I wouldn’t recommend this hostel for solo travelers. It’s a bit more expensive, likely due to the central location, but there are more welcoming and better-maintained options nearby, like Yellowsquare.
The main concern for me was cleanliness. The bathroom didn’t feel very clean, and there was noticeable humidity and odor, which made the stay uncomfortable. The bed also wasn’t the most comfortable.
The bar area seemed popular with locals, but it wasn’t really the best place to meet other travelers. At night, there was noise and cigarette smell coming into the room from outside, since locals hang out right by the rooms on the street. The funny part is there are signs on the wall that say “please be quiet” which definitely didn’t match the reality.
If you’re looking for a friendly, social environment and cleaner facilities, I’d recommend saving a bit and choosing a more traveler-focused hostel where guests and locals can genuinely mingle and feel comfortable.
