Discover a charming B&B in the heart of Merano, where beautifully unique rooms, a lush garden, and exceptional three-course breakfasts create a cozy escape.
Very charming hotel in lovely Merano. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood just a few blocks from the main part of town. The common rooms and all the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with many nice details. We stayed in Mitzi-Martha, which was very spacious and had private access to the garden in back but I preferred Palmenzimmer, which had a terrace with a lovely view. All the rooms are nice but all different, so look carefully on the website. As others have said, breakfast is wonderful and there are lots of areas inside and out in the garden to relax. The owners were very helpful and provided a great map with many interesting things to see and do in town. We stayed two nights but I would have liked a few more. Merano has so many great walking paths and the thermal baths looked amazing but we didn’t have time to enjoy them.

We had a delightful stay at the charming B&B, where we were greeted with a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. One of the highlights was enjoying our breakfast in the garden, allowing us to start our day in tranquility.
During breakfast, we were attended to by two young ladies, one of whom had just started her job that very morning. While we understood that the service might not have been consistent, we appreciated their efforts and understanding that they were still learning the ropes.
However, there were a few minor hiccups in the service. The courses were not consistently served in the correct order, as we observed other tables receiving the savory dish before the yogurt, and vice versa. Although this discrepancy occurred, we recognized that it could be attributed to the learning curve of the staff and did not significantly impact our overall experience.
Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the B&B and appreciated the peaceful ambiance of the garden during breakfast. We recognize that everyone has to start somewhere, and we hope that with time and experience, the service at the B&B will become more consistent and polished.

Beautiful garden for breakfast and the communal dinner if you are lucky to be there on the nights it runs. Fantastic young chef who thoughtfully plans using a variety of local produce. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the library is full. Can recommend sitting out in the sunroom when the weather isn’t cooperating. Martin and his family are the consummate hosts. I’ll be back!

Stayed here 4 nights as part of a driving trip and Merano is a good base for the Sud Tirol. Beautifully renovated property and lovely garden; we stayed in the Palmenzimmer, a tastefully decorated room, good modern bathroom and with its own balcony overlooking the garden. Martin, Ivo and Alex are all very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Safe off street parking in their own car park. They offer a large selection of wines and schnapps' to buy by the glass or bottle etc. Easy walking distance into the centre of town. Breakfast is included and is superb, maybe a little on the "healthy" side for us, muesli etc and cook different dishes every day (e.g. zucchini frittata and trout with cucumber) but they are very accommodating if you want something else/how you want it. This is a quiet restful and gentile place so if you want to get away from it all this is perfect as they have a large garden (where guests often take tea) as well as a comfortable lounge area.

We had the good fortune to stay for several nights in a beautiful old room with direct access to the garden for our dogs. Really comfortable bed and linens as well as a nice heated floor in the bathroom with a great shower. In addition to sipping drinks in the lush garden, we were spoiled silly by the breakfast, which changed every morning. Amazing juices not from a bottle, wonderful bread and butter, various yogurts including a creamy deconstructed Black Forest cake version with cherries and chocolate, as well as savory hot dishes or sandwiches. The owners are terrific and have a great team of people helping them out, full of good recommendations for many restaurants within walking distance.

The Ottmanngut Suite and Breakfast is one of those places that really make the 5-star rating system inadequate. If I could, I'd give it 6 stars for over achieving on every level. The family estate has been completely renovated with special attention to detail. ||||The rooms are all unique and there is a comfortable feeling to the whole house. The garden space must be a dream in the spring, summer, and autumn.||||The breakfast is truly amazing. Instead of a standard continental buffet, the Kirchlechner brothers decided to offer guests a three-course breakfast served at the table. Each day we were served something new and delicious with a story as to the origin of the ingredients. ||||I'm looking forward to my next say there already.

A wonderful, very special place, with lots of little details. The garden and the breakfast are fantastic, delicious food! Try the lemonade in the afternoon with some small dishes. The location is perfect, close enough to the city but very quiet and away from the tourist stream. The host recommend amazing restaurant options and reserved all our tables.

My sister and I were in Merano for a wedding, and stayed three nights at Ottmanngut in the Ecksalon, which, as a corner room, had lovely views with two different perspectives. The entire experience was lovely, starting with drinks and snacks on the beautifully landscaped terrace right after we arrived. Breakfast each morning was wonderful - three courses, which were different every day (including a course of breads/cheeses, and a hot course - all delicious) in the very inviting atmosphere of the charming breakfast room. We cannot say enough about the service - it was superb. Martin, the proprietor, was ALWAYS available, and at the ready to help with any request, including preparing drinks/snacks/appetizers throughout the afternoon to be served in the cozy lounge or on the beautiful terrace. The two servers (for breakfast and on the terrace), Alex and Johannes, were both extremely friendly and helpful, adding a lot to the very positive experience. We give very high marks to Ottmanngut - we would stay there again, and highly recommend. Many thanks again to Martin, and to Alex and Johannes. Anne (Connecticut, USA) and Deb (Germany).
