We visited Ostello Campo Imperatore at the top of the mountain, and it was a fantastic experience! Be aware that access by car now costs 10 euros if you want to drive all the way up and park at the top. Alternatively, you can park near the roundabout in Fonte Cerreto and take the cable car up – it costs 8 euros per person for a return ticket. Either way, the views and the atmosphere up there are absolutely worth it – we highly recommend visiting this unique place, often called the “Little Tibet” of Italy.

Lovely stuff, very welcoming, good for families. We arrived a bit late and the chef still gave us some very incredible local food. Gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle, ravioli and melted cheese with truffle and sheep burger. Prices a bit over the average in the area but worth it. Dogs are welcomed.

It was amazing ! I came there as a solo traveler who wanted to flee the hustle and bustle of Rome and my expectations got exceeded. The staff was really kind, I had a nice little room for myself, everything was clean. The price is really okay and if you pay 25€ extra you get a really good dinner, also very good vegetarian options. I am really glad I was able to enjoy some time in this lovely ostello and I hope I can come back someday :)

After a long hike, we stopped here for a well earned beer and it is the first time we have been in since the refurb. It has been transformed into a nice space and whilst the beer at €5 for 0.40l (should have been a .50l as the barman needs to learn how to pour draft beer properly!), but part of the price has to be for the location, which is stunning. We took a look in the restaurant and hope to try it one day.

The location was amazing but the staff was unorganised, rude and unclear in explaining what they charge you for. It was 7 of us and we ordered 4 set menus for dinner. We clearly specified we were going to share the meals and after double checking the different options the staff accepted this request. Although the next day they fully charged us for 7 menus - food we have never ate. Also, it was of poor quality and I strongly advise against going if you are vegetarian. Despite calling in advance the set menu had not been changed and we were charged for the full price when eating only a soup and not the main course.

They've done a really super job in renovating this place and it is what Campo Imperatore really needed. We only had some much needed beer after a long hike and we had a look around and it looks great. The beer was a bit pricey, but to be honest, you have to pay for the location too

Fairly cheap and cheerful accommodation in good location for mountain ascents. Interesting building as it incorporates the old upper teleferique station. But breakfast is only one croissant and cup of coffee and dinner is fixed price fixed menu

The soup was described by my wife as the best she had eaten in Italy and the tagliatelle I had was superb. The unassuming little place was a gem of delicious food and the panna cotta was to die for, so eat here
