?). It is hard to articulate but the bread is just baked perfectly with an amazing texture of both the crust and interior. These pastries were some of the best food I have eaten.

EXCELLENT bakery! The best bread and viennoiserie we have had throughout our trip in Slovenia and Croatia. So delicious and will definitely be back !

Very good bread, and very good Croissant. Like in France.
Foucas great, the baguettes look great but are quickly sold out. Come early!

Best bakery in Ljubljana. Perkarna Ana has some great specialties but this is where we shopped. Six months in and we still ate there almost everyday. Sourdough is the star and the rotating pastries are great too. Shop early as they run out, esp on Saturdays. Only complaint is that there is no merch!

Walking thru Stari trg, this lovely bakery is easily found by using your nose. Friendly and helpful staff and a large variety of (small) bread.
Very tasteful, highly recommend!
