Ostello Bello Lake Como

⸻ I had such a lovely stay at this hostel and I truly recommend it! Even though I only stayed for one night, my experience was amazing and I would absolutely come back on future trips. The beds are very comfortable and the bed linen is 100% cotton, which I really appreciated — it makes such a difference for a good night’s sleep. The bathrooms are very clean and warm, which is especially nice after a long day out. I stayed in an 8-bed room and everything was very well organized. The whole building is beautifully decorated and has a really nice, welcoming energy. You can feel that care has been put into the space. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything. There’s also a garden and a terrace where you can enjoy coffee, tea, and water with free access. The kitchen offers free pasta, some vegetables, and other food options available for guests. I didn’t personally use this service, but it’s such a thoughtful touch to have it as an option. It’s also a great place to connect with other solo travelers. They organize events like karaoke and comedy nights, which create a really fun and social atmosphere. Overall, 10 out of 10. Highly recommended!

The hostel was a good walking distance from the ferry port and the train station, which made it super convenient to get around. The staff was very friendly and helpful in making sure we had everything we needed, and the room seemed to be kept clean. We also appreciated getting upgraded to a five-person dorm instead of the six-person dorm we had initially booked. Overall, we had a great experience!

Great hostel! It's located near the ferry station and the train station! Clean, colorful and has the friendliest staff! All of them were amazing and ready to assist with questions or anything that could come up. I 100% recommend it.

Staying at Ostello Bello Como truly felt like being at home. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming — full of comfort, good vibes, and amazing people. Everything is clean, cozy, and beautifully organized. A special shout-out to Adriano — he’s simply the best! Friendly, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. He really made my stay unforgettable. If you’re in Como, this is the best place to stay — you’ll feel part of a family from the moment you arrive. ❤️

This is one of the best hostels I've been to! The staff were super friendly, helping to give information for places to go, things to do/see, as well as organising lots of activities every evening to meet others. The hostel is very clean, has comfy beds, lockers, luggage storage, books/games, and the kitchen is so well stocked! They give you a token for a welcome drink, and there is free coffee and juice in the morning as well, which is such a nice addition. I would love to return soon, and wish I could've stayed longer!

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! The location is perfect! Just steps away from a 24/7 Carrefour Market. Everything was spotless, the amenities were great, and the staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly and always willing to help. Adriano C. was especially helpful, along with many others who made my stay feel so welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

Clean rooms & bathroom and comfy beds. They had kept tampons, moisturizer, sanitary pads in all women's room which was a well thought addition :-) Loved it! Well maintained kitchen. Was surprised to see they offered free pasta & few other basic ingredients for the clients. This even 5 star hotels don't do. Only challenge : Rooms are available in 1st, 2nd & 3rd floor but there are no lifts. That Should be mentioned in the website. I had my workout lugging my 20kgs suitcase 2 floors up when i checked in. Lively atmosphere with amazingly friendly staff :-) You don't get this customer service in best of the star hotels too. It's also close to the ferry point & train station. True value for money :-)

I've stayed at over 25 hostels and this is one of the best. Outstanding. Location is close to both the ferry port and walking into Como restaurants and shopping. Rooms are clean and nice and you can do your laundry there (for a fee). My compliments also to Joana for her excellent and helpful customer service.

I booked this hostel during my stay in the Lake Como area. The walk from the train station to the hostel was only a 10-12 minute walk, and if your stop is at the end of the train stop called Como, you will be walking in a lovely stretch of the street overlooking the lake and restaurants! The check-in process was fast, and the staff at the front was super friendly. The vibe of this hostel is amazing. I love the whole setup, and it's conveniently located in the central area for shopping, eating/ coffee shops, and boat tours. The hostel's outdoor bar/patio area is excellent for hanging out with friends and people-watching. The staff offers food and good selections of drinks during your stay for purchase. (The bar is open 24/7!). I booked a six-bedroom dorm style for females only, and the whole dorm was clean; the beds were sturdy and beautifully painted with bright yellow color. The view from my dorm overlooked the other outdoor patio area--it would be a great spot to chill in hammocks and chairs if the weather was nice (during my stay, the weather was rainy/gloomy). Since I came during the weekend, there was an event at this hostel every night, which allowed me to interact with other groups or solo travelers from all over Europe who were also in Lake Como for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend this hostel to those looking for a hostel that is safe, clean, and fully staffed with people who genuinely love meeting new travelers and helping them when needed. I had the best time here during my stay in Lake Como. I would come back here and stay in the future if I revisit Lake Como.

I arranged luggage storage at Ostello Bello through Bounce and it was such a convenient service to start out our vacation in Lake Como. We needed a place to store our bags until our AirBnB check-in, and we wanted to explore Como town unencumbered. Ostello Bello is just a short walk from the train and was easy to get to. I can really only speak to my experience in the lobby and my interactions with the staff, but the vibes upon walking in were really great - good tunes and lively atmosphere. Our bags were quickly checked in and secured, and we were on our way! It was just as easy to collect them a few hours later. The staff also went above and beyond in helping us arrange a taxi to our AirBnB. I can't say enough about how lovely and helpful they were! Although this is a hostel, you can book a private room at a very affordable rate. I would definitely recommend this place as an option for young people traveling on a budget or looking to make some new friends. It seemed like there were lots of activities for people looking to socialize. The location of the hostel is also great, close to transportation as well as a market right next door. I would definitely use the luggage storage service again and maybe next time stay for a drink at the bar!

IMPORTANT: It's a hostel! Booking.com failed to mention this while we booked. But, for a hostel, a private room, with 3 beds (queen and two bunk), it served its purpose. We needed a place to crash after train delays got us in to late to get to our rental house. Room was clean, albeit college dorm style.... But honestly we just wanted clean, comfy beds (they were average), and a safe place and this place delivered. Important to note, you'll make your way through a throng of typical hostel travelers, but they are a friendly folk. We were invite on two hiking trips and to join a song circle before we made it to the main building! I am not joking, so that was funny. My 20 year old son was also offered a free place to stay on the lake..... yeah.... So, very friendly.... You have to check in between the music room and the bar.

Came on recommendation from a local. It's a hostel-bar so expect a lot of hipsters and bra-less 20 somethings with interesting haircuts, and also beards. Just stay away from the food!!! Menu is cheap and you definitely get what you pay for!!! Nice spot to get a drink and hang out and meet new people.
