Osteria Cancello dei Macci

We had the most incredible dinner last night at Cancello dei Macci. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by Lory and Chris who are so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is perfectly decorated and you feel like you walked into a cozy Tuscany home which makes perfect sense because it feels like they are cooking for you as if you are their closest friends and family. Everything we tasted was authentic and delicious - just perfect. The chef is incredibly talented and it shows with every dish he makes. If you are in Florence you absolutely need to add this place to your list! ✨

My favourite restaurant in Italy! Staff are awesome, food is amazing, drinks are spectacular. Negroni’s are so goooood- perfectly balanced and served in a chilled glass- the tomato soup is delicious, the tortelloni is out of control!!!!! Tiramisu is great!!!! Steak was melt in your mouth. Highly recommend, you should book to ensure you get a table. We didn’t book the first time we came and luckily some people didn’t show. I wish we had more time to try the whole menu. This place was a 2 minute walk from our air bnb, just perfect!! 😍 also the cannoli and dessert wine is to die for!!!!!

We had a great dinner here last week. Lory was very kind and helpful, and we enjoyed the charming atmosphere, the delicious meals, and excellent wine. I would recommend the tagliere with salami, cured meats, cheese, and crostini neri as a starter. The steak was really tender, juicy, and properly prepared, with a good selection of digestives to finish. I plan to come again.

Incredible doesn’t even begin to describe our experience last night at Osteria Cancello dei Macci. From the moment we walked in, Chris and Lory took the absolute best care of us with welcoming smiles and laughter. We felt right at home especially with the charming Tuscan decor. Now on to the main event, the food. Oh my heart ❤️ nothing quite prepared me for these exquisite plates. There’s something to be said about a meal that takes you to a place of comfort, joy, and surprise. From the zucchini carrot soup, black truffle crostini, pesto pasta in black truffle butter sauce, spaghetti bolognese with a pecorino cream sauce, steak with polenta and peppercorns, black truffle steak, chocolate banana brownies and the Chefs Special Cheesecake, I will never be the same. This was the best decision we made today — to have dinner at this restaurant near our hotel in Florence! The crispy octopus with its delicious sauce was absolutely perfect, and the steak was simply phenomenal. I forgot to take a picture of the roasted potatoes, but they were also amazing — make sure to try them together with the steak! But what made this experience truly unforgettable was our wonderful server, Lori. Her bright energy, kindness, and thoughtfulness completely washed away the fatigue of a long day of travel. Thank you so much, Lori! You made our evening truly special.

I had an amazing steak at this restaurant. The dining room is cool and has a comfortable rustic feeling. The service was outstanding and couldn’t have asked for more. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a Florentine steak or just some great pasta. The deserts were good but the deconstructed cannoli had a strange aftertaste.

This is one of Florence's best hidden gems! Everything about our experience was outstanding. Starting with Luca our server, who was one of the best we had in Italy. The food - didn't want to leave one crumb! The setting is warm, cozy and beautiful. You feel like you're eating in someone's beautiful Tuscan home. This is a do-not-miss in Florence

We had a great dinner here. Service was 5+. Although we had no reservation (we were 3) they found a table for us. The food was delicious and the tiramisu at the end topped it all. It's a lovely restaurant, we highly recommend it 🥰
