Osteria Marise

This is a very nice neighborhood restaurant frequented by locals, e.g. at lunch time you will see people with their work badges taking a lunch break with coworkers and friends; at dinner time you will see locals accidentally running into their friends from a different table. They are also friendly to visitors, and they speak fluent English. The menu is written on the board in Italian, but the waiter/host is very happy to translate and explain the menu. The restaurant is quite small so I highly recommend making a reservation, because most likely they won’t take walk-ins. You can make a reservation by filling out an online form on their website and they usually get back to you very quickly. The food is very hearty and good. I would say it tastes very comfortable. The portion size is very generous and I would say this restaurant has the highest quality-to-price ratio in Trieste. Unbeatable value. For two people you can get a three-course meal (some dishes to share because the portions are very generous!) for under 50 euros; if you only get a two course dinner you can do it at about 15 euros per person. Great value!

Lucky to have been there. If you can, get a reservation. The 2 of us had the luck to get a table without reservation. The food, the service and the ambience was amazing.

After visiting the Miramare Castle back on Monday March 24th, I came across Osteria Marise and they really did not disappoint. I was ordering my Dinner by speaking Italian most of the time and the experience was incredible. I had the Potato Gnocchi with Beef Goulash, Red Wine, and Crema Di Mascarpone. The server was very friendly and the place was packed that night.

The pasta here is next-level—fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. Salad with speck and cheese was seriously amazing. Cozy place, friendly staff. Definitely coming back!

This place is incredible. The owners are so kind. The food was so delicious and fresh. I ate everything else before I could take a picture. If you're in Trieste, you have to go here! Make a reservation.

Lovely intimate restaurant with very friendly staff ! Menu is on wall and you. An go to the bar area for the drinks . The tuna tartare is delicious. !

We had an amazing lunch at this great restaurant featuring a small but very nice selection of local meat and fish dishes. Can highly recommend
