Decided to try OTHERWORLD Victoria in early May, and it was amazing.
Firstly, I would like to extend a massive thank you to Sam and P, who were beyond helpful. They were both very welcoming and considerate, which made the experience twice as enjoyable. Would come back just for them :)
Goes beyond just putting on a VR headset. Entire area is designed like a futuristic airport terminal. Even the bathrooms were on theme, with mirrored walls and moody lighting.
The pods themselves were fairly spacious and added to the immersion of entering a different world. Padded walls helped dull any accidental bumps that happened while playing.
Mix of fun single and multilayer games. Highly recommend the zombie one if you're up for a scare. Was a big fan of the initiation sequence and introduction to the island and the overall exploration aspect of selecting games. In-game coins can be used to purchase drinks afterwards, which was a nice bonus.
The sign in process was interesting. You have to download an app on your phone, log a ticket, and create your own avatar. This was quite cool to see in game, but I'd recommend leaving enough time to complete this process so you're not in a rush.
Overall, excellent experience, service, and atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in VR or wants to indulge in some escapism.
