Once, this place was a marketsquare in Munich. Then, at some point in the 19th century, the current building was erected: downstairs, it stayed a covered market, and upstairs became a primary school. And now, downstairs is a brasserie and upstairs are some literature related companies. The location is great: just behind the Theatinerkirche of which you see a baroque tower rising above a house across the street, next to the oldest church in the centre of town. Yet, the street is surprisingly quiet.
Between the pillars of the once-market are now large windows that let in a lot of light. You can have breakfast, a light lunch, a cake with tea in the afternoon and even dinner here. Read a book or a newspaper (there are quite a few, even the IHT) or watch the world go by. Nice fashionable crowd.
And the barman manages to draw a heart in the latte..
