Ostello della Gioventù Noto - "Il Castello"

Lovely Hostel with a very friendly host. Great location and view from the room. It is however a hostel so mange your expectations. This is basically a two person show. Breakfast is basic and sufficient as well as the rooms. We had a lovely stay and the terrace bar „secret“ is very nice as well. We would definitely come back.

The views and the location are excelent, unfortunatley they want to squezz as much money out of the hostal terrace as possible so they use it as a terrace for and external night bar, we ended up having strangers drinking gintonics beside out drying swimsuts and towels and couldnt sleep until 1:30 am when the bar was closing. really not recomended if you go with a family or for a chill night.

The view is beautiful, the room was very spacious even though it was a bit strange to have 4 sinks for only two people. Very good price for what it is. However, I would suggest improving the breakfast: fresh squeezed orange juice for example, fresh fruit salad, and natural yogurt of great quality instead of processed yogurt with artifical flavors, add more variety for the pastries.... If you improve your breakfast my score will go up to a 5 starts :)

We stayed at this place for two nights in September. Location is brilliant, right in the middle of the city. Our room had access to the huge terrace overlooking the Cathedral. ||Free parking on the street right at the hotel's door. I should agree to some points in the previous review - room was a bit spartan with Ikea bed and mattress, but the shower was newly renovated and super clean. Let's be fair - if you pay around 50 euros per night with parking and free breakfast in simply best location in town, luxury is nor included. Again, we came there to see Noto, Ragusa and Modica, meaning we came in just to sleep and take a shower. This place has served the purpose 100%.||Overall, I can recommend this hotel.

We chose this accommodation for its proximity to the main street in Noto: a set of steps next to the hostel leads directly into the heart of the city with good access to the Cathedral, other main sights and the bars and restaurants. Particularly when returning after an evening in a restaurant, you need to be fairly fit to use the steps but this is an antidote to the good food that you can find.|Bear in mind that this is a hostel, but one in an interesting old building with marble floors and great views over Noto. There is a mix of private accommodation and dormitories with their own bathroom and shower. Our room for two was huge with a comfortable bed; it was clean and well maintained.|The reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful with advice on parking and where to visit in the town. Wi-Fi was available in and near the lobby and there was a decent continental breakfast thrown in. |You can bring a car and park outside or nearby if you can find a spot: ask reception to find the parking spots. Our only downside was that our Satnav had difficulty locating the entrance from the address. Perhaps a better location indicator would help. But we did get there and can recommend it.| |Highly recommended providing good value for money.|

I would give 5 Stars if it was for the location alone. But... I think this place needs a little makeover. I know it is a hostel and that's fine but even though, the rooms and especially the bathrooms need some renewal. We had a room that was made for 8 people for just the 2 of us which was nice and we had a lot of space. The view on the city was perfect. However, the beds (all but one were bunk beds) were a bit older. And the shower and toilet rooms could surely be modernised. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Umbrellas for the beach are available which was nice. Breakfast was ok but not great; sweetened juice and yoghurt... I think that could be improved easily (maybe some fresh fruit and pure yoghurt instead).

Not speaking much Italian, we did not know from the establishment's name that it is actually a youth hostel. But they do offer double lodgings for couples, with extra, empty beds in the room. Interesting old building with excellent views over the historic center of town. Adequate, basic breakfast, but superb, high ground location and super-helpful desk host. Lots of stairs, elevator not working. Take it for what it is, but we stayed during the town's busiest festival of the year. Difficult to get reservations.

We loved this hostel. It is so gr8. The view is spectacular and the people are so nice and helpful. Only 2 min. from all the things you want to see. Clean and good beds.
