Experience Oslo like a local. Many locals buy a membership. You can reserve a private sauna or just drop-in to use the communal areas. There are showers, horse troughs you can use to dunk yourself, decks to sunbathe, and changing rooms. The Nordic way is to take a shower, go in the sauna and get sweaty, then jump into the ocean. Repeat three times for maximum health benefits. Everyone is wearing bathing suits. The views of the harbor are magnificent. Photos are of the saunas and one of the sunbathing decks. Make sure you bring water to drink and a towel. There are food kiosks near by if you want ice cream or something else. No alcohol allowed.

Really awesome! Bathing in the cold Fjord, taking a quick shower and then jump into a gorgeous wood sauna that floats on the water! You have changing rooms and drinking water and can add fire wood or water steam as you like. Note that it is a mixed (though dressed) sauna, but you can also rent a whole sauna for you or your group.

Right in the centre of Oslo, the wooden saunas overlooking the National Opera House are something incredible! The smell of burning wood, women with bathing suits in March and modern architecture made of glass and steel - only possible in Norway.

Unique experience that was somehow equally as peaceful as it was thrilling. Great views of the opera house and a variety of saunas (ranging in temperature, vibe, size, etc.) - some have better views of the opera house than others. Jumping in the frigid fjord was invigorating! And particularly refreshing after sweating it out in the sauna. Not many places to get this experience - especially so authentically and natural to the area - so highly recommend if visiting Oslo. Good amenities including shower, changing rooms, and lockers. Just few things to keep in mind: - bring two towels (one to sit on, one to dry off), water to rehydrate, and a lock if you want to lock your stuff away. - changing rooms are unisex, slightly cramped, and at times crowded. It's not so much that I felt uncomfortable going in, but moreso that I wondered if I would make others uncomfortable by going in. It was still a great all-around experience, but if I had to pick one thing to improve on, it would be to make the changing rooms bigger and/or more comfortable

If you're looking for a unique and invigorating experience in Oslo, Oslo Badstuforening sauna is a fantastic choice! Situated right on the waterfront, it offers the perfect blend of relaxation, breathtaking views, and a touch of adventure with a dip in the cold fjord waters. The facilities are impeccably maintained, with a minimalist yet cozy Scandinavian design. The saunas themselves are well-heated, spacious, and provide a welcoming environment for visitors of all levels of experience. One unique feature to note is the mixed-gender changing rooms, which are handled with respect and discretion. For those unfamiliar, it’s a good idea to come prepared with your swimwear underneath or in a towel for added comfort. Cooling off in the icy fjord after a sauna session is an unforgettable experience, leaving you feeling both energized and serene. The friendly and professional staff ensures you have everything you need and offers helpful guidance, particularly for first-timers. With a variety of sauna styles, from traditional wood-fired to modern designs, there’s something for everyone here. The location is tranquil yet central, making it an easy addition to your Oslo itinerary. Do book ahead, as it’s a popular spot, especially on weekends. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, a social experience, or a chance to try something new, Oslo Badstuforening is an exceptional destination. Rating: ★★★★★

We had an amazing and hot experience here during a beautiful sunset looking at the opera house. Didn't feel stressful at all as others pointed out. The views onto the Fjord are great, as well as having a refreshing dip after each sauna set. It was really scorching hot though compared to what I am used to from German saunas. Not a negative, just different 😅

Loved this sauna! Excellent location for both the views and the convenience. Multiple shared sauna options to bounce between (including a fragrance free one and a silent one!), fresh drinking water provided, and nice changing areas with small lockers. Absolutely enjoyed every second and wish I could go back daily.

Very Hot ‘n steamy sauna experience in a great location with a nicer shower, fjord plunge, and a view of the Opera concrete walking mall. Note that the people walking on the opera place often look at you and take pictures. I image they are very jealous because the sauna was hot, the water was cold, and this was a top notch “norwegian” experience. I’m satisfied that I chose this instead of some boring museum!
