Ostería del Capuccino

Updated: we went with friends a second time a month later and enjoyed it much more. Instead of sandwiches we had pasta, the lasagna and the tortellini. The bread they served at table was very good and the pasta also was good. It still was not cheap, nearly $50 USD for two with water and entrees only, but the good was much better. The interior is lovely and cute, with colorful decorations and a quiet atmosphere. The staff is pleasant, but the sandwiches we had were really bad. Specifically, they were plated poorly, nothing but a sandwich on a plate. And then the bread was so so stale. It was pretty inedible. I had ordered the turkey and pesto and he had the Italian, which was really roast beef with roasted eggplant. It took a long time for the order to arrive and it wasn't really warm, the cheese wasn't melted. Not a very good meal I'm afraid, and for nearly 500 pesos each

Excellent service. The food was delicious. I was nervous to visit this place because most of the fancy restaurants in Santo Domingo are racist, but this wasn’t the case, I felt welcome and was treated with so much respect. The staff were so attentive and nice to us.

The food was great, the service was somewhat slow even though there were many servers around. And the atmosphere was very cozy.

This is a great place to take a girl on a date (and not just any girl, i mean a girl you really into😂) the restaurant actually takes up quite a vast part of that street corner, its an italian restaurant/ bakery/ coffee shop. The moment i came in i felt very comfortable with the ambience, very cozy, no loud crazy music like some spots have, the have several areas for you to choose, theres even an area with dimmed lights, loved it all, the staff was very attentive and kind. As for food and drinks i went straight to the cocktails, had a passion fruit margarita, very delicious. I was recommended to try the meat cannelloni and they were show stopping. Had a one thousand leaves cake for dessert it was so good. Like i said. You wanna impress, this is the place to try it.

A beautiful place in the city of Santo Domingo, in front of the Teatro Nacional….

Had a really great time in this place. Hector was an amazing waiter. Perfect suggestions, accomodated couple of requests... They had a pianist while I was there, which was a pretty nice touch. Funny thing (and I'm thankful) is that my little kid asked the pianis for "twinkle twinkle little star", next thing you know this guy is playing kids songs for my kids. I ask for a Sinatra song, he went all in with the request. AMAZING, THANK YOU.
