Delicious, traditional, home cooking. If you want to experience real Italian cuisine and eat with locals, this is your place. Hand written menu that I assume changes with varying specialties of prima and secondo options. We had the tortellini with butter, sage, and speck. It was so simple, yet so delicious. Reminded me of my Nonna's cooking. A perfect taste of Padova.

The spaghetti alle vongole was the best I have had! Good size clams and the pasta was not soggy. Tried the liver too and it is good with polenta! Highly recommend to get reservations beforehand as they do get busy (I tried same day reservations twice and failed)

Initially thought it was a student type of bar but more like a neighbourhood restaurant and bar.
We were here on a midweek afternoon.

The dining experience is truly incredible. The food was absolutely delicious - we had seafood sphagetti, chicken bukatini, tiramisu and pear chocolate cake. Wow 🤩
The service is great as well. Friendly staff and cool ambience. I will definitely recommend this place.

Our visit to Osteria L'Anfora in Padua was exceptional. The evening began with fresh mussels in a delicate white wine sauce, setting a high bar for the night. The mains—spaghetti vongole and rabbit—were outstanding. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the rabbit was tender and flavorful. A classic tiramisu ended the meal on a high note, light and rich with coffee and cocoa.
The local white wine we paired with our meal was sensational, enhancing every dish. The service was attentive and fantastic, with friendly staff who clearly love what they do. This popular spot for locals is a true gem. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine and hospitality in Padua.

Amazing place, food and wine were divine. We had the starter platter, seafood, special pasta with mushrooms and salsiccia, and tiramisu for dessert and everything was delicious. Also, great wine selection. The place has a great vibe and it's centrally located.

Yelp
Osteria L'Anfora is a small restaurant offering regional food at moderate prices in a locale a couple of blocks from the large piazzas.
The night we ate there it was filled with a mixture of tourists and locals.
No English menu but one of the waitresses was Argentine so we ordered in Spanish. Lots of super fresh seafood.
If you want a table outside, call in advance and make a reservation.
One complaint and maybe this is a cultural thing: a couple sitting at the bar had their dog with them. A large dog. The dog barked -- very loudly -- almost the whole time we were at the restaurant. The guy shouted at his dog from time to time, but other than that did nothing. You would have thought the couple would have taken the dog for a walk and returned when he had calmed down. Or that the owner would have said something.
Nope.
I found it distracting. The other customers seemed pretty chill.

Yelp
I don't see my original review here, so I'll try to remember. This is a small place in the Jewish Ghetto area of Padua. I would definitely recommend calling for a reservation. I came in around 6:30 pm but they were booked. They offered me a seat at the bar and I agreed and put my name down and then came back. The food was very good as well as the service. Some locals there were known to the staff, so it's kind of an Italian "Cheers". I actually forgot what I had but it must have been seafood since that's been my predominant diet since arriving here in Padua. I would go back again but would make a reservation first. There are only a few tables outside.

Yelp
Delicious food, warm and cozy vibe, speedy and patient staff; what's not to love?
This was our first dinner stop in Italy, and remains my favorite from our trip. The waitress explained all the main courses on the menu and everyone was very pleased with their orders. Satisfying, affordable, great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Delightful authentic food just a bit off the beaten track. Famous for their bigale with duck ragu, which my daughter loved. I enjoyed the orrechiete with broccoli and smoked ricotta. We shared a tasty fritto misto and local wine. Very reasonable price. Not gourmet, but a fun place where locals go. You may share a table at a busy time.
