Osteria La Pergola

Osteria La Pergola is one of those rare places where everything just feels right from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff treat you like old friends rather than customers. The service is fast, but never rushed — everyone there genuinely seems to care that you have a great experience. The food is absolutely amazing. Every dish feels authentic and made with love — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and varied enough that you always find something new to try. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion that goes into every plate. It’s one of those restaurants where you instantly feel at home. You leave with a full stomach, a big smile, and the feeling that you’ve just shared a meal among friends. I can’t recommend it enough — a real gem that I’ll definitely be coming back to again and again.

Food was terrific. Unique flavor combinations and ingredients. Service was outstanding (thank you Giovanni!). Dinner for three, including a bottle of house wine, was €111. Excellent value.

Excellent pasta and gnocchi. The waiter was attentive and charismatic. The terrace is very nice looking and the bathrooms are super clean.

Price is so much higher and isn’t worth it. Worst meal we’ve had in Venice

Just had an amazing 8 course seafood Christmas lunch. Every course well prepared. The main fish course prepared perfectly.

The owner is very charismatic and attentive, the food was excellent, we enjoyed a variety of local dishes, including Baccala' Mantecato, Schie with polenta, and Capesante al forno, the Risotto with Asparagus and Shrimp was excellent, portions are fair, would have liked larger portions as you would expect at an Osteria. They offer a great house Prosecco and homemade desserts. The ambiance is charming and the decor appropriate. Pricing was on the higher-end for an Osteria, the bathroom facilities are upstairs, not wheelchair accessible and not very clean and maintained.

Giovanni was the best host ever! He explained the whole menu and recommended very good wine. The food was excellent and the place itself is charming. Grazie per tutto!

What a find! Stayed nearby to see Venice and found the best food we've had in 6 months of full time travel (Portugal, Germany, Croatia & more). Giovanni (owner & waiter was personable and helpful). Food was outstanding. We had caponeta di verdure dell'orto, bottled water, half bottle Cabernet, two spaghettoni 'Benetto Calvavieri' all Amatraiciana' fresh pasta. So tasty! 50 eu. First class service, food and drink. Atmosphere is a 10, relaxing. Do yourself a favor and eat here!
