Very traditional vénitian Osteria in a hidden place really worth the visit , great bacalau mantecato , rigatoni dish with fresh seasonal peas, and really tasty veal dish with a top apricot sauce .. really worth the diner and expérience . Highly recommanded

-10 for customer service! We were so excited to come here and walked 45 through all the island, when we reached there were couple of free seats outside and inside as well, but we were not welcomed ! The lady with the curly has was extremely rude and had the most disgusting attitude not even trying to help or talk to us! We did not have a reservation and if we are declined to be seated with manners we of course understand and take a reservation perhaps for an other day. But the way she was talking and refused to even try to help was disgusting - this is the lady with the curly hair ! The other waitress was trying to help at first but the curly hair one shut her down real quick . Very disappointing and disgusting to have someone represent any kind of restaurant . She should be ashamed of herself . Everyone was saying the food was really good, but with this kind of attitude I do not recommend to visit this place at all!

My friend and I had the best mussels here. Ingredients are SUPER fresh and you are really paying for quality. The restaurant is located in a quiet place and has a homely atmosphere They also had a very good selection of local wine. I had one red and one white one and loves them both. Would highly recommend this place for fresh ingredients and authentic Venetian cuisine

Traditional and tasty Venetian food. Fish specialities and very well cooked pasta. A place to go if you really want to try the taste of the city. The waitress was kind and very accuracy with suggestions. Fantastic homemade tiramisu.

Best meal in a long time and very friendly multilingual staff. Please make sure you don't replicate our mistake and book in advance at it was full when we arrived and we had ti come back over an hour later to get a table. Food was delicious 😋. Absolutely all of it. Not many pictures as we were enjoying our meals too much.

Fabulous seafood in a quiet corner of the city, off the tourist hotspots. Small 2 person tables right by a canal. Yes, there is some traffic of water taxis, but isn’t that part of the charm of the city. All the food was delicious and the house white wine and a great local desert wine completed the experience. I would be happy to come back tomorrow!

This is a most welcoming and comforting place. The location is fantastic, next to a lovely canal. The service is amazing, the food is well curated (Slow Food movement). I recommend the bigoli in salsa.

Yelp
Came here by recommendation when I was seeking for some cuttlefish! Ordered it and it's served with polenta which has the burnt taste on the grill flare with the chewiness of the cuttlefish that had the texture of squid and softer. They made it quite some treasure to be cherished with every bite since I've never had such a dish with those two mixed textures. There's a thickness of gravy and on the saltier side with the sauce and overall dish. I would say that the sauce could have been made better to compliment the local white wine I had. Freshness of the cuttlefish I can taste though! Octopus salad lacked salt but it was at its whole organic appetizer. Well tender. Just missing a kick. Bread could have been warmed up and they gave me a whole bottle olive oil. I think it could have been poured in a bowl or on a plate to dip. Classic design with American music in the background. Communal tables and warmth added to this whole setting. Espresso ordered at the end, helps come to a well being in a state of mind and overcome food coma!

Yelp
Quaint restaurant with delicious dishes. Ordered poached egg, papardeli duck, Guinea fowl, tortellini with shrimp. Everything was amazing but for me the duck stood out.

Yelp
I only knew of this place through a coworker of mine, who was from the area. This is a place hidden away from the touristy spots, and is always packed with locals. And, the menu is just whatever they decide to cook on a given day. Now, on to the review. This is far and away, the best Italian food I have ever eaten in my life! The la caprese with fresh tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella was out of this world! I have had the Spaghetti ala scoglio (seafood pasta in a light tomato sauce), and I can honestly say that it was one of the only things I have every eaten that was so good, it darn near made me cry! The spaghetti bolognese was also freaking incredible! Everything here is made about as fresh as you can get. I tell everyone I know to come here if they ever get a chance--and if they do, to brush up on their Italian, because they don't really speak English here (non touristy spot, so go figure). This is true, fresh, and very authentic!

Yelp
Lackluster at best. Service was incredibly slow. The mussels were good but nothing else was noteworthy. I was shocked to see they were using a microwave certainly not the ambiance I was looking for...

Yelp
This is a good environment with tasty food and a friendly (and cute) staff! It's not crowded, they play great 50's and 60's American music. I had my favorite spaghetti with clams, bruschetta bianca, and mousse. It was tasty.

Yelp
In summary: an excellent restaurant that focuses on local venetian fare at local prices. They are quite accommodating to their customers and the whole experience felt very authentic. This restaurant is not for you if you are expecting a romantic candlelight dinner with white linen service. We came here by recommendation from a local who was attempting to help us find another restaurant. Since we had just walked in (at 8 pm) we did not have reservations but the server and chef made a spot for us. Our server was a student at the university who spoke amazing English and provided us with the best service that we had in Venice- she gave great tips and told us that we could split dishes so we could try everything. For starters, we had the sardines and onions as well as the baby octopus. The sardines were perfectly cooked and was eaten very quickly (my husband who is a picky eater even ate some). However, the baby octopus was absolutely delightful being perfectly cooked and dressed in olive oil with a little bit of salt. For primi, we had the Bolognese and the dumplings with mushrooms and veal. Both were delicious but the dumplings really stood out. Perfectly fluffy and light while maintaining a chewy texture. Secondi was the steak with a side of rocket salad; the steak was cooked rare (they do not ask how you like your steak done) and was so flavorful. I was able to cut my entire steak with a butter knife. Finally for dessert, we couldn't decide between the tiramisu or the biscuits so our server gave us both. They were fantastic and a perfect way to end the meal. What made this meal even better was the company (we sat in the middle of a large family style table) and on both sides were locals we conversed with throughout the entire meal as well as the total bill. Our bill was 56 euros including a carafe of house red, 1 L of water and an aperitif. Truly, this was an experience that cannot be missed.
