Ostello Bello Lake Como

The hostel was a good walking distance from the ferry port and the train station, which made it super convenient to get around. The staff was very friendly and helpful in making sure we had everything we needed, and the room seemed to be kept clean. We also appreciated getting upgraded to a five-person dorm instead of the six-person dorm we had initially booked. Overall, we had a great experience!

I only spent one night at this hostel but I had a great stay. Since the atmosphere is super social, it was easy to meet new people there. The rooms are clean. They offer the possibility to lock your luggage there after checking out. It's close to the old town, the port, train station and supermarket. I would recommend this hostel to everyone who visits Como and likes to meet new people!

Perfect for solo travelers. A very sociable Hostel. This is what every hostel should be like. They host activities every night so it’s very easy to meet new people. Also locals go to the bar here, so it’s not just tourists. A bit expensive in comparison to other hostels, but there’s also free food of good quality. It’s worth it.

This is an incredible hostel. Right in the heart of lake Como, easy to get to the train station, ferry port and bus stops. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is incredible with free food available. There is a bar within the hostel that you get a free welcome drink at but it’s worth knowing that it is open to the public. But highly recommend for budget stays in Como.

This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was incredible! Extremely clean, great rooms and common areas, a kitchen with free food to cook with, perfect location, and a 24 hour bar. Still, the best part by far was the community- the volunteers, Georgia and Morgan, planned a picnic and a game night that brought everyone together and we talked for hours. I only stayed one night but I made so many friends and memories!! Highly recommend booking here.

Room: clean, comfortable. Lockers: free Social Atmosphere: extremely. Events nightly. Location: very close to station and next to a great supermarket. You’ll have to bus an hour to the major towns around the lake, but it’s scenic and you can pay on board with card. Staff: super friendly. 24/7 reception. Tips: use the free mosquito spray with reception. Overall: would return and would stay more than 2 nights.

Overall, my stay was fine. The hostel is nice and has several amenities, like breakfast. However, there's a bar inside the hostel, so it's always full of people smoking and drinking, which is so uncomfortable. Regarding the room, I thought it was okay, but the bunk bed isn't well-structured, so it moves a lot and makes noise. I also asked twice for an eye mask, and they said they'd check with the coordinator, but it never arrived. I also think the price was overrated.

Absolutely brilliant experience, the staff are really kind, helpful and fun which makes it so much better, they also organise different activities for the people staying there each night. Would recommend. Situated right on the lake too not far from anything you need.

I booked this hostel during my stay in the Lake Como area. The walk from the train station to the hostel was only a 10-12 minute walk, and if your stop is at the end of the train stop called Como, you will be walking in a lovely stretch of the street overlooking the lake and restaurants! The check-in process was fast, and the staff at the front was super friendly. The vibe of this hostel is amazing. I love the whole setup, and it's conveniently located in the central area for shopping, eating/ coffee shops, and boat tours. The hostel's outdoor bar/patio area is excellent for hanging out with friends and people-watching. The staff offers food and good selections of drinks during your stay for purchase. (The bar is open 24/7!). I booked a six-bedroom dorm style for females only, and the whole dorm was clean; the beds were sturdy and beautifully painted with bright yellow color. The view from my dorm overlooked the other outdoor patio area--it would be a great spot to chill in hammocks and chairs if the weather was nice (during my stay, the weather was rainy/gloomy). Since I came during the weekend, there was an event at this hostel every night, which allowed me to interact with other groups or solo travelers from all over Europe who were also in Lake Como for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend this hostel to those looking for a hostel that is safe, clean, and fully staffed with people who genuinely love meeting new travelers and helping them when needed. I had the best time here during my stay in Lake Como. I would come back here and stay in the future if I revisit Lake Como.

I arranged luggage storage at Ostello Bello through Bounce and it was such a convenient service to start out our vacation in Lake Como. We needed a place to store our bags until our AirBnB check-in, and we wanted to explore Como town unencumbered. Ostello Bello is just a short walk from the train and was easy to get to. I can really only speak to my experience in the lobby and my interactions with the staff, but the vibes upon walking in were really great - good tunes and lively atmosphere. Our bags were quickly checked in and secured, and we were on our way! It was just as easy to collect them a few hours later. The staff also went above and beyond in helping us arrange a taxi to our AirBnB. I can't say enough about how lovely and helpful they were! Although this is a hostel, you can book a private room at a very affordable rate. I would definitely recommend this place as an option for young people traveling on a budget or looking to make some new friends. It seemed like there were lots of activities for people looking to socialize. The location of the hostel is also great, close to transportation as well as a market right next door. I would definitely use the luggage storage service again and maybe next time stay for a drink at the bar!

IMPORTANT: It's a hostel! Booking.com failed to mention this while we booked. But, for a hostel, a private room, with 3 beds (queen and two bunk), it served its purpose. We needed a place to crash after train delays got us in to late to get to our rental house. Room was clean, albeit college dorm style.... But honestly we just wanted clean, comfy beds (they were average), and a safe place and this place delivered. Important to note, you'll make your way through a throng of typical hostel travelers, but they are a friendly folk. We were invite on two hiking trips and to join a song circle before we made it to the main building! I am not joking, so that was funny. My 20 year old son was also offered a free place to stay on the lake..... yeah.... So, very friendly.... You have to check in between the music room and the bar.

Came on recommendation from a local. It's a hostel-bar so expect a lot of hipsters and bra-less 20 somethings with interesting haircuts, and also beards. Just stay away from the food!!! Menu is cheap and you definitely get what you pay for!!! Nice spot to get a drink and hang out and meet new people.
