Otters Bistro&Lounge

I had read online about how much was displayed as gluten free therefore suggested to my partner we came here for food. I chose the rabbit stew and he had a ‘stir fry’. My stew was tasty, a little salty but nice nonetheless. However my partners stir fry appeared to be this rich salty soup. I tried a little and it was too strong of a flavour to have as a full bowl and this was certainly not a stir fry. Also what they didn’t mention until time for payment was regarding payment by card- there was a little poster on the wall saying ‘any transaction under €60 must be payed in cash’ We don’t carry much cash around but together we managed to scrimp together our bill. Nice for those requiring gluten free however wouldn’t be rushing to return here.

I had the poached fillet of Dentici as shown in the pictures. It was absolutely beautiful - the fish equivalent of a good steak with a lovely sauce. And fresh vegetables - in Malta! I dined solo at lunchtime in late December. I opted for the patio area under the awning as opposed to outside. I had the best of both worlds, I was sheltered from the wind, had the warmth of the sun, streaming in the side panels and the view of the sea. The local Chardonnay went down very nicely. The waiting staff were perfect and well done chefs. 100% recommended 👏🏼

The linguine frutti di mare (Seafood linguine) was delicious. The baby calamari was good but the sauce was a bit acidic. The duck in chocolate & port was a one time novelty. The bread was very fresh. Service was a little slow but good.

Nice sea front restaurant. Perfect if you like to work online in front of the sea. They have good WiFi and atmosphere is relaxing. It is just food a bit expensive compared to the ones on sea front next to this one. But overall good service and friendly staff

Great attitude and portion sizes were huge the Brie was underwhelming with a solid inside and expecting a lot more than we got in regards to the Brie but overall nice venue nice experience would happily eat there again

Had the Cannelloni which were quite small in size. They tasted good but i would have preferred more sauce with it. The lemon cheesecake desert was a bit of a let down. I don’t think it was homemade, especially as it came in a plastic cup. The staff and the atmosphere however were good.

Excellent food and service. A lot of choices from the menu. Served 2 course meals.

This was not our favourite restaurant in Malta. We came in for some light eats: we ordered fries, drinks, and some traditional fish soup. The fish soup was quite tasty, but the truffle fries were not well-recieved by my companions (this could have been personal preference). Furthermore, the cappuccinos were not good at all, so I would suggest they be avoided. Other than that, the view was really nice and the server was very accommodating!
