A Guide to Venice’s Islands, From Burano to Lido | Condé Nast Traveler

"For exceptional fish dishes on the Lido I recommend bookmarking Osteria Al Merca as a reliable neighborhood spot for fresh, well-executed seafood." - Jenn Rice

Food is good but service is quite poor. Seems more like a place for locals, food was pretty decent but the service felt rushed and lacked in presence. All other tables had complimentary bread and were checked on regularly. Again, great food but maybe not best for tourists.

This place commits crimes against cooking and against Italian/Venetian cuisine. The food is poorly cooked, the ingredients are cheap, and some of them are off (a good example is salad - totally wilted and gone black, but they still serve it). The whole place has a bad vibe too, with a bossy man in charge and the rest of the staff looking terrorised

Food was amazing but more importantly the quality of the service we received made our dining experience exceptional. Just the only thing that was missing for us was a sauce to go with the fried seafood plate.Thank you and hopefully see you again.

Restaurant look very good and friendly. If you will choose go here, you need time and warm clothes. Food looks very good, starters are served fast, main course takes a time. Our starters arrived within 10 min, main course (fish) in 1,5 hour. It looks there is small kutchen with low capacity, not able to serve visitors in some reasoble time. I suggest to take warm clothes with you. Inside restaurant was very cold. All people asked waiters to increase temperature. Without sucess. Due to low temperature, nobody spends time for talk with friends, everybody runs out immediatelly after finishing food.

The first place in Venice that I can say I ate like a local....and ate well. Venice has become way too crowded and in my opinion lost its charm. Finding a good restaurant can be quite a challenge.

Absolutely best burrata + gaspacho one could ever hope for. Chocolate mousse was also top notch. On the other hand, the fried seafood was too oily and too deep-fried, so that was a bit of a disappointment for my date.

The two pasta we ordered were awful, too salty and seemed to be cooked with canned food. And it was 18 euros each, that’s a scam.

One of the best fish places on Lido, better book your seats in advance 'cause it's frequently packed. Aperol Spritz is top.
