We had high expectations for Oskar Maria, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The restaurant seems to try to offer a bit of everything (French/Italian/German?), which leads to a lack of clear focus. The place is obviously trendy, as it was quite crowded, and as a result, the service was noticeably slow and somewhat inattentive.
As for the food, it was just okay — nothing particularly memorable. We ordered oysters that were surprisingly tiny, scallops that were overwhelmed by too much oil, and a chicken dish that was okay.
Overall, Oskar Maria didn’t live up to the hype for us. It feels like the restaurant is spread too thin, and the quality suffers because of it. A disappointing visit given the buzz around the place.
