Cost was 80 cedis for non citizens and 8 cedis for Ghanaians. I was so happy to be able to visit Osu Castle. It does hold a lot of history. Parking was easy/free. It does have security as it’s a govt building. Everyone was nice and my tour guide was amazing. I went when it first opened so it wasn’t crowded at all.

An impressive place that gives a good insight into the mischief perpetrated by various European countries, as well as into Ghana's more recent history. The castle is not as crowded as Cape Coast. We had an excellent guide, Hassan. It's a shame that the maintenance work isn't progressing... (therefor the 4 instead of 5)

Learned a lot about the history of the Christianburg castle. Staff were receptive and they offer guided tours.

A Hidden Gem: OSU Castle, a Window into Ghana's History I recently visited the OSU Castle, and I was impressed by the rich history and cultural significance it holds. This lesser-known gem offers a unique insight into the dark history of European colonization and the transatlantic slave trade, as well as Ghana's struggle for independence. What sets OSU Castle apart is its relatively peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a more intimate and reflective experience. Our guide, Hassan, was exceptional, sharing vivid stories and anecdotes that brought the history to life. However, it's clear that the castle is in need of better maintenance and management. The infrastructure could benefit from some TLC, and more resources are needed to attract tourists and boost revenue for the local community. I urge the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture to take notice and invest in this incredible historical site. With proper management and support, OSU Castle has the potential to become a major tourist destination, showcasing Ghana's rich cultural heritage and contributing to the country's economic growth. If you're interested in history, culture, and a unique experience, OSU Castle is a must-visit. Just be sure to ask for Hassan – he's an excellent guide! Recommendations: - Improve maintenance and infrastructure - Increase awareness and marketing efforts to attract more tourists - Provide training and resources for guides to enhance the visitor experience - Consider partnerships with local communities to boost economic benefits

THIS IS THE OLD PRESIDENCY OF THE PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT BY FORMAL PRESENT RAWLINGS. FAIRLY ABANDON BUT STILL BEING USED BY THE NATIONAL SECURITY. THE OSU CATTLE IS GOOD TORRIST ATTRACTION. IS CLOSER TO THE BEACH FROM TIME TO TIME YOU SEE SOME GHANIAN AND FOREIGNER VIEWING SERENITY OF THE BEACH.
