Ostello Bello Grande

I wouldn’t recommend this hostel for solo travelers. It’s a bit more expensive, likely due to the central location, but there are more welcoming and better-maintained options nearby, like Yellowsquare. The main concern for me was cleanliness. The bathroom didn’t feel very clean, and there was noticeable humidity and odor, which made the stay uncomfortable. The bed also wasn’t the most comfortable. The bar area seemed popular with locals, but it wasn’t really the best place to meet other travelers. At night, there was noise and cigarette smell coming into the room from outside, since locals hang out right by the rooms on the street. The funny part is there are signs on the wall that say “please be quiet” which definitely didn’t match the reality. If you’re looking for a friendly, social environment and cleaner facilities, I’d recommend saving a bit and choosing a more traveler-focused hostel where guests and locals can genuinely mingle and feel comfortable.

Perfect location just steps from Milano Centrale Station make us easy to go around everywhere in Milan, and close to main eateries. Rooms and service quite standard but for me the most important it is clean. If it is just a place to sleep it is a nice place. Anyway it is an ostello not a starred hotels. To good value for money I would say.

I visited this place not expecting much but this is a trend setter hostel. Vibrant activities in the evenings, board games, a lovely terrace, a fully equipped kitchen along with free veggies and pasta to cook a meal, a games room, a fully functional bar and lots of other little perks. They also provide free eye masks and earplugs. Very affordable, responsive front desk and secure facility. Impressed. Good job to the Ostello Bello team. 👍

I don't know if it's because I came in October, but I would not recommend this hostel to solo travelers. The social activities were often different than the schedule, the bar is almost always completely packed with locals (good for them, but terrible for socializing as a traveler), and the scant few people I ran into in the common spaces were quite often families or groups of older people. Also, the other guests in my room often arrived late at night and left before check-out the next morning, so there was little socializing to do there. The facilities are nice enough - lots of common spaces (even if they're not great for socializing), kitchen has free food but not always the cleanest or most up-to-date. The mattresses in the rooms are a bit springy, and the bunks have no curtains, but the room and bathroom are otherwise relatively spacious. The location is convenient if you're taking the train in and out of the city, but it's less convenient for sightseeing, and the neighborhood is not the best. It's a fine hostel, but solo travelers beware. I've had a much better time staying at another Ostello Bello location.

I had an amazing stay at Ostello Bello Grande! The location is unbeatable — just a few steps from Milano Centrale train station, making it perfect for early trains, late arrivals, or exploring the city. The hostel is safe, clean, and well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home.The staff are friendly, helpful, and always ready to give great tips about Milan. The communal areas are cozy and lively, perfect for meeting other travelers. I loved the little extras they offer — from free pasta in the kitchen to social activities that make connecting with people easy.The value for money is fantastic considering the location and amenities. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, this is the ideal place to stay in Milan. I can honestly say it was a 10/10 experience, and I would definitely come back!

The stay at Ostello Bello Grande was simply great! I was there with a few friends for F1 so we were looking for something close to the city center that would also allow us to move to Monza quickly. The Hostel has a wonderful environment and the 24/7 bar was our favorite thing! The staff is nice and helpful and the rooms were clean. Since we were in during the F1 weekend, the prices were a bit high, especially for a Hostel - but hey, supply and demand. I imagine the prices are better during a normal weekend.

For a Hostel that has some private bathrooms, this a very good one. Can't beat the location - literally less than a 4 min walk from Central Train Station in Milan. Svc is ok, but hard to hear when bands or music is being played in the restaurant section, and pay for a continental bkfst where one rcvs red plastic discs to show the bkfst staff that you have paid, and they give one plate and one shallow bowl per couple - you can ask for a cereal bowl and they will give it. I guess this is so they don't have to wash so many dishes. You can make meat and cheese sandwiches with cucumbers, and they have whole fruit that you can get - bananas, pears, apples, oranges - I guess whatever is in season. The room was large enuf with a desk, two chairs, suitcase holder, 2 twin beds that were comfortable and firm like we like it, and the bathroom had a bidet and nice size shower with a door, so that water doesn't go everywhere like some baths in Europe do. Lots of restaurants and shopping around if the latter is what u want to do. We took Day trips to lake Como and other beautiful places to see and walk around. We stayed there to be close to the station, which met our needs.

even though we only stayed here for one night, the atmosphere was incredible! we would have stayed longer if we could! the place is so nicely decorated and the rooms are very comfortable. so many fun activities each night where you can meet new people and make friends. the staff are so friendly and approachable and made us feel so welcome during our stay (shoutout to Julio at the bar who served us a free round of shots, what a legend) highly recommend staying in this hostel, we will be returning!

I can't rave about Ostello Bello enough!! This was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was such a great experience. The staff was very nice. 24/7 bar was great. The entire hostel was very clean. I will 10000% be staying here next time I am in Milano

I won't get into what happened, but I just have to say that Ava is an angel. This is a friendly, clean hostel with a lovely staff and good rooms. Be mindful of your surroundings if you are a female solo traveler in this particular part of Milan but the hostel itself is good

Really great option for staying overnight and as a cheaper affordable hostel. Very convenient near the train station. Environment was very lively when my roommates and I arrived and gave us a free welcome drink as we came in. Very good security and the rooms are very clean! The elevators and staircases need your room key to access it. Also the foosball is very fun in the "Chill Room".

(I'm a 24 year-old guy from the US) Stayed here for 2 nights with my brother in a 6-person mixed dorm. The rooms are basic, with two 3-level bunk beds, and a small bathroom. The beds and linens I had were clean and didn't show any stains. We had a full room (even in November!) but everyone was nice and respectful. The showers were small but the water pressure was great. Overall, it was a clean and basic room setup. The Hostel is located extremely close to Milano Centrale and its Metro station which makes getting around very easy. They have fun activities every night (Karaoke was a party!) plus breakfast and dinner and a full bar. The food isn't amazing, but it's food and it's free, so what more does a penniless traveler need? We made great friends from other countries here, which was honestly the best part. People come to the main room and terraces to drink and socialize, so it is very easy to make new friends. If I'm ever back in Milan I will absolutely be staying here again. Can't say enough good things about Ostello Bello Grande!

This place is dope! I've spent years in the hospitality business and this was the BEST check in experience I have ever seen! We were greeted with a free drink of choice, given a tour of the place and told about the place from the Amazing staff! Very clean and an over all great experience!

Atmosphere: amazing. everyone is friendly and having a gr eat time. Easy to make friends. Staff: Very very nice people that give you answer all your questions and try to help you out as much as possible. Accessibility: 2 minute walk from central station and there's a bus that comes straight from Malpanesa airport. Food: Free dinner and breakfast. Lenient time slot (7~12/19~21). Breakfast doesn't taste too good though. (eggs are like plastic) Wifi: disconnects from time to time, but good overall Etc.: Laundry is expensive as shit (7 euros). There's a rooftop and basement to chill at. Lots of board games and game consoles. Foosball and small pool table. Piano and guitars on first floor. Rooms are nice to sleep in. Lock, pocket wifi, ipad, modem, laptop are all available to borrow. Bar is a bit expensive but the beer is good. Free water and coffee anytime.

Congratulations. Your search for a hostel in Milan is over! Just go ahead a reserve a bed/room right now because you're not gonna find a better deal than Ostello Bello. ;) Trust me, OB is the place to be but if you still need convincing, here's my testimony: My train from Venice was 2 hours delayed therefore causing me to miss my connection and stranding me in Milan for the night so I had to find a bed last minute. Ostello Bello to the rescue! It's mere steps from the Milano Centrale train station (and Metro and busses) and I was immediately welcomed with a cappuccino and nonstop smiles from the staff. This hostel is clean, comfortable and all-inclusive: free towels, linens, breakfast, dinner, snacks, great wifi, maps, advice... I only wish there was a little more space between bunk beds because it was too low for me to sit upright and I checked out today with a little knot on my head. Either that or start including free helmets at check-in. :P It's an eclectic mix of guests so just hope that you don't get put in a room with a couple of drunk douchebags who stumble in at 4AM and turn on all the lights. (Not blaming OB for this because it happens everywhere but it's still annoying.) You might enjoy the hostel more than the city itself. At least I did.

Great location; less than 10 minutes from Milano Central and taxi stand. Offers a buffet dinner between 7 and 9 pm. After initial check in, daily housekeeping was great.Histiric elevator but not more than 2 people with luggage at a time and copious stairs.

This place is nice and close to the train station. It is easy to get around everywhere. The service is great! The hotel offers free breakfast as well .

The new and bigger hostel from the same owners. They were opened 3 weeks ago when I visited them but still everything looked perfect to me. They like to chat with you like real Italians :) It might be a little pricy for a hostel but the place has a soul and you don't feel like you're in a hostel at all. Go there, stay there while you're in Milan and you will wish they would have Ostello Bello's all over the Europe.

Such a nice hostel! They give you a welcome drink when you check in, and the bar area is filled with people talking and GOOD music playing! Their breakfast was free and very good as well. Only stayed one night in Milan but wish I stayed more so I could stay here longer!

I was at the hostel for one night, truly the best hostel I ever stayed in. So organized, food is served, bar is open 24 hours. Amazing stuff and much much more! Highly recommend!
