For any Rugby lover visiting Rome, this HAS to be top of your list for somewhere to eat. Angelo, the owner, is a former player for the Italian National Team and has made his beautiful restaurant a shrine to the "game they play in heaven". The set course menu is excellent value for money and the food was truly authentic Roman cuisine. I gave the tripe a try for the first time in my life (when in Rome!) and found it......okay. The delicious sauce it was served in saved it. The service was fast, friendly and all waiters spoke excellent English and patiently explained the dish choices. Wonderfully authentic dining experience and.....did I mention the Rugby? 😊

Sorry to say the food was not good. Pasta was a tiny portion and overly salty. Secondi plates were not good at all, which I’ll let the pictures speak for itself. Service was good however hence an extra star for that.

Modest osteria near the Vatican museum. Inexpensive with a fixed price 3 course menu at 30euros which is a steal. It includes antipasti, Pasta, main course, and cookies with sweet wine for dessert.

Just visited the restaurant after a visit to the Vatican. If you are a tourist, avoid this restaurant. Bad service. We were prepare to get the fixed price menu but when we asked for chicken they said they had none. When we left, we saw chicken on the grill and given to some Italian diners at the table next to ours. We enjoy authentic experiences but this one was too authentic.

Very very traditional roman cucine with a fast service and simple & good courses. Good tradeoff between quality and price.. fixed menu of 30 euros

We are from Sydney Australia and dined here for dinner a few nights ago. It was a set menu which worked out well because it was authentic and we really enjoyed it. It was good price for a lot of food! We left feeling full. Although a set menu we were still able to have a preference on what was on offer. Four options for each course. We had an antipasti, pasta, meat with a side, then biscuits and sweet wine for dessert. It was reasonably priced and the food was very fresh and authentic. It was lovely being surrounded by Italians. Great house wine. Generous serves. Give it a try!

Best carbonara ever. 30 euro for set antipasta, pasta, meat, salad and desert. Very tasty food, house wine also the best. I would recommend take 1 liter of wine for such amount of food

Yelp
Service was good. Inside was nice and cozy. We had the fixed dinner menu because that was all they had for dinner. I had the vegetarian option. Food was average. Everything was super fresh. Pasta was too al dente for my liking & a bit too salty for me. I never had salt on my salad & didn't like the salad due to it having salt.

Yelp
Love this place. Neighborhood restaurant reminds me of my favorite NYC places -- tough at first then tough love then love. And great food! Get a reservation -- its a popular local spot.

Yelp
Great place for lunch, especially after the Papal Audience or Papal mass. The food was ok. Service sucked, but then again it's Italy and the place is owned by ex-Italian rugby players. What else can you expect? I'm looking forward to coming here during rugby season, which I'm hoping to have a great experience. But overall, I would recommend this as places to go in Rome.
