"Saturday morning and this is the place to be to get a true slice of the Pacific. The Otara Flea Markets have rows and rows of fresh fruit, clothing, bric-a-brac and of course food, but it's the Polynesian colour and music that makes it so special. Far from the traditional shop fronts of Queen Street, this is where commerce meets culture and you can pick up a mighty decent bag of apples for $1.50."

It is still the best marketplace for me after 1 year of going here every Saturday. Lots of fresh veggies and fruits. Mobile phone accessories , clothes, and car accessories. Yummy and tasty food with lots of options. Also got cooking utensils. Lots of parking available though might have to wait if you planning to go after 10am. Opens from morning till 1pm. Recommend to take your shopping bag. Most sellers have card options, but I always prefer taking cash.

Always vibe on the South Side. Do I only go for the food?? Of course, I found the best and freshest steamed prawn dumplings from an elderly couple.

I have been to the fresh vegetables and fruits market here, and it was the best I have seen in New Zealand. Prices are low and produce quality is high. You can find more variety than in supermarkets as well. Aucklanders are lucky to have this place.

The heart of south auckland of otara markets was remembered as a cultural get together where you meet up with families and friends once a week people brought along with them diversity creativity generosity businesses plans and talents to share among the new migration population that started filling up the house market with alot of low income earners across a wilder range of south auckland network poetically otara where it was given the nick name from a political aspect neighborhood of where milk and honey grows and the grass gets greener 🪴 and you always had something to smile and laugh about

A great place, but come early like before 9am .... Fruits, veggies are really cheap but check and compare prices as they are surprisingly different from stall to stall !

Did not disappoint! Such a friendly vibe! Fresh produce 💯! Halal stores, vegan and plentiful fresh seafood. So much happiness in my belly today! Glad we put Otara Market as a must visit! Arrived at 7.30am & left 11am with so much! Get in early for fresh hot donuts & delicious potato salad - cook island, Manaui👌🏽

Yelp
If you are in Auckland on a Saturday morning, one of the most unique things to check out is the Otara Polynesia Market, located just a 15-minute drive from the Auckland International Airport. This market is held only on Saturdays and is open from 6 AM to 12 PM. While there is plenty of fresh produce for sale, there is so much more to this market. You'll find rows of food stalls with local Polynesian island favorites as well as Maori hangi (meat and various sides cooked in an underground oven). And if you're into shopping, this is your spot. You will find gorgeous carvings and artwork that will likely be the cheapest you'll find anywhere in the country. I lived in New Zealand and this was one of my favorite weekend spots.

Yelp
This market has a good selection of fresh fruit & vegetables, cheaper than supermarkets. Was a hard choice on the food front too, quite a few stalls & trucks offering varies tempting delights. Has several stalls offering pacific music, food, souvenirs etc, amongst the usual clothing and second hand goods. You NEED to get there early to avoid touring the car park and local area looking for spaces.

Yelp
This famous market South of Auckland stock great Maori, Samoan, Tongan and Niue arts and craft , however a worthy mention must go to a recent fixture, a clothing stall called 'House of Harem'. The friendly Aeryn has consistently gone out of her way to help me find that 'exact' unique item of clothing, particularly harem pants funnily enough, (although the beautiful silk or satin dresses and skirts are stunning too). These harem pants are great as gifts as they are one size fits most, 8-18 she assures me, and come in an array of textures and patterns... actually I am wearing some right now...

Yelp
Great place for all your souvenirs needs, like Maori t-shirts, island t-shirts, jewelry, bone carvings, ethnic foods, and other sorts of knick-knacks from the islands, even Hawaii. We got some cold coconuts to drink from, and also some ice cream. Lots of maori t-shirts as wel with Aottearoa, Waikato, Ngatiporo, symbols, etc. Stuff is pretty cheap compared to the souvenir shops in CBD or surrounding area.
