Impressive building and surrounds. All set up for Halloween. A friendly and considerate reception. An open fire in the hall and we were quickly shown the layout of the building and taken to our room. Very relaxed and friendly guests in the grand dining room. A reasonable menu selection and the wine menu was inclusive. The waiter was very good and the portions acceptable. My burger bun was badly burnt and this ruined the meal. The salmon course was perfect however. We had a pleasant drink in the bar area with an open fire. Breakfast was excellent. The castle grounds are well cared for.

Tnis was a return visit for us, slight mishap with the room being a bit cold but this was quickly remedied.||We always book the same room upstairs, very large, four poster bed. It isn't fancy like the other place in Otterburn but there is beautiful linen and a very warm welcome.||It is comfy and laid back don't expect glitzy bathrooms etc.||The restaurant and the main rooms have real character and the restaurant isn't open to the public. The food is very good, we had an excellent dinner.||Good choice at breakfast too.

Room and restaurant were perfect but the thing that was most impressive were the staff. Outstanding service and couldn’t have been welcomed and looked after any better. Very impressed.

On arriving at Otterburn Castle I was impressed to find such a building in the middle of a small village. We unpacked our car and were met with what can only be identified as a sunny disposition/welcome in the form of Alex. Being a family run business we came to learn that being on reception was part of his duties along with helping out during meal times. He was courteous informative and helpful throughout our one night stay. After unpacking we came across Ellie the proprietor of the castle. As with her son, extremely helpful willing to please. All mixed up with a piece of feeling that you had just popped over mams to spend the night. As with Alex, Ellie was quite chatty and keen to get to know her customers as well as giving a bit of the background on how she became the castle owner. This made us feel all the more welcome. After walking out for a short while we returned to our spacious, wooden clad, well equipped room. All of the features were in keeping with castle which made it all the more special. The evening meal was outstanding! We both had steaks and were impressed both presentation and taste. In conclusion our visit was great. I would recommend anyone to visit. Whilst they run on a skeleton staff (being just Alex, Ellie the chef and a house keeper you would not think so. Ellie, Alex and the chef thanks for making us feel so welcome and looking after us on our weekend away. We will return!

My husband and I chose to stay at Otterburn Castle after spending the day at Bamburgh and Alnwick. Driving onto the estate, you really felt a sense of serenity and old-world charm. Check-in went smoothly, and we felt welcomed from the very beginning. Our room was clean and spacious with comfortable furniture and decor. I definitely recommend making reservations for dinner. They served a three-course meal, and there was a wide selection to choose from. Breakfast was hearty and plentiful. There were hot and cold choices. I loved their brown toast. The castle and grounds were lovely! When you visit, put aside time to walk the grounds.

Lovely stunning building, staff were we warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them whether it was early morning for breakfast or late nightcap in the bar before bed. Adam was very friendly, there was also a lovely friendly lady. We stayed for 2 nights the breakfast was delicious and it was clear used great quality choice of ingredients for the cooked breakfast we had both days. Proper cafetiere coffee. Room was comfy however dropped one star as TV was very small and couldn't see the TV from the bed and wires too short to pull it any closer. Also we both woke up on the 2nd night cold as the temperature had dropped off outside. Would have been ideal if there was a blanket or thicker duvet In a dust prevention zipped bag etc, in the lovely big wardrobe just encase. But apart from that was a lovely nice stay and would 100% recommend

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here to attend a wedding locally. We were welcomed by a lovely lady, so friendly and helpful, as was the male staff member we met later. The hotel is absolutely spotless and the castle is beautiful. Our bedroom was very spacious and comfortable and bathroom very clean and provided with lovely toiletries. We dined in the restaurant one evening and had an amazing steak dinner and breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. This was a fabulous break and I would definitely return again. Thank you for having us and making us feel so welcome!
