O'Sullivan's Courthouse Pub

Lovely pub - just spoiled by the 1 staff we encountered. I said hello 3 times (as the only customer), so did the next guy that came in. Kinda ruined it for me. But seems like it would have a great atmosphere when it gets going.

Stopped into O’Sullivan’s Courthouse Pub in Dingle on a lazy afternoon, and enjoyed a quiet pint of Guinness. Forgive the 1 star for food, as I don’t know if they do food or have any food, I didn’t notice anything and was only there for 1 Guinness. The quiet wasn’t a bad thing - at this time of day we were the only people here. The bar man was friendly, it felt like stepping back in time a little bit as I quietly sat in some local history. The walls had some fun graffiti, I didn’t have a pen or anything interesting to write, but if I did I may have tried to add something. I loved learning about how things were once upon a time for the courthouse in Dingle. I walked in purely because my last name was Sullivan, and that seemed as good a reason as any for a beer here. I think the owners of the Pub are musicians - and the space does look like the sort of place where on the right night, with the right gig on, it would be a great place to be. But as an introvert who had spent the day exploring, I was very happy to be here on a quiet afternoon. Regardless of your surname, or the time of day, if you’re in Dingle and this place is open, consider popping in for a beer - or two, or three.

Great live Irish music, really cool decor and friendly service

Get there before 8:30pm to get a good seat. The live music roughly starts by 9pm. The night that we went to was a duo with guitar & flutes, loved it. They did some of their own music and did some classic Irish tunes as well.

On a recent stay in Dingle, we ended up at O'Sullivan's for drink, music and craic. We got healthy doses of each, along with an adventure. The lights went out turns out it was the entire area, but without missing a beat, the owners son behind the bar, as well as all the other servers, brought candles to each table, a few in front of the band, and didn't forget to put some in the toilets. What's better that a great night that gave me a story to tell forever.

Me and my buddies went to hike the Dingle Way and stopped for a few days in Dingle; the O'Sullivan pub was our nightly rendez-vous, regardless of our bad the weather was to get there from our wild camp site a mile away. A great atmosphere, with all generations present, local musicians who just start playing together for hours, and I am guessing a Guinness source underneath the pub, because it never stops pouring! I will definitely go back there the next time I travel to Ireland - a must visit.

We had such a great time here two nights in a row. Tommy is such a kind man and he plays great trad along with everyone we saw there. Caroline Keane on concertina was particularly great and the staff are very kind. Just watch your head.

This is the place if you want to find a true community experience, as well as the best traditional music anywhere! It is lively and fun, and the Guinness is the BEST! The owners really care about everyone who comes in and it shows!

Great place to often enjoy excellent live music. Authentic, fun pub in downtown Dingle.

If I lived in or near Dingle, I'd be a regular here. From the moment we walked in and heard live trad music and were waited on right away at the bar, I was happy. Then the music swept me away to my happy place and I was lost there till the music ended for the night. Tommy O'Sullivan and Jeremy Spencer played a brilliant set tonight--a mix of vocal pieces and instrumentals that had the audience shouting approval after every song. Brilliant! And my gin and tonic was good too:)

Ended up here three nights in a row. The musicians were remarkable, and the folks here came to listen. Not the pub for carousing. Enjoyed my whiskey, and had lots of good conversation. Also, the urinals in the men's room are worth a special trip. Imaginative use of beer kegs.

Great place for live traditional music. There isn't food to speak of, but there are plenty of good drink options.

Pure craic! A real musical experience. The most non-traditional music around. Thanks for a fun evening.

Excellent music. Good craic. We had seen the owner perform at the St. James Church concert series and came over afterward. If you want to see traditional Irish music and incredible musicians, this is the place to go. It is cash only so make sure to bring some with you.

We had a great time in O'Sullivans last night. Much crack and the music was excellent. The owner and his wife, along with a couple of additional musicians played the whole time we were there. Nice lively crowd and the music was great. There was a special connection for us since the owner's wife (Saundra) is from Texas and she welcomed us. Too bad we weren't here when they make good Texas BBQ, maybe next trip! I think Irelanders are still learning about that, but hey, if I can eat blood pudding and enjoy it, you guys need to try BBQ!!! Craft beer selection met our needs well and the bar area was a nice place to roost and enjoy the venue. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming as well.

My husband, sister, and I enjoyed several pints and some traditional Irish music at O'Sullivan's Courthouse Pub in Dingle. We arrived about an hour before the band started to play so we were able to grab one of the few tables near the stage. About 20 minutes before the band started the pub was packed so arrive early if you want seat. Those that arrived after the music started were forced to stand. TIP: Watch for the low hanging beams. My husband had to duck to prevent hitting his head.

This is one of Dingle's many amazing pubs for experiencing true Irish music and craic! Tommy and Saundra have their fingers right on the pulse of what makes people tick. It's a pleasure to see this place packed to the rafters with people enjoying the music and taking in the atmosphere! As previously mentioned, take heed if you are taller than 6ft! But you will want to sacrifice standing for sitting on a stool! Enjoy!!

Probably my favorite small pub in the world. I've been there twice and there's always so much craic! Bartender (I forget her name) is the best in town. Live Irish music played by the owner of the pub almost nightly. My friend banged his head on the incredibly low ceilings! What a unique place. A must when in Dingle for sure.

No tv, no jukebox, no pool table. But they have great music, 7 nights a week Beer garden and wifi!

Awesome trad session - looking at the pictures it seems we saw the same people as many others. Around 8 musicians sitting round in a circle having a great time and coming in and out of various tunes as it suited. The night I was there they were joined by a young American as well as a local lad so young he was only able to drink coke! You really felt that you were in the heart of a well orchestrated but spontaneous night of music. Added to which they had an interesting selection of beer including McGargle's Uncle Jim's Stout which was delicious and made an interesting change from Guinness. Lots of tourists from about 9-10pm on a Monday after which it thinned out a lot - but the band kept going and making great music. Highly highly recommended - we went to a LOT of pubs in Dingle and this was the best for me...

This pub looks a bit strange from the outside, with its bright blue façade and tiny windows, but it's worth ducking in the door (literally). Once stepping inside, you can tell the place has been there for a long while. In particular, watch your head as you step to the bar, just right of the door. A low beam will say hello if you're of the taller variety. The bar stocks a variety of both standard beers and locally-brewed ones. Give them a try. The Cronins cidre is very good. Staff is quite friendly and chatty. If you get here early, like we did, you'll be one of the few people in the bar. Traditional music starts around 9pm seven days a week. Be wary, though, as tourists will flood into the bar starting around 8:30-9pm. When we left around 11, the place was packed with tourists. There were very few locals in there that night.

I'll keep this short because I agree with all the reviews before me...this place is fantastic. They don't serve food, but their beer selection is great and their music is spectacular! Get there early to snag a good spot and stake your claim. Music starts around 9pm.

I visited probably 20 trad sessions during my week in Ireland, including scads in Galway, and this was the best of them. I had the privilege of the best seat in the house to see Tommy (who was a member of the excellent Celtic band Sliabh Notes), Conor Moriarty (an all-Ireland accordion player I later found out!), and a banjo player whose name I wish I had. A major highlight of my week in Ireland.

Went in the afternoon. Not busy at all. Bartender was nice and welcoming. One of the patrons helped me find traditional Irish music on iTunes. Pub T-shirts for sale. Cash only.

We spent a lyrical evening of really good Irish music, with the owner playing guitar. A female violin / vocalist played also, and they were both really very good. The audience was engaged & engaging! Highly recommended!

I've been looking for this traditional Irish Pub all my life! Well, at least for the last 2 weeks that I've been in Ireland! Full bar, but who cares! Beer Beer Beer is what sells here! And that's about it!, Go after dinner at The Old Smokehouse and you will not be sorry!, Yes, you can't be tall, since the building from the 1600's has a low ceiling! Deal with it and enjoy! The music is what you'll go for and you WILL have fun!,,

4th of July and we were at a Pub in Kinsale and having a 4th of July Texas BBQ! Tommy O'Sullivan and Caroline Keane played a couple of hours during/afterwards. Great Beer. Great food.(not normally served I believe). Great Music. The place was packed. Watch your head. Some of the ceiling beams are low for a 6 footer. No better place to have been that night. Our stay was 2 nights in Dingle but, when (not if) we get back there again, we'll definitely head back to Tommy's pub.

Great pub and it had great music. Gets pretty packed around 9:30... right when then music is about to start. Get there early for a seat. And also note, the pub is CASH ONLY.

You will only see the best Irish musicians here. Tommy and his wife are delightful and friendly and welcoming.

This was a fun Irish Pub. We were in Dingle two nights and ended up at this place on both evenings because they played great traditional music. Great environment, good drinks.

Great pub for the music the owner an accomplished musician ensures that there is alway some music happening. Concert, sessions or whatever you are likely to find something going on. great atmosphere, pints and service

Our first night with our tour group included a barbecue dinner and drinks of all types. We felt the need to return before our tour moved on to the next locale. No dinner the next night (as it is not a common part of the evening) but the drinks, the crowd, and the music are a must to experience. Tommy O'Sullivan is an amazing musician/singer who brings in local talent to join him, who tug at the most basic elements in your soul. The traditional Irish music is sublime. If we could have gone every night for a week or more on a visit, it would have been the best nights spent in Dingle.

Wonderful time dancing and listening to the music. The bass player let my daughter play his big bass after their last set and oh what a memory that was. I just enjoyed dancing like a fool and fell for one of the older musicians who also has a music store. Unable to follow up but Ireland is place of mystery.

great live music, food drinks. good cheer. would definitely go back. highly recommended. mostly locals and not a lot of tourists which is my type of place!

Great bar lovely and cosy and perfect location as we strolled up the hill , great music and friendly staff too !!!
