Incredible place! Please make a reservation, we did not. Fortunately we got lucky and got a table. The restaurant is family owned and you can feel the careness in the food and service. The food is delicious, we have tried almost everything. The prices are fair. Lovely experience and decoration. Great atmosphere, it is the place where locals go to eat. Definitely worth a visit. Recommended by the locals, this family-run seafood restaurant not just lived up to but well exceeded my expectation. Very friendly and enthusiastic staff from the waiters to the chefs. Lovely food on offer and the portion is all very generous. I personally went for Riso Nero and the platter of the fried seafood that were both marvellous. The décor of the restaurant has a strong maritime feel that added more authenticity to its seafood theme. Very popular among the locals so advance booking, even for lunch, is necessary to avoid disappointment.

I have nothing against to the owner but really nothing special for such price. I felt I was robbed after i paid almost 17 Euros for 5 mussles. Much lower quality than the overall Italian standards.

Best Spaghetti and seafood I ever ate. The dessert amazing too. All of this topped by the really friendly stuff. Totally recommend it!!

There are good options if you want a good meal for a far price. The past with seafood is perfect. You should taste it!

Delicious food once you get past the curtain over the door and the pub like decor. It's worth opening the door and venturing in though. They really look after you and the food is so tasty and great value. The desserts are also worth leaving room for. They catered well for our children too. Would definitely go back.

service is bad. we had to keep waving down the servers as we were invisible the whole time we were there. spaghetti with seafood was good but could barely feed a toddler. salad is just lettuce with vinegar and olive oil. the lemon cello was tasty. location is small with a few tables.

If I could give it more stars I would! We wanted to sample the local seafood and pasta and we had some of the best we've ever tasted. We had tomato and shrimp on crostini, it was so perfectly flavored the tomato and shrimp were the star! The salmon with crostini was another star! We also had Spaghetti with Clams and Spaghetti with a seafood tomato with cream sauce. Both were decadent!! The name translates to Sea Tavern and it delivers, feels like you are in a tall ship stateroom for your meal. Several tables with their own intimate areas. The service was great, while we speak minimal Italian, we got by and had a great experience Highly recommend

My wife and I went to Pisa for a quick visit. After seeing nothing that looked good, we spotted Livorno nearby. Good seafood is always found by the sea. A quick yelp search and we found Osteria del Mare. The restaurant is small and quaint. The service is friendly and relatively quick. Some English spoken. We managed between our weak Italian and their weak English and good Spanish. It looked like every table had the mixed seafood salad as an appetizer. Check. Giant bowl of mussels, clams, langostines, and oysters. Just get it. The Shrimp gnocchi were awesome. Homemade gnocchi that were creamy with beautiful garlicy cream sauce and super fresh shrimp. The seafood stew was the show stopper though. I was expecting a whimsy bowl of soup. Instead I got no less than 3-4 lbs of super fresh mixed seafood in a spicy tomato based broth. I looked at the waiter and asked if he left anything in the ocean. He didn't speak English but laughed and handed me a bib. Haha! There may be better food in Livorno, but this town was one and done for us. In the end it was one of the best meals of our vacation.

I cannot RAVE enough about this place! For background: my group was that of 5 American female students traveling back to Firenze from a beach day in Antignano. We were craving seafood and decided we were going to go somewhere to get an indulgent meal--appetizers and wine and likely desserts. We walked in right after they had opened and asked for a table for five, which they immediately set out to accommodate with a larger table top. we were the only customers for a while, and the staff was incredibly patient with our frustrating lack of Italian. We ordered the shrimp and tomato crostini and the salmon appetizers--I have never seen salmon look so good. It was several beautiful thin slices and the girls who had it (I am a white-fish only type of gal) raved. The shrimp appetizer was also super tasty. For dinner, we had two orders of the gnocchi and prawns, an order of salmon that was devoured, the spaghetti with mussels, and one other that I didn't get a visual of as she was across the table. We shared bites with one another while covering our own food-they were all incredible in different ways. Finally we got to dessert, and the cheesecake is not like American cheesecake. It was a frozen dessert, and the filling of the cheesecake had a consistency more near an ice cream like Halotop in that it was smooth and didn't melt, but wasn't heavy or exceedingly rich like you'd expect a cheesecake in NY or the states. The citrus zagblione (I believe there are a variety of spellings for this, and possibly regional differences given I've made Giada Di Laurentiss' version several times and it was quite different from what we were served). The zagblione was more like a syrupy-sauce that had a refreshing note of a citrus liqueur, served on top of some layered cake. Overall, it was incredible. We walked out unsure how a meal that quality could have only been what it was. TL;DR: this place is a MUST if you're a visitor looking for an authentic and indulgent experience, and it also happens that you won't break the bank!!

Wandering the streets at night we came upon this place randomly- but what luck! We have been in Along the coast of Italy for about 2 weeks and would have to say this was the best seafood pasta we have had. Very well priced, friendly and beautiful interior- highly recommended!

That place is just great. Starting with the nice setting and interior, also the staff is extremely nice and helpful . But the food!!!!! Just amazing!!! Both pasta and the fish was just great . I have now s reason to return to Livorno!
