Ostello Bello Lake Como

This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was incredible! Extremely clean, great rooms and common areas, a kitchen with free food to cook with, perfect location, and a 24 hour bar. Still, the best part by far was the community- the volunteers, Georgia and Morgan, planned a picnic and a game night that brought everyone together and we talked for hours. I only stayed one night but I made so many friends and memories!! Highly recommend booking here.

The stay in this hostel was amazing. Rooms were clean and taken a good care of, stuff is very friendly and helpful and the location is just grate - close to the train station but also to the city. I especially loved the secret garden and also the community which you’ll find in this place.

I was stranded in Como and needed a last minute room. I'm happy I got stranded because my evening in Ostello Bello was great fun! The staff and volunteers are great and all deserve a little forehead kiss. Especially Lucia was the BEST and I love her and I'm still thinking about her days later... she has my heart <3 exceptional woman. I stumbled into Game Night, which was a blast, we sang our hearts out in a game of Heads Up (category Songs). The whole system of welcome drink, electronic codes for all the doors, kitchen with FREE INGREDIENTS (!!!!) is terrific, everything runs smoothly, so already there are NO PROBLEMS, but then on top of that every interaction, every room you discover, every aspect is surprisingly cool and surprisingly generous. Generous is the right word, they have amazing budget friendly prices, but then the hostel is chock-full of free(!) ways to elevate your time (books, games, instruments, food, terrace, garden, ping-pong, fussball, game night, karaoke night). I arrived quite late while an easter dinner was already in session/finishing up, so I couldn't join that, 20 minutes later the dessert of the dinner was instead brought into the game night room to be enjoyed by everyone in the hostel. GENEROUS!! ps if i had to be a lesbian it would be with Lucia ;-)

Stayed here for 2 nights and it’s definitely one of my favourite hostels that I have stayed in! As a solo female traveller I felt safe and looked after. They do little social events every night like paint and sip (paint but mainly drink a lot of wine) picnic and sunset by the lake and my last night they put us into teams and did a scavenger hunt around the communal areas hostel which was so much fun Despite the bar being open to the public and playing music the rooms were quiet, clean and well stocked with little essentials you might have forgotten.

We had a great time and met some amazing people here!! The rooms are cool, bathrooms clean, they have great social events as well. Check in was easy and you can store your luggage if you need to arrive early or leave late.

All of the hosts were so nice and welcoming. Super cool spaces, hidden quite gardens, kitchen for cooking together and more common space to meet new people. Every evening they organise stuff to do(quiz, karaoke, beer pong). Plenty to do in the Hostel. Never felt bored even though it was raining non stop! Thank you for the stay guys.

The best hostel I’ve stayed at!! Loved the kitchen with the free and fresh food, where everybody can get together and hang out. A very social hostel and I loved all the people I’ve met here. Amazing location, close to the center and the train station. AND 24/7 grocery store just next door. It would have perfect if the beds had bedcurtains but other than that, which isn’t that important, no complaints. And volunteers Baptistein and Emily were so lovely and amazing!!

Just enjoyed a lovely stay here, will definitely be returning. The hostel itself is so cute with a secret garden and rooftop terrace. There is a great vibe in the evening and the beds are also super comfy. The staff were beyond kind and welcoming, auriane at reception was especially lovely, making the trip even more memorable! :)

I booked this hostel during my stay in the Lake Como area. The walk from the train station to the hostel was only a 10-12 minute walk, and if your stop is at the end of the train stop called Como, you will be walking in a lovely stretch of the street overlooking the lake and restaurants! The check-in process was fast, and the staff at the front was super friendly. The vibe of this hostel is amazing. I love the whole setup, and it's conveniently located in the central area for shopping, eating/ coffee shops, and boat tours. The hostel's outdoor bar/patio area is excellent for hanging out with friends and people-watching. The staff offers food and good selections of drinks during your stay for purchase. (The bar is open 24/7!). I booked a six-bedroom dorm style for females only, and the whole dorm was clean; the beds were sturdy and beautifully painted with bright yellow color. The view from my dorm overlooked the other outdoor patio area--it would be a great spot to chill in hammocks and chairs if the weather was nice (during my stay, the weather was rainy/gloomy). Since I came during the weekend, there was an event at this hostel every night, which allowed me to interact with other groups or solo travelers from all over Europe who were also in Lake Como for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend this hostel to those looking for a hostel that is safe, clean, and fully staffed with people who genuinely love meeting new travelers and helping them when needed. I had the best time here during my stay in Lake Como. I would come back here and stay in the future if I revisit Lake Como.

I arranged luggage storage at Ostello Bello through Bounce and it was such a convenient service to start out our vacation in Lake Como. We needed a place to store our bags until our AirBnB check-in, and we wanted to explore Como town unencumbered. Ostello Bello is just a short walk from the train and was easy to get to. I can really only speak to my experience in the lobby and my interactions with the staff, but the vibes upon walking in were really great - good tunes and lively atmosphere. Our bags were quickly checked in and secured, and we were on our way! It was just as easy to collect them a few hours later. The staff also went above and beyond in helping us arrange a taxi to our AirBnB. I can't say enough about how lovely and helpful they were! Although this is a hostel, you can book a private room at a very affordable rate. I would definitely recommend this place as an option for young people traveling on a budget or looking to make some new friends. It seemed like there were lots of activities for people looking to socialize. The location of the hostel is also great, close to transportation as well as a market right next door. I would definitely use the luggage storage service again and maybe next time stay for a drink at the bar!

IMPORTANT: It's a hostel! Booking.com failed to mention this while we booked. But, for a hostel, a private room, with 3 beds (queen and two bunk), it served its purpose. We needed a place to crash after train delays got us in to late to get to our rental house. Room was clean, albeit college dorm style.... But honestly we just wanted clean, comfy beds (they were average), and a safe place and this place delivered. Important to note, you'll make your way through a throng of typical hostel travelers, but they are a friendly folk. We were invite on two hiking trips and to join a song circle before we made it to the main building! I am not joking, so that was funny. My 20 year old son was also offered a free place to stay on the lake..... yeah.... So, very friendly.... You have to check in between the music room and the bar.

Came on recommendation from a local. It's a hostel-bar so expect a lot of hipsters and bra-less 20 somethings with interesting haircuts, and also beards. Just stay away from the food!!! Menu is cheap and you definitely get what you pay for!!! Nice spot to get a drink and hang out and meet new people.
