The 42 Best Restaurants in Rome

"Fratelli Mori is an upgrade on the neighborhood osteria, but still rustic with wooden, family-style tables, an open kitchen and pantry, and Roman poetry calligraphed all over its walls. This is Roman dining at its best: simple, but not rough around the edges, with quality dishes made with love. Whether you're looking to host a family reunion or get a crew of old friends back together, this is the place. It's fun, it's friendly, and totally no-fuss." - Maresa Manara

Just a wonderful family Osteria. The care with the ingredients is evident from the carefully composed salad to the tasty lamb chops. Excellent wine list, good choices also available by the glass. Nice bonus: great craft beers are also available. When in Rome, this is a great place to taste authentic Roman cuisine. The restaurant is easily accessible by Metro B

I was very pleased with my visit. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. Prices were average for Rome and absolutely fair. The restaurant also had a lovely atmosphere.

We had a great dinner at this restaurants a bit out of the city center of Rome. They have an area where we could sit outside which was perfect as we wanted to enjoy the warm weather of the evening. We enjoyed fried zucchini flowers filled with talleggio cheese, pork cheeks, a delicious caponata amd for dessert they had the option of getting smaller portions of 3 of the dessert to be able to taste more - that was a treat for me. It looks like this was a restaurant that had a lot of local guests and that is a good sign. You can get here by taking the metro and it is only a couple of stops from the Colosseum.

It was a Sunday, my last day in Rome, all the restaurants were full at lunch. I was alone. I tried two other restaurants, no go. I walked in and the host said, “we are full”. I put my puppy eyes on said,” all I want is a salad and pasta”. It was 1:00pm, “can you be done by 2:00?”. “100%”. I had the best puntarelle salad of my trip, full of anchovies and not drenched in oil and vinegar like the others I have had. It was a so refreshing. For the pasta, Cacio e Pepe, so many I have had, had sauces that are stiff and only a step above macaroni and cheese. This serving was creamy, cheese and water, it is a miracle. The pecorino shined through with balancing pepper. Fantastico!!! I finished by 1:45pm, thank you for letting me in…

Senza Parole. Hands down the best food I’ve had in Rome. Osteria Fratelli Morì blew me out of the water. The service was prompt, friendly, professional, and their recommendations were spot on! The coda meatballs (oxtail) were so unbelievably delicious. The artichokes romana were beyond delicious, the best I have ever eaten! I had the special gnocchi pasta with artichoke and my partner had the amatriciana. Both pastas were phenomenal. The flavor profile and attention to quality was unbeatable. I highly recommend the dessert trio sampler. We can’t wait to run back to this authentic and exceptionally delicious osteria.

Loved it! The food (starter, main and desert) and the recommended wine were just perfect. We had a reservation with a table allocated inside, but we asked for a table outside — and they helped us get exactly what we wanted.

The restaurant is in the Ostiense neighborhood of Rome: not really in the touristic center of the city but it’s conveniently located close to the “Piramide” subway station (just to give an idea: it’s a 45 minute ride from the Vatican City, and a 20 minute ride from the Colosseum). It’s a family run restaurant since 2004, very well known in Rome: it is very difficult to get a table if you don’t have a reservation. The dining room is big and very rustic with lots of pictures on the wall and bottles of wine in display. We shared the fiori di zucchini (zucchini flowers) appetizer with our friends, then I tried the pasta carbonara while my husband had a pasta amatriciana. The food is great, and the portions are pretty big: too bad I didn’t have any room for a homemade dessert. The staff is very friendly, and the prices were low, considering the quality of the food We will definitely return the next time that we’re in Rome!
