Остерія Пантагрюель, a warm haven in Kyiv’s culinary scene, serves up fresh, handmade pastas and an extensive Italian wine collection near the Golden Gate.

Facing the Golden Gate, the entrance of the restaurant opens into a vestibule, which splits into two dining areas, each featuring its own bar. This unique layout contributes to an intriguing dining experience. I visited the restaurant twice—once for lunch and once for dinner—and found it pleasantly uncrowded both times. Normally, I enjoy a quiet meal, but the combination of dim lighting and dark wooden furniture, reminiscent of an old English pub, cast a somewhat somber mood. Nevertheless, the service and food were good.

A perfect authentic Italian osteria in the middle of Kyiv. Beautiful views too.
You won’t find a tourist style menu with mozzarella bar here but there are all the necessary staples like carpaccio and bruschetta as well as unusual classics like tagliatelle with bone marrow and truffle or baby squid, stuffed with shrimp. There’s also a special menu that changes frequently which many guest love.
The wine cellar has plenty that none of the local wine shops have to offer, particularly some of the older vintages chiantis and barolos. There’s a sommelier here, never feel uncomfortable asking for advice.

Quick service, meals taste very good and look appetizing. Extensive Italian wine menu. Worth the a bit higher than average price.

This restaurant definitely deserves the good reviews it has on here.
The service was brilliant, the food was freshly cooked and especially the pasta was fabulous.
Sitting right next to the golden gate just tops it off overall.
Definitely a recommendation!

Amazing food and service, worth visiting. Not the cheapest place though.
Also great location, terrace is located away from road and in the shadow of the building so it's pretty chill.

4.5/5 very good Italian restaurant with handmade pastas. I had the Cacio e pepe, salmon ravioli, and minestrone soup for almost 1000 UAH. Definitely expensive but the food was very good. The pastas tasted fresh and used high quality ingredients. The soup was also fantastic and the vegetables and broth tasted very good and fresh, as well. The sauce they created for the Cacio e pepe was a bit salty, but didn't make it taste bad just a bit salty. Overall in the top 7 best Italian restaurants for pasta in Ukraine, in my opinion. Not the best, but one of them. Would recommend!
