Osteria Flaminio

We stumbled upon this place a week ago. It is cozy and the staff are super friendly. We had a delicious meal paired with a nice white wine and finished with tasty desserts. We are returning tonight for dinner with friends!

Wonderful experience, I was looking for a taste of authentic Italian food and this was perfect! The staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The ideal restaurant for excellent food at a very reasonable price.

This is a great place if you’re looking for authentic Italian food. The people are wonderful. The food is incredible. The Italian carbonara you are chasing is here. But what’s better is the oxtail stew pasta! Do it. Also the tuna starter is great. It’s all great. Please visit if you’re even close enough.

Delightful! Do not pass this restaurant by, book early to ensure a table. A fabulous venue with an incredible atmosphere! The food was simple but perfection! 10 of us ate here at a price of roughly €40 per head! We had three courses, antipasto, main and dessert! All perfect, including wines and waters. I love this place and will come straight back here!

A hidden gem in Rome! We were well treated by the sweetest hostess and her colleagues and after a hard choice between many delicious dishes we had the best Carbonara ever. Add to this a great selection of wine and very reasonable prices and we have a place to return to!

Could not have been any more happy and impressed with our experience at Osteria Flaminio. Firstly, the service was of a very high standard. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome from the beginning. Our table ordered 2 x pasta alla gricia, 2 x carbonara and polpetti. They did not disappoint. We all enjoyed our meal and beautiful bottle of pinot Nero and will now leave Roma with a smile and this place in the back of our minds. Thanks again everybody at Osteria Flaminio, it was a pleasure!

The Tuna Steak was amazing!! So flavorful and tender. The other three dishes were good, but lacked a little flavor (that being said we all over season / flavor our food when we cook for ourselves). It was very fresh. Menu was in English and there was only a very minor language barrier. When I checked in I received a 5% discount. The main gentlemen seemed unaware and was skeptical but he supported it after talking through it with me. After he brought out a free dessert for our table and I left him a 10 Euro tip on our 116 Euro meal. Great decor and ambiance. Highly recommend!!

Insanely delicious meal prepared by a former Michelin star restaurant chef who enjoys the less stressful Osteria life. Located just, but safely outside the swirling madness and mess hall slop restaurants of the tourist areas, the staff and owners are wonderfully friendly, cheerful and hospitable! Every dish was sensational and did not overwhelm or underperform against any of the other dishes. Each dish had its own distinct flavors and appeal. That said, the Cacio e Pepe was sensational!

This is an amazing food experience. Stop there because it was a local restaurant nearby. The staff was amazing, although they don't speak a whole lot of English. They made great food recommendations, and wine pairings. The owner was warm and welcoming, the ambience was incredible. The restaurant was mostly Roman families with few tourists, which tells you about the food quality. Strongly recommend.

We went to see the fantastically assertive , confidently voluptuous work by the late great Dame Zaha Hadid-- Roma's new museum (called MAXXI) nearby and in this considerably outskirt-ish area of the city (vis a vis Pantheon / Navona/ the Vatican/ et al) and having worked up a nice appetite gaping and aweing at art and the sweeping architecture, yelp, upon queuing 'homemade pasta' in search led us, thankfully, to this osteria. Being Friday in a predominantly catholic city, they were featuring an all seafood buffet- not the cheap Golden Corral types in the states but quality prepared , fresh seafood: large prawns, stewed octopus tails and another 20 others including roasted verdure, two types of pasta, roasted salmon and white fish , 3 types of deep fried whole fish, etc. We were the only tourists seemingly as everyone else were conversing w/ owners and servers and hosts. Our waitress was helpful and friendly and welcoming. A nice break from the tourist epi-center... if in the area to visit MAXXI and while the museum has an oh so cool cafe..., recover and refuel, instead, here!

Had a wonderful meal here for a decent price...bread, water, wine, antipasti, primi and dessert for €35. The food was delicious and freshly made, the staff was very kind. They also have free wifi just ask for the password! I would definitely dine here again, a nice local spot.

My family and I are staying in an apartment in the neighborhood, and our host suggested this local restaurant. Our waitress spoke very little English, but we spoke just enough Italian to laugh and giggle throughout the night. Our waitress was superb, and very professional. The food was outstanding, and deliciously layered. We enjoyed several bottles of wine, antipasti, dinners and deserts for 5, and spent under 200 euro. It has been the measuring stick we've used to judge other locally prepared foods.

Cute. small. trendy. Good pasta. Perfect for date night. Nice staff. Some speak a little English. Know your Italian!
