Osteria 16

I had one of the most delightful dinners at Osteria 16. We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We were seated at a small counter in the back, which turned out to be extremely comfortable, with the staff giving us attentive service throughout. The restaurant offers a fixed-price set menu with several small plates. The portions are well-balanced, so you leave feeling satisfied but not overly full. They also have a great wine list—I paired my meal with an organic orange wine, which was fantastic. One small suggestion: it would be great if they offered pairing recommendations based on the menu. Emil, the owner, was incredibly warm and welcoming, always engaging with guests, explaining the dishes, and sharing great conversations. The restaurant is small but has a great atmosphere, with the kitchen centrality-right positioned, adding to the lively flow of the space. If I had one minor critique, the heating was a bit too warm, and after a few glasses of wine, I found myself needing to step outside to cool down. Slightly lowering the temperature would make the experience even more comfortable. Overall, Osteria 16 is a fantastic spot, conveniently located near the underground. Highly recommend if you’re in Copenhagen!

Everything was absolutely sublime! The place has a great atmosphere—warm and inviting. The service was flawless: welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The set menu was a wonderful surprise—every dish was incredibly delicious, made with high-quality ingredients and great expertise. The wine list was also well-curated, offering excellent pairings for the meal. And the best part: the prices are very, very reasonable for such amazing quality. I can’t wait to come back!

Accidentally found this place. This place is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited in Copenhagen! I love all the fish dishes! If you are in this area don’t miss it!

Had a great time! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, and trying a variety of dishes. Since it was just the two of us, there ended up being quite a lot of food, but that likely wouldn’t be an issue for most people. Overall, everything was really good— the Negronis were probably the best I’ve had in Copenhagen. Not giving full stars because a few dishes lacked flavor, but that certainly won’t stop me from coming back.

We had a truly amazing dinner here that I’ll remember for a long time. The meal is an (8 course) tasting shared by all the table and we enjoyed each dish. Highlights were the octopus salad, green beans and meatballs in a great tomato sauce. Lovely wine, really attentive and kind hosts, and a beautiful atmosphere. Couldn’t have asked for more on our first night in Copenhagen, and hope to return someday soon.

One of my absolute favorite places in the city. Fresh, light, delicious, interesting, amazing wines, lovely ambiance, incredibly kind staff, fun setting - what more do you want? I will always come back.

Here you will find a cozy restaurant with small antipasti dishes in a fixed menu. The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the different flavours. The waiter recommended us a light wine to go with the predominantly fish dishes which was a perfect choice. A lovely evening and experience.

Going in I thought it would be more of a posh Italian restaurant but it turned to be a much smaller and more intimate place which surprised us in a good way. We really enjoyed the food, and witnessed the process of making it as well, that really added to the experience. If you want a really chill and not too fancy spot for an intimate dinner - this is your place.

I have eaten here twice and first time it was 4 or 5 stars - so we came back. second time around not so good, actually pretty bad. The menu is fixed so you dont know what you get - fair but this put the chef in a position where he/she needs to please all with the 8 courses. 7 fish dishes is not ok - especially when your sister restaurant is 100% fish - then you dont also expect this to be 100% fish. we even asked before we started, "is everything fish" - No the risotto is not fish (but it was, it was Clearly made on fish stock and had dried fish eggs sprinkled on top) We asked to have the Oister switched for one of our 5 guests (allergy) to something NOT fish, since she was not a big fan of fish, and she got a sardin. IF we had know it was 100% fish, then 3 of the 5 would still have had a good time, 1 dislike fish and 1 dont eat fish. But well we were here, had ordered a table - and the menu was not all fish when i Asked while doing the booking. And since the waiter said the Risotto (pretty filling main course) was NOT fish we thought... well ok no on will go hungry. 3 things that make me reward you with 1 start, witch i Normally only give if i leave the place is this: 1) 100% fish on a fixed 8 course menu is a really stupid choice. 2) when you have a fixed menu it must be perfect, and the risotto had the consistency of a soupe, this is not how risotto is supposed to be 3) the coffee for the desert in a clearly Italian themed restaurant was thin and tastless (No espressos, even though you have 10+ espresso machines on display in the kitchen ?)

Diamond in the rough. This restaurant captures the true meaning of this idea, with it extremely unpretentious yet high quality dishes. The place is hard to find, no signs or lights mark the restaurants presence. But nonetheless, it is a buzzing local gem. Don't count on getting a seat without a booked table. It almost goes without saying at this point, but the food was excellent. 8 dishes, the only choice, were almost all perfect. They were all delicious and incredibly unique. From Spanish to Pakistani, they didn't try to do anything else than deliver 100% in taste. I can and will recommend this place to all - casual excellence at its best!

A hidden gem with great Italian antipasti and a solid wine selection. The vegetarian version of the menu is great - just let them know in advance. The focus on fresh ingredients really pays off.

I honestly felt this place had an authentic feel to it. You don't order anything specific. You just sit down and get fed. Not too much hazzle. Each dish was freshly made and lots of the ingredients has been brought in directly from Italy. I even tried some new food I usually don't want to eat, but because of the freshness here I knew it had to be tried. Thus, the value for money factor was very reasonable. Unfortunately, the only subpar dish was their curry dish, which was made by the dishwasher (we were told). It had decent flavours, but the meat was overcooked and unfortunately didn't suit the rest of the meal.

Say hallo to my new favorite restaurant in Copenhagen. This is SO good. I went here last week. We had reserved a table in advance, and got a small table in the back of the room. Already when entering the restaurant I felt like I was in Italy. It's exactly like some of the best restaurants that I've visited in Rome - with small tables and lots of people - in the good way. Not in the "we wanted a romantic dinner for two but felt like we had a romantic dinner with the table next to us as well" kind of way. This place only have one menu - eight antipasti dishes for 250 dkk. Some of the dishes reminded me of Italian food I've gotten in Italy, and some were more modern and different small dishes. They all had in common that they were perfectly cooked and suited so good together. With no doubt the best Italian food I've gotten in Copenhagen. We got a glass of the rosé wine to begin with - one of the best rose's I've tried. And it was only 55 dkk/glass, which is quite good at a restaurant in Copenhagen. The service was really good, and the waiters constantly checked that everything was okay, served us a bit more wine and bread and when I said I don't eat milk, it was no problem to fix milk free dishes for me. The water is served in white plastic cups, the food is prepared in a partly opened kitchen and it's all very authentic. Sometimes with restaurants like this, that really try to look like Italian restaurants, I feel that they try to hard. But not this time. This time it was just perfect.

This is just down my alley when it comes to what I expect from a Restaurant! Yes, you sit tight, but the "hygge" (a danish discourse for coziness) and the good food make up for all that. The Food is rustic, good tasting Italian. GO HERE. You won't regret it (unless you have a little bit of socio phobia). Everyday they have an 8 course menu for 250 kr (I think). The style is italian in the non-pretentious kinda way. They ain't got no pizza if that's what you're asking! An excellent place to dine out especially during the weekdays. Actually, go here on weekdays, the chances of getting a table is better.

Ok, I am Italian and I am judging an Italian restaurant abroad. That is not fair, but to be honest I was not enjoying this place for several reason. I went here with my boss and colleagues for a dinner. We had the standard 8 appetizers/starters with a lot of different tastes and good wine. The food was really good: the taste of the food is almost near to my grandma's dishes, but the thing that I really don't like is the high number of people in that small area. There is a small area dedicated to tables and everybody is "compressed": I am not the kind of guy that loves to accidentally touch strangers while having dinner. Because of that, the place gets noisy really quick: you cannot have a talk with other people without screaming or without listening to other people's conversations. I was feeling like a chicken in a cage, and I realized this when I went inside the place for the first time: I was forced to touch strangers to reach the main waiter and tell to him that I booked a table. Bad thing. I give 3 stars, instead of 1,5 or 2, just because of the waiter: he was really nice and gentle, I think his name was Claudio Maria and he was Italian. If you are there ask to talk to him: he made me feeling in a "real Italian place"... But to be honest: the furniture and the "overpopulated" area is really far from an authentic and cozy Osteria, but the food is really good as in the Italian ones.

Super tasty Italian style antipasti. Very fresh and you can really taste the love for the ingredients. Easy to get gluten free options and staff was very nice and accommodating and remember that someone at the table was gluten intolerant. Good to let them know in advance when you make your reservation. Making reservation is necessary since it is a very small place.

I had the best dinner of my trip in Osteria 16; this place is a small restaurant (probably 10 tables, at most), with a set menu of "tapas" with fusion plates made with octopus (exquisite!), cod fish (exquisite!), pasta, meat ending with chicken (in this same order). Dessert wasn't that impressive, but who cares after such a great dinner. Great wine, excellent service and great food; what else can have?

I will never get over this meal. Never-ever. Ever since coming here with my family we've all been working hard on trying to recreate the dishes we were served. No luck. You can't google this shit- this is homecooked Calabrian food as you've never tried it before. The seafood!! Tuna salads, langoustine, fish, octopus... Everything in the best quality, served in smaller antipasti dishes. The staff was amazing, too. After a few bottles of wine we were standing outside smoking hand rolled cigarettes with our waitress, swapping life stories. PS. THIS IS NOT ITALIAN LIKE PASTA BOLOGNESE & RED/WHITE CHECKERED TABLECLOTH, OK??

Excellent and great value for money. 8 course antipasta menu for 250 kroner is hard to come by in Copenhagen - and the quality and taste was fantastic. Atmosphere is small and cozy. A real local gem.
