Ostraco, Mykonos, Greece - Explore & Book

"Mykonos, the original Cycladic haunt of the 1960s, is back in vogue. And the in-place to lay your head is the stylishly minimal Ostraco. It sits on a hill above the impossibly pretty horseshoe-harbour of Chora, with long views out to a scudding blue sea. Guests lounge around on sumptuously cushioned day-beds in shaded pergolas, or top up their tans on white-clad sunloungers around an amoeba-shaped pool. In the evening, the place comes alive with music, lanterns, cocktails and a party-soul bartender: a fitting prelude for a night on the tiles (or rather cobbles) of Chora’s labyrinthine alleys, glitzy restaurants and laid-back dance clubs. But it's the supremely cool interiors that really take your breath away: rustic and retro design details adorn a backdrop so brilliantly white that you’ll be wearing your Armani shades inside. And it could not be more romantic: twinkling views, heated outdoor Jacuzzis in some suites, even a pair of immaculate chapels on hand in case you pop the question. Highs The rooms’ pared-down aesthetic is the last word in Greek island chicWith 22 rooms and suites, the mood is intimate and sociable (it is still family-owned)Manager Stella and her excellent team provide faultless, friendly serviceYou can take a day-trip to ancient Delos, shop (or bop) till you drop in Chora’s designer boutiques and clubs, hang out among the perfect bodies of Paradise beach, or jump on a bus or fishing boat to a quieter cove Lows Some road noise in the rooms nearest the streetIt’s a steep 10-minute walk (or short taxi ride) into townSome outdoor areas feel overlookedMykonos is the most expensive island in Greece, and Ostraco’s rates reflect this" - Melinda McDougall

Ostraco Suites (Mykonos, Greek Islands) 8 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"As a travel destination Mykonos is certainly no well-kept secret, its streets and beaches often crowded with throngs of tourists. Novelty isn’t everything, though, and the considerable natural charms of the Greek islands are still there to be experienced, if you know where to look." - Tablet Hotels

Loved the chilled vibe of this hotel, tastefully decorated, great little restaurant, breakfast was fabulous and never a problem getting somewhere round the wonderful pool! The staff were fantastic, always walking the pool area to see if you’d like a drink, the restaurant staff remembered our drinks/food orders and the reception team approached us to see if we’d like to keep the room on for a few hrs after checkout, at no extra cost (obviously this is dependent on arrivals) we were also given loads of advice on local places to visit and places to eat, all were fantastic. Honestly don’t have anything negative to say

Upon arrival we had a cocktail party with a bit of food planned. Food was lovely and cocktails were nice. The bill however needed to be reviewed as we had drinks on there that weren’t drank by our group. The hotel rectified this and the bill was paid ||My room had a gorgeous bathroom with a stone like decor with a bath that looked like it was carved. Bed was really comfy although the sofa wasn’t. I don’t know if it was meant to be a bed but they happily put three of us in the room and the girl who slept on the sofa said it wasn’t great. We had floating chair and a sofa outside our room. |Molton Brown shower gel and shampoo and conditioner in our room. Towels were good and changed every day. Sometimes twice a day. We were also provided with a bath robe. |Coffee machine with complimentary capsules and a chargeable mini bar. |Some of our groups had a hot tub with their room. They’re small but lovely. Some of the views from the rooms are stunning. |Prices at this hotel are on the steep side, €40 for wine and €20 ish for cocktails. Soft drinks €5 Pork gyros €23 but that gyros was gorgeous and well worth it. |Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. It’s made to order and the lattes were lovely. Fresh juice and pastries given too. |Pool area is nice. Being early season it’s on the cool side and being up high it gets windy|Hotel provides beach bags which was a really nice touch|Staff were lovely. Markella was an absolute delight, always cheery and smiling. Atonis is also really nice and Theo in the breakfast area was sweet too. |There are a lot of cats around the hotel. They’re just so cute and very friendly, they don’t beg they just like your company and a bit of a fuss sometimes|The hotel overlooks a busy road with a roundabout at the top and it can get noisy especially in the mornings but it didn’t ruin our stay. |Thanks for a great 4 nights ❤️

Ostraco Suites is absolutely WOW. We have been all across Europe, including most of Greece, the Caribbean numerous times and further afield, but this hotel is by far the best place we have ever stayed in. ||The hotel is chic and modern but with the classic Greek designs. The pool area is lovely, a great variety of beds and designs. The rooms are equally as nice and stylish. There are really comfy beds, great walk in showers whilst keeping in the design I mentioned above. There are nice little touches all over the hotel. ||Food is amazing also. The A la carte breakfast is so yummy with lots of variety and it feels like you are dining out every time you go to breakfast. We ate dinner at the restaurant also, which was equally as good. ||But what really makes this place is the staff and the feeling they create around the hotel. Nothing is too much, they are so friendly, attentive and they make an effort to get to know you throughout the week. Alex runs the pool area/bar and he is really lovely. All of the staff are great and sorry we can’t recall all their names. ||No matter how busy the town or beaches get, this hotel is always as tranquil as ever. As soon as you step foot back into the gates it’s like a feeling of relief and relaxation. We can’t speak highly enough of the hotel, staff and all the services offered. We would just like to say thank you for an amazing holiday and for being so attentive, particularly with our 1 year old daughter. We can’t wait to come back to Mykonos and explore it more and we will certainly be re booking Ostraco. It’s truly a hidden gem.

This was by far the best of the three “island hopping” hotels we stayed in. It has a lovely boutique atmosphere- almost like a little white Greek village with different types of room - some have hot tub (which we had) and some with a plunge pool. The hot tub was welcome after the steep climb up from Mykonos town!! The compensation for the climb is stunning views over the town and the bay - would never tire of that view. Also as mentioned by others the location makes for a tranquil oasis away from the frantic bustle of the old town. The room decor matches the white village theme - quite minimalist but luxurious. Big bathrooms and walk in shower and extremely comfortable beds. Fridge and water supplied daily - the only hotel we had to provide water every day. Little touches by the friendly staff make all the difference. |As others have said the breakfasts are brilliant - made to order - no wilting buffet here, everything freshly cooked a la carte and served to you - and everything you could want. ||We travel a lot and this was one of our favourite hotels - would not hesitate to return.

I don’t usually write reviews as often as I should, despite how much we travel—as a couple, with family, and for business, several times a year. I even work in the cruise industry, so I’ve seen my fair share of hotels. But this place? It deserves a moment in the spotlight!||First off, I feel terrible for not asking for there names, but I think the team is led by Alex, Sophia, and a few others who all deserve a shout-out. It’s a small team—or at least it feels that way because the service is so personal and intimate.||This hotel is a true hidden gem! Normally, I’m quick to spot things that could be improved—whether it's a tiny cleanliness issue or something not quite right. But here? There was literally nothing to complain about. Everything was absolutely flawless.||I’m lying in my own bed now after getting back home, and let me tell you—I usually can’t wait to be back in my own bed. But this time? I actually miss *their* bed!||The staff are phenomenal. They can’t do enough for you, and it feels so genuine. They make you feel like family, and you can sense their passion for what they do. It’s not just a job for them—it’s a calling, and it shows in every interaction.||The rooms are stunning, a perfect mix of modern flair with traditional Greek island charm. And spotless! They’re cleaned twice a day, likely as part of a luxurious turndown service (which apart from a luxury 6* hotel in Dubai, I’ve never had) Everything feels so fresh and crisp, from the linens to the little details around the room. It’s the kind of place where you just feel cared for.||As for the food, the drink prices are what you'd expect for Mykonos—not the cheapest island in Greece, but we knew that going in. We had lunch one day—a pizza and a toasted sandwich—and it was absolutely delicious! But the real standout? *Breakfast!* Hands down one of the best breakfast menus I’ve ever experienced, with impeccable service from the food and beverage team. It was next-level. Please do not change how your doing this!!! ||The entire hotel is super clean, well-kept, and full of thoughtful little touches. Everything is modern, fresh, and welcoming. ||In short, this place is pure magic—don’t hesitate, just book it!|||Message to the hotel: |If I was gonna change anything, *not a moan*||1) Sun loungers get some of them sunbeds that you can adjust! The ones you have are perfectly fine by the way just I like to sit up and lay down! ||2) Have an iron and ironing board, not a steamer just for speed! ||Please don’t change we will certainly come back ||Ash & Kay
