This B&B property is beautiful and comfortable. The owner provides a casual and inviting atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy good conversation with other guests. The breakfasts are AMAZING! Amanda is truly an accomplished chef. We would come back for sure.

Google
such a cozy and relaxing stay!! Amanda was so kind and made delicious breakfast every morning. the decor featured a lot of local artwork, too, which was so nice to see! this place really encompasses the beauty of orcas island

Loved our stay at Otters Pond B&B! My daughter and I came to Orcas Island for a quick 3-day respite from "the big city" hustle and bustle, and we were not disappointed. Otters Pond B&B is lovely--wonderfully appointed, cozy, warm and inviting. Owner Chef Amanda is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has many professional accolades, including a James Beard award. We enjoyed two excellent breakfasts prepared by her during our stay. My daughter is vegan, and Chef Amanda prepared her breakfasts accordingly. The scenery on which the B&B sits is gorgeous--beautiful Otters Pond which is replete with many species of bird (Mallard ducks, Loons, Junkos, and many others) and squirrels; unfortunately, the time of year we visited did not afford any otter sightings :( The rooms are cozy and quiet, and we were awakened each morning to the lovely smells of breakfast cooking. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at Otters Pond B&B in the early part of the summer (2024). The property is beautifully manicured and well maintained by the proprietor, Amanda. As a host she was kind, pleasant and accommodating as ever. She is a celebrated chef and a great host to her guests. The breakfasts are incredible! All farm fresh ingredients, like most of the eating establishments in the area. She has perfected her gluten free baking skills to the max. We had absolutely amazing corn bread with blueberries, lemon poppyseed muffins, and apple pancakes. She put the work in for her culinary skills and it shows. The property is nicely tucked off the main road next to Moran State Park, and has spectacular bird watching all day over the pond that sits right up on the back porch. She provides birding books and binoculars for those who want to learn a little bit about the local nature right there in her backyard. There in the backyard, sitting off the side of the deck, is a hot tub shaded under an enclosure to block the sun but still provide ample viewing of the beautiful scenery. The house is decorated in good taste, with comfortable, stylish furniture, an interesting variety of art strewn around the common spaces and room, and even her own hand-crafted ceramics. There are skylights in the rooms, and during the summer months the sun rises before 5 am. Bringing an eye-mask might be helpful. We loved our stay at Otters Pond and recommend the B&B as a great place to stay.

Google
A remarkably welcome, calm, and relaxing experience. Chef Amanda greets you every morning with the most amazing breakfasts to start your day. The food is truly spectacular. The rooms are quiet, modern and comfortable. With a location close to everything necessary but far enough to feel removed from the bustle. Sleep is deep in this quiet enclave. We will most certainly be returning.

The building is very cozy and pleasant. The view of the pond is beautiful in the morning and only surpassed in beauty by the delicious breakfast that is served every morning. We would certainly stay again.

Otter Pond is an excellent B&B in a nice quiet location with a gorgeous pond out back. The house is very well maintained. We visited at the end of summer and the lilly pads in the pond had turned a pretty shade of brownish yellow. We loved sitting out back on the deck looking at the pond and watching the birds attracted by the bird feeder. Amanda made a great breakfast including some gluten-free items for my wife who cannot eat gluten. The B&B is a few miles from Moran State Park which has some nice waterfalls and great views from the high points in the park. A few pictures of the back yard and the park are attached. Highly recommended!!

Google
Beautiful location, on the south shore of Otter's Pond, about a five-minute drive from Eastsound and a three-minute drive to Moran State Park. The facility is newish, well maintained, comfortable. Our room on the ground floor was small but lovely, the double bed adequate. Bath was a claw foot tub with a functional shower that looked European in design. The hostess, Amanda, was welcoming, helpful, and a talented chef, who prepared delicious breakfasts. We especially appreciated her ability to identify the numerous birds that flocked to the feeders on the back deck. I hope we can return again

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing from the setting to the accommodations. It was easy to find and tips for the ferry were very helpful. Upon arriving contact free check in was set up and very detailed information for the stay was included. We stayed at a resort down the road earlier in the year paid the same but this experience was so much more worth it. We felt safe and welcome the entire stay. Every detail is thought of and high quality linen and toiletries were provided, even wrinkle spray for your clothes. Breakfast was absolutely amazing you can taste the love of food in every bite and the special roast coffee was among the best I have had (I consider myself a coffee snob). The serenity you feel when relaxing pretty much anywhere on the property just melts the life stress away. Amanda is an amazing chef and so personable she helped make my mothers birthday special and I will be forever grateful.

Yelp
We stayed in the Swan suite for 2 nights and 3 days for our 15th anniversary. Otter's Pond is such a special place. It definitely left it's mark on us and we can't wait to return. Amanda has really created such a warm and tranquil setting. No detail went unnoticed. The furnishings were so comfy and soft. The clawfoot tub was amazing! The view from our room overlooking the pond and garden was such a welcome treat. We had breakfast every morning on the patio out back and watched the birds. Amanda's hospitality and food were such a warm treat. We had pastries, fresh fruit and a hot meal every morning. So delicious! It was nice that everything felt so private, However, knowing that Amanda was on site if we needed her or just a text away, was nice. Thank you for making our stay so very memorable. You inspired us with Otter's Pond. We can't wait to return!

Yelp
Beautiful setting for a bed and breakfast. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Owner is lovely and affable. Unfortunately it was a whirlwind trip and the timing didn't work for us to enjoy one of Amanda's delectable meals that we have only heard about. We will be back again.

Yelp
My husband and I planned a stay here for our honeymoon. When we arrived exhausted and sweaty at 9:30pm we were frustrated to find the room didn't look anything like the photos. It was much smaller than it looked on the website, the queen bed took up most of the bedroom. The shower was very small, the door to our room didn't lock, the AC didn't go lower then 68 (the owner informed us it was an issue with the wifi but after she fixed it it still didn't go lower), there is absolutely no service and the wifi is completely unreliable, it restarted every 15 minutes or so, and for $200 a night we were given 1 ply toilet paper. The toilet kept making this hissing noise like it was running every five minutes. Overall we just didn't feel it was worth the $650 we paid for three nights. My mom in law called the owner and kindly explained the situation and told us she was rude over the phone, however, when she came to speak with my husband and I, she was very kind and accommodating. She was generous enough to refund us for the last two nights with no cancellation fees.

Yelp
We stayed at the Beautiful Bed & Breakfast Otter's Pond. The rooms are cozy, warm, and very comfortable. We stayed there for a couple of nights. It was warm and inviting and we all had a very nice time In the morning they served a five course breakfast which was very delicious. Sue & Carl are very gracious. They made our stay extra special. They truly have the Aloha Spirit Aloha & Mahalo, Cyd & Ernie Lewis

Yelp
We stayed at Otters Pond B&B from August 17 to August 19, 2020. This B&B was so comfortable, beautiful, and welcoming and the view was fantastic! Amanda was an excellent host, providing clean, comfortable, and well-stocked rooms, AND wonderful breakfasts! We give Otters Pond B&B five stars but would give more if we could. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Gary and I enjoyed it very much!

Yelp
I recently stayed for 3 nights at this phenomenal place. Orcas Island is truly magical and Amanda's inn is the perfect place from which to launch a busy day of energetic sightseeing, exploring and dining. Or to simply stay in and observe the beauty and serenity of the pond and its surroundings, strolling through the gardens among the Golden Girls (her four lovely hens) and spotting several varieties of beautiful birds feasting from the feeders from the spacious deck overlooking the pond. I chose the Chickadee room because of the clawfoot tub, but the super comfy bed and the pretty view were definite pluses. The room was meticulously clean and well-equipped with a charging station, hair dryer, fluffy robes and all necessities including a toothbrush! Amanda was warm, welcoming and accommodating, yet very respectful of privacy. But...THAT BREAKFAST! She served us guests fresh fruit, homemade pain au chocolate and an amazing smoked salmon fritata, all as delicious as only a professional chef could make. There was also a coffee/tea station available all day. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary it was our first visit to the San Juan Islands. Our stay at Otter Pond was admirable. Amanda's hospitality was welcoming the breakfast was first class as we sat by the pond and did birdwatching. With safe distancing, we felt safe everything was very clean. Highly recommend the fire pit watching the sunset. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and family

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here, and it was incredible! We felt very welcomed there! It was surrounded by nature, so it was very relaxing and comfortable. We loved the location as well. It was very close to the Moran state park and some restaurants. Carl recommended good restaurants in the area and even offered to make a reservation for us. That was so helpful, and we loved the recommended restaurant! We stayed at their smallest room, chickadee but it was right next to the pond and the view from the room was great. Their breakfast was so unforgettable! It was so delicious and we were so fortunate to have great conversations with the hosts and other guests. We really appreciated their non-smoking policy. It was so nice to take off shoes outside so that the place stayed really clean especially because everybody comes from hiking in nature:) We would love to be back!

Carol B.

Yelp
New owners!! (the previous ones were uptight and not friendly). Now the place is super inviting and a relaxed atmosphere, great food and super nice host, Amanda. Great place to stay and great island to visit. We will return!

Yelp
Otters Pond was the perfect getaway for a special weekend! From the comfortable accommodations to the amazing breakfasts prepared by Chef Amanda, every detail of our stay was perfect. No detail was too small to ensure the weekend was a memorable one. The large deck overlooking the pond was an ideal location to spot local wildlife and to chat with other guests. A lovely, intimate wedding ceremony was held at at water's edge one evening and we were delighted to share a few photos with the newlyweds. A personal dinner prepared by Chef Amanda with all of my mother's favorites made her feel truly loved. Thank you so very much; we can't wait to come back and enjoy your incredible hospitality again soon!

Yelp
We stayed here 11 years ago when my husband proposed and he surprised me with another trip here for our tenth anniversary. I didn't realize it had a new owner but was so pleasantly surprised with Amanda. She was so warm and inviting and the food was AMAZING! The experience was even better than our first time. We honestly didn't have a bad meal on the whole island and Amanda was a great resource for where to go and what to do. On our way home we were talking about when we can go back and what friends we should convince to come with us next time. Our only regret was not taking advantage of Amanda's cooking skills for another meal or two.

Yelp
We stayed in the Goldfinch Room which is by far, my favorite of the rooms. If you are choosing between the Swan and Goldfinch Room, definitely choose Goldfinch. It's the only room with its own entrance seperate from the house and the only room with a tv. Since we are a little younger (at least younger than everyone else there; mostly by several decades), we like to watch tv and are a little louder so we appreciated the extra privacy. The only cons to this room is the small shower and there were a couple ants in the bathroom. Don't freak out though...I promise it wasn't gross. Very minor. All in all, the room was great. The breakfasts were nice, but we both like savory breakfasts so all the sweets didn't quite work for us. They always start with a nice sorbet, then some fruit, a grain and then a main dish. The fruit is just fruit...pretty uninteresting. The homemade granola was by far the best thing we had. The whole grain cereal with the brown rice was pretty good as was featherbed eggs with the spinach, cheese and salmon. The apple dutch pancakes were pretty good, but a little sweet. The bananas foster french toast was too sweet for me, so I couldn't finish that. My boyfriend had also called before and told them I was a pescatarian. Since the meals are served to 2-10 people max, I wish they had some substitutes for the sausages etc they served, but oh well. I know it comes with the territory. The property is nice with a nice pond and a hot tub we had to ourselves every time. The owners, Sue and Carl, are very nice . The first morning it was just us two so we got to chat with them and get to know them. I appreciated the little touches such as our names and where everyone was from on each days menu. They also left teas, juices and snacks out and gave us good information about the area. Plus they have a pomeranian and I love dogs! After our trip, Sue and Carl, even mailed us stuff I had forgotten (I'm not a very good packer...what can I say? :( ) which I thought was very nice of them. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to those looking for a quiet, romantic escape. I wouldn't want to stay in the other rooms though because the other rooms are pretty close together and I just don't want to worry about keeping THAT quiet.

Audra B.

Yelp
This place was too formal-feeling and uptight for me. The owner is very friendly, but everything she pointed out to us seemed to be preceded by the statement, "We've recently had some damage to ____, so we ask that you don't ____." It sounded like Motley Crue stayed here. You have to take off your shoes outside the building (they get cold and wet during the night!) and are invited to put on weird slippers. You can't touch certain buttons on the hot tub. You should use the designated make-up towel. I felt like I needed to tip-toe and whisper whenever we were there, even in our bedroom. We stayed in the Swan Room. The "library" is right outside our door, and when my husband and I came home from dinner, two of the couples were there. We could hear everything through the doors-- and they were so close! Not exactly good for, ahem, romance. While it is beautifully situated on the eponymous Otter's Pond (wood ducks! chipmunks! lily pads!,) for me the uptight atmosphere and circa1982 grandma decor detracted from the beauty outside. Though they have wifi and it is free, the bandwidth is very poor-- so don't come here expecting to get work done, like I did. I also thought the five course "gourmet" breakfast was odd. To start breakfast with a sorbet course when it's cold and rainy outside is the wrong move. And it seemed inexplicable to serve a fruit course, which was just a couple slices of fruit. I don't think breakfast is a meal that wants to be staged this way. Although my husband pointed out that there was no lag between the courses, and that it gave us an opportunity to really chat with the couple at our table. And I will say that the egg souffle and the homemade muffins were really delectable.

Yelp
My husband and I just spent a weekend here and it was lovely. Carl and Susan take wonderful care of the property and their guests! The room was cozy and spotless, with all the amenities you would expect at a hotel (even bathrobes!). Their 5 course breakfasts were amazing and getting to know them was a special treat. It's kid-free, which we wanted, since we wanted a respite away from our kids, and pet free since their little dog doesn't play well with others (he's very sweet with people). You must take your shoes off at the door, but there are slippers in every size provided for you. They gave us wonderful advice on what to see and where to go and gave especially good restaurant recommendations. All in all, Otters Pond is a gem and we hope to return next year. We are grateful to Susan and Carl for providing us with such a relaxing getaway.

Monique F.

Yelp
Excellent B&B. Without (me) reading the reviews my husband booked us a room by phone. The only room available for two nights was the smallest room. Over the phone Sue even thought our big European suitcases might not fit in. But we had no trouble at all. Tip: Carl (or Sue) should take some new pictures showing how big the room really is. And maybe they could consider removing the chair or rearranging the furniture. Swapping the bed and the chair/closet might give more moving space. But all together, a nice quiet room with our own entrance. And yes, you have to take your shoes off in the house, but that didn't bother us at all. It really felt like home. Although....I wished my house was that good maintained and spotless. Wow. I can imagine that you want to keep it that way. Explaining house rules like taking out your shoes, using black designated towels to take off makeup, using the fan in the bathroom and being careful with the hottube made perfect sense to us. I would like my guests to do the same when they're staying in my house. And that is what a B&B is all about. Back to the room. It was quit pleasant to stay there. I really love it when windows can open to enjoy the fresh air. All windows have screen doors. Better than all airconditing. And for warmer weather I noticed that there was a fan hanging on the ceiling. The bathroom was what you could expect. Clean, big enough, provided with shampoo, soap, conditioner and throw-away makeup towels (next to a black cotton make-up towel). One suggestion to next users: don't flush the toilet when your roommate is under the shower. Really, don't. Breakfast was excellent although I'm not used to the American way of eating cereal and all the very rich stuff like French Toast. And I wished that I enjoyed milk. Now I missed out on the home made granola and brown rice (?) cereal. Just like I regret (having read the reviews) that during our stay we missed out on Carl's supposedly famous pancakes. Breakfast is served every day at 9 AM for everybody. That's what we look for in B&B's. It gives us (European travellers) the chance to make conversation with other travellers and perhaps, sometimes, make new acquaintances. Besides this, Carl and Sue will do everything to make you feel at home. Helping you with dinner reservations, pointing out highlights of Orcas Island, whatever possible for you to have a pleasant stay. So yes, we really enjoyed it. We would highly recommend this B&B to all and will definitely return if we have the chance. (Note: we're not native speakers and my Apple device keeps changing the English words to 'proper' Dutch words. So excuse any spelling and grammar mistakes).

Christian L.

Yelp
This place was lovely. Susan and Carl were the sweetest and most accommodating hosts! The 5 course breakfast was wonderful as well. Susan gave us many great recommendations for places to go while staying on the island, and they were all spot on. Plus, the location was very central with easy access to all parts of the island. There's a sweet little dog who lives there too! Our bed was very comfortable and we also enjoyed the lovely view over the pond and the hot tub (which also overlooks the pond). I highly recommend this place if you're planning a trip to Orcas Island!

Ramya R.

Yelp
Amanda was a very nice host and very accommodating for difficult food allergies/needs. The room was very clean and comfy and I enjoyed having breakfast on the patio with the beautiful view. We had an early ferry, and she was sweet enough to pack fruit to go!

Jen L.

Yelp
We had a great time at Ottors Pond the house was great and the hot tub was great after we got done horseback riding. The food was wonderful and as soon as we left we started talking about going back again sometime. I dont think I even did the food justice saying just wonderful im not sure is enough!

Linda P.

Yelp
Paid for a room with a large bathtub but when we checked into the room we were told they had to order parts for it. I told her I had arthritis for which a tub was vital and her response was sarcastic. She could have been empathetic and offered to find another place with a tub... Or discounted the cost. Will never return or recommend. Very disappointing and painful.

Denise G.

Yelp
My husband and I have been staying at Otters Pond for well over 10 years now. We absolutely love Carl and Sue and the tranquil place they've created for people to stay on the magical Orcas Island. We've stayed in almost all of the rooms, but The Swan is our very favorite. This trip, we brought along two other couples. For both, it was their first stay in a B&B. I think they were a little nervous about what it would be like, but trusted our judgment. For sure, I can say all were wowed by the experience. Everything from the wonderful mattresses, sheets, decorations, hot tub, night time snacks, and overall decor was mentioned. But the real show stopper was breakfast! I was so happy that my very favorite eggs, bacon, and sausage recipes were in the rotation during our stay. Carl and Sue went above and beyond in catering to the needs of one of our friends who is gluten and dairy intolerant. They made him his own special pancakes and french toast, along with substitutions on other courses, as necessary. I know he truly loved the food and that he got to enjoy the same meals as the rest of us. We'll be back again and again. There is no place like Otters Pond or inn keepers such as Carl and Sue!

Viki M.

Yelp
Some of you may know that the former owners sold Otters Pond Bed and Breakfast recently but, fear not! The new innkeeper, Amanda, is fantastic! She's friendly, accommodating, efficient, loves what she does (and it shows), knows all about Orcas Island and can help you find anything from favorite local restaurants to great trails. We had to cancel a July reservation and have never been more upset about not being able to stay at this exceptional B&B.

Diane L.

Yelp
We stayed at Otters Pond in the Swan Room, which looks like the Master bedroom of the house. It was nicely appointed and had a beautiful view of the pond. While not as the Goldfinch room with its own entrance, it did have a TV, but we really didn't care because we didn't come to watch TV, but to relax. The chirping of the birds and the frogs softly croaking at night makes it a truly peaceful environment and there are trees everywhere. It really is a perfect place to get away from it all. That being said: I don't really know why the breakfast is called a gourmet breakfast. Although the stuffed lemon pancakes with blueberries made by Carl were truly delectable, I could have done without the sorbet and the other cereal served. Why a sorbet is served at the beginning of the meal, I have no idea. My palate didn't need cleansing because I hadn't eaten anything yet. We were missing a savory dish of some sort, either sausage or another breakfast meat to go with the pancakes. I agree with the other review in that both my husband and I prefer a more savory breakfast with less sweet items, so maybe a "gourmet breakfast" isn't really what is needed for us. I was disappointed that the fruit was limited to that which I could easily find in where I live. I know that Washington has amazing berries, blackberries, especially, and I was longing for something more extraordinary. Overall, a nice place to stay if it fits your style and it's just you and that special person. Many people love it. However, I suggest that if you are pairing with another couple of adults as a reunion, this is not a B&B that will necessarily meet your needs, which is why, in addition to the overly sweet breakfast, it's a 4 star instead of a 5.

Vanessa T.

Yelp
My husband and I had a great 2-night stay here. The B&B is VERY clean, warm, and comfortable. The hosts are kind and welcoming, but not so chatty as to be intrusive. Their dog was sweet and quiet and didn't get in the way (additionally, I have allergies to most dogs but didn't seem affected by him). The hosts had good recommendations for dining and even went so far as to make a reservation for us. Breakfasts were impressive in their size (lots of food!!!), variety, and homemadeness (I know that's not a word). Evenings saw the Amish stove heating up the sitting area, and a complimentary glass of wine available for each guest. The hosts accommodated me specially by providing sparkling cider in place of wine (preggo problems!). We stayed in the Chickadee room, which had a lovely view of the pond, and which was quiet despite being located on the ground floor. Only complaint would be that the room is very small - the bed takes up most of it! I see a few reviewers have griped about "all the rules" put in place at this inn, but I found the hosts' expectations to be perfectly reasonable. We enjoyed the town of Eastsound, a walk around Mountain Lake (in the Moran State Park) and a hike to Ship Peak on Turtleback Mountain. Unfortunately the road up to Mt Constitution was closed (presumably due to icy/dangerous conditions) but I was very happy with the view we got from Ship Peak.

Colm F.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for a romantic weekend over Memorial Day. It was delightful. The location is gorgeous - a beautifully landscaped garden beside a lily-covered pond, just on the edge of Moran State Park. Our room was the luxurious Swan. It has a full view over the pond, a great comfortable bed that's big enough to get lost in, and its own private shower room. Everything was in pristine condition. The (shared) hot tub (outdoors, but enclosed by shoji-type screens) was pleasantly warm rather than socring hot, and has the same lovely view across the pond. The breakfasts were elegant affairs with a series of delicious dishes. The always-available fruit-infused water was a treat. The owners were gracious and welcoming, and gave us great advice about local restaurants. It's a quiet place. It's better suited to couples than families or larger groups. The elegant furnishings aren't likely to appeal to Ace Hotel hipsters, or W minimalists. You'll have to take off your shoes, and put on your complimentary slippers when you come inside. The carpet is light colored and squishes softly beneath your feet. It's that sort of place. Otters Pond is both a lovely place to be and a great foothold from which to explore the rest of Orcas Island. Of several places that I've stayed on the island, this was quite the loveliest. We will be back.

Faraz H.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time staying here for two nights. The place overlooks a beautiful pond with lots of birds and greenery. The house itself was immaculately maintained. Everything is super clean and proper. Breakfast was delicious and included lots of nice home-made food. I particularly enjoyed the egg souffle and fresh cut fruits. It was nice to meet the other guests during breakfast.

Annik J.

Yelp
We recently stayed at Otters Pond Bed and Breakfast for a weekend getaway. It was our first time on Orcas Island and we were very impressed with the island and the B&B. Otters Pond B&B is a serene, quiet place. You can hear the birds chirping from your room. The B&B is very close to Moran State park so it's a short drive to Cascade Lake and Mount Constitution trails (going to the top is a must!). The five-course gourmet breakfast at Otters Pond (all recipes are homemade from scratch) was delicious! Actually, all of the food we ate on Orcas Island (Mia's Cafe, Doe Bay Cafe, Madrona Bar & Grill, and Allium) was delicious - local & fresh, a foodie's paradise! We spent most of our days out and about on the island - hiking, kayaking, checking out the town and arts - but the B&B was a wonderful place to come rest up at the end of the day. The beds are comfy, the B&B is extremely clean, and the inn keepers are super friendly (they got us reservations at two of the best restaurants on the island!).

Yelp
This beautiful accommodation is owned and operated by Amanda. Our traveling group of four occupied three of the five available rooms. Our rooms were beautifully decorated with modern, comfortable furniture. All the bathrooms had all the appropriate and modern features. The bathroom used by our party of two included two sinks and nice-sized walk-in shower. One main attraction for those staying at Otter's Pond is the outside patio overlooking Otter's Pond--beautiful to see and a relaxing place to spend some time. Redwing blackbirds and other small birds attracted to the feeders flit in and out. An even better attraction is the wonderfully delicious breakfast--we had two prepared by our host, Amanda, who was a chef in one of her past lives: quiche, not-too-sweet cinnamon muffins, fruit, and sausage on morning one, and, individual frittatas, baby potatoes, asparagus, fruit, and gluten-free muffins on morning two. Amanda keeps four hens that are named after TV's Golden Girl characters that lay eggs for the guests' breakfasts. Although it's a few miles from the center of Orcas Island's main area, staying at Amanda's Otter's Pond is a must if you come to Orcas Island.

Jerrika C.

Yelp
This place is ok. We stayed in the Goldfinch room, which is one of the nicer rooms with its own separate entrance just to the right of the main B&B entrance. There is no A/C at this place, but there is a fan that worked quite well. I was aware of the no shoe policy before booking, but it was a little annoying to remove my shoes before entering and having to leave them outside. I was also aware of the no pet policy, so I was little surprised to see a small dog running around when I arrived. The walls are thin so you can hear any noise going on around or above you. Parking is limited. Luckily I was able to be back early enough both nights that I got one of the three front parking spots. There is a second parking lot farther away. I did not eat the breakfast, so I cant comment on that. Honestly, the atmosphere was biggest negative for me. With all the rules I didn't feel like I could fully relax. However, for the price ($275/night in peak season), it really wasn't all that bad.

Yelp
Amazing experience plain and simple. Sue and Carl are the sweetest people ever, they'll make you feel right at home. The 4 course homemade breakfast was delicious, Carl's swedish pancakes are AMAZING. The house is really nice and comfortable and it over looks the pond. Definitely staying here next time I visit.

Yelp
A great get away B&B. Excellent accommodations. Beautiful views of pond off backyard. Hot tub. Delicious breakfast. Course by course serviing is very conducive to great conversation with the other guests.. Owners Sue and Carl really go all out to please, and provide a special B&B experience.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed four nights at Otters Pond B & B, a few weeks ago. It is a very beautiful and quiet location, right next to the State Park, for hiking. Sue and Carl were very friendly, but professional. Yes, they have rules, but it is their house and they want to keep it clean for the guests. The place was spotless, which we appreciate. Sue and Carl were also very helpful with any questions we had about the area, and recommended places to go. The food was absolutely delicious. Each night they put a menu out with the guests names and where they were from. That was interesting to look at. They also put tea, coffee, wine, and a small snack in the evening. It was nice to be able to sit in their kitchen or living room in the evening. Sue was "over the top kind" to us during our stay. We had come to Orcas Island to pick up our daughter who was camping at the Y camp on the island. We were there on Father's Day. Sue invited our daughter to join us on Father's Day for breakfast. Our daughter was not staying at Otter's Pond, so she did not have to invite her. Not only that, she invited her for the next day, also. We really appreciated that. We highly recommend Otter's Pond Bed and Breakfast.

Yelp
Excellent place to relax, kick backs and enjoy the finger licking breakfasts prepared by Sue and Carl. We have been to over a dozen B&B's and this is one of my favorites yet. The location is excellent. Lots of adventure activities and restaurants close by. The rooms are beautifully done and spacious. The whole place is well kept and welcoming. Love their library and of course the view of the pond. Loved our stay. Eager to come back and stay again :)

Yelp
We recently stayed at Otters Pond Bed and Breakfast during a rare vacation. The facility is in a beautiful location on Orcas Island. All of the rooms are attractive and comfortable and there is a large lovely garden. The owners go out of their way to make guests feel at home and to provide information about local attractions. The five course freshly prepared breakfasts were memorable. All of their recommendations proved to be excellent. A great place to get away from it all.

Yelp
Read the other reviews, very fussy, with many rules, and conversely completely unaccommodating at even an average level (especially for the hefty price). As well, it was necessary to leave the window open in the room, as it was stifling, and due to the noise of the cars -very close - and guests on the patio, I had to go out and buy ear plugs to get any sleep. Quite disappointing.

Yelp
Cute home with private rooms and bathrooms set in a beautiful quiet location minutes from downtown. The owners are a sweet couple that have been on Orcas Island for 18 years and are wonderful and extremely helpful with booking reservations for food and activities. Each morning breakfast was a delight with 5 courses including a sorbet ice cream to start (it's supposed to clean your pallet for the meal). Overall we LOVED our first trip to Orcas Island for our 1yr wedding anniversary and a big part of that was staying at Otters Pond B&B!
