A pleasant and enjoyable experience overall. This is a classic, no-frills osteria — nothing particularly unusual or inventive, but everything was well-prepared and tasty. We had a mixed fried seafood platter and some wine. The food was fresh and flavorful, though the portions were slightly smaller compared to other places we've been to. A good, solid choice if you're looking for a traditional osteria meal in a relaxed setting.

Octopus was burned, not good at all. Inside was gummy. However the seasoning was good. Also service. And the place was also nice.

They open around 20h00. Food was really delicious, well portioned, and well priced. Drinks also well priced. One of our better meals in the area. Family run business. The mother is very friendly and organised. The waitress needs a bit more patience, can be much friendlier, and looks as if she enjoys her time. The male can speak English, no small talk - I don't think he wants to be there either. Recommend

Arrived hot and bothered to have lunch. The most unwelcoming welcome. We ordered drinks and on the basis of the miserable waitresses decided to pay for our drinks and eat elsewhere. We were charged 6 each for a cover charges I questioned this “I put the glass on the table for you”. Anyway avoid if you can as so many lovely, hospitable places to eat in Bari - this just isn’t one of them!

Food and wine was good. Family is working, waiter is speaking english. We took several dishes, everything was ok, not perfect Except traditional bari meal with potatoes, that is perfect!

Really nice local restaurant. Super food and really nice atmosphere! Friendy staff. Menu is spoken. They serve a “food of the day” with 3 options for main and starter. Try it ! You will be amazed

Very nice local restaurant in the old town. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We also had a bottle of local wine. It was about the best food we have had during our time in Bari and the most reasonably priced. It is very popular with locals.

It was my just "walk in" osteria while my walk in Bari. The service was very friendly, very nice and attentive. The food was also super good, really cozy small and nice place. 5 out of 5.

Yelp
Antica Osteria Vini e Cucina Paglionico in Old Bari is an authentic Barese culinary experience. It is a no nonsense typical eatery in a typical structure of the region. Inside an arched sottano made of Pugliese stones and bricks, you will be served simple but delicious food made from what is fresh and available at the time. The food is brought to the table immediately after it is prepared, still sizzling and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere and service is unhurried, so make sure you have set aside enough time to enjoy from start to finish. The prices are quite reasonable. Go with an open mind and a sense of adventure and you'll be amply rewarded. I certainly was. The Paglionico family has owned the business forever and Nico is the current owner. Bravo!
