Friuli-Venezia Giulia Is an Italy Far Removed from Its Stereotypes

"The other is La Subida, a family establishment outside Cormons - a hotel with beautiful, country-style rooms and two excellent restaurants. The Michelin-starred Trattoria al Cacciatore serves up thoughtfully prepared Friulian dishes with Slovenian influences; as the name suggests, game is usually on the menu, as is their famous olive-oil-filled tortelli. Their second restaurant, L'Osteria, is a more rustic affair, though equally delicious."

Interesting place and fantastic terace under a hughe oak tree. Rustical but very nice food and atmosphere. Fantastic to relax.

Everything was perfect, in fact even better than expected. The food was excellent, the cocktail and wines amazing and the waiters really friendly and with good advice on the choices. The prosciutto, matured 36 months, we shared as an apertiser was a revelation. Top marks for this top quality restaurant and staff.

This was our second visit to Osteria La Preda - La Subita and certainly not the last. We had the most wonderful lunch here this time, thanks to Thomas, who skillfully paired and admirably presented some great regional wines with the delicious food.

Great location, friendly and polite staff, food is amazing and average price for this kind of restaurant. Not a huge selection of food but the wine list hasn’t and end. Probably the best in the area

Nice atmosphere. Somewhat expensive for food. (20 Euro for 6 small pieces of cheese 🤣🤣🤣). Ok service but can be more sincere.

The food was brilliant, but the service wasn't. For example, they brought out the starter and primi piatti at the same time and reacted with indifference when we told them. So we had to start with the warm pasta, then have the cold tartar, which is okay, it can happen, but it was carelessness of the service that bothered us.
