We ate here a few times as our hotel was down the block. Outside is fun, but the downstairs room dates back to the 1080's, once part of the Chiesa di San Niccolò (next door). Is it cool dining in a medieval undercroft that's ~1,000 years old? Sì, sicuramente! Every dish we had was good or great. Carafes of house wine are nicely priced and just fine for dining. The Ossobuco alla Fiorentina is amazing.

This spot was recommended from my AirBnb host and was definitely worth it!! The entire menu was in Italian (clearly a local spot), but the staff was so friendly and was able to answer all of my questions. We got the florentine steak with some sides and it was the best meal I have had in a while! I wish I could remember my waiters name, but he was so friendly and made the experience so much better!

At first we were a little weary due to some reviews about the service. After trying this restaurant I couldn’t have had a more positive experience. Menus are Italian only but easy enough to navigate. I had the best pici and chanti here, the pasta was so fresh and obviously hand made. The restaurant feels like you’re sitting in an Italian home. The servers were very to the point and direct with few smiles, however they were not rude or pushy, I even got a smile due to my poor Italian phases.

Wow—what an incredible meal and overall experience! If I had one minor critique, it would be that the bread was a bit bland. That said, everything else was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the house red wine, and if you order just one thing, make it the roasted potatoes—they were insanely good! We had the Florentine steak, and it was fantastic. Don’t be put off by its thick, rare appearance—it actually tastes like a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak and is incredibly flavorful. Overall, a truly memorable dining experience!

This place was recommended to us by a local. We got there at 2:10 and the owner made sure to tell us they close for the afternoon at 2:30 and we could only order one dish. He expressed we should hurry and then told us what to order. The food came out quickly, piping hot, and so delicious. Very traditional recipes and worth it even if staff doesn't handle tourists super well. They reopen for dinner at 7. Recommend you go earlier or later then we did and you'll be fine!

Very family style comfort food and generous with the potions. Got good recommendations and size right.

Authentic Tuscan food and out of busy tourist zone. The chicken liver crostini is the best in town. The Florentine steak is incredible. Food is high quality, the atmosphere is authentic, and service is jovial. I eat here every time I'm in Florence.

Great restaurant for authentic Tuscan flavors and feel. They had quite a few vegetarian options. We tried the primavera pasta, a zucchini risotto and their house wine. The food was fresh and served hot and the wine tasted great too. The portion sizes were filling. We saw people around us also satisfied with their meals. They also had some good selection of desserts but we were too full to try them out. We ordered a home-made chocolate cake and it was palatable. I loved the ambience of the restaurant. It was an immersive experience. However, the staff can be more welcoming and friendly and better accommodating of people with small kids.
