It was a fun and unique experience. I called a couple weeks before to make reservations. It took a few times to get through, but was worth the effort as you need a reservation. The steak was good, but not fantastic. They had forgotten to salt it. I was able to add salt, so not a real problem, but took me some time to realize it. The pear salad was very good. I would recommend going here as it is a fun experience, but might not be the best steak you have ever had. We sat with a lady from Israel and had a nice time visiting with here.

Best Bistecca steak ever!! It truly was 1.6kg of amazingness! Shared table seating was delightful and cosy. MUST book ahead - they do two seating times, and both were fully booked. Do not miss this place if you’re in the region!

Wow what a place. Service, atmosphere, and price point were all exceptional. I originally wasn’t impressed with Community tables but it was the best experience. We quickly befriended our neighbors and had great conversation even though they were all Italian. Absolutely recommend

Wonderfully rustic Osteria serving a variety of traditional Tuscan cuisine. They are known for their Florentine Bistecca which is cut onsite and cooked rare so be prepared if you like your steak a little more well done. The minimum size is 1.3 kg for 2 people, and at €35 per kilo the quality and value are epic. There are a bunch of delicious sides to choose from as well as primi pasta dishes if you’re hungry. Their home made tiramisu is also not to be missed. A real experience with a lively atmosphere and view down into the back of the restaurant where you can see the chefs at work. Highly recommend for a no frills, rustic experience with excellent food and quality Tuscan hospitality.

The BEST bistecca fiorentina I’ve ever had! Initially, I was a bit skeptical because of a previous not-so-great experience with rare meat. But the owner confidently said, ‘Try it our way,’ so I did—and now I’m dreaming of coming back for another steak! 🥩 Also, the prices are incredibly friendly! Previously, I tried bistecca fiorentina at another place—it was almost twice as expensive and not nearly as tasty. Just a heads-up: reservations are a must, and shared tables are part of the experience. I wasn’t expecting it, but it ended up being fun. Highly recommended!

That steak...large, rare and delicious! Cut right in front of my eyes and prepared in the simmering fire. That ambience with the shared tables! Made friends while eating too! That pasta, pici with black truffles! Lord, all food should be this good. The house red, amazing! The dessert, a caramel custard done the old fashioned way, mamma mia! All this and more for a price that does not pinch or hurt! MUST DO when in Montepulciano...even when in any place around Tuscany, get here and have a great experience!

This is not a Gourmet restaurant. This is a genuine Italian osteria where you are involved in a family environment, real food and people, where you share tables. A recommended experience for those who search real & quality food. Make sure to reserve in advance, even in the low season.

The bisteca is a must, great quality, cooked on fire. The melanza parmigiana is great. Pecorino melted cheese with truffle was also really good.
