Ottoman Cuisine

The interior of the complex feels vintage compaed to the environs. The yard resembles a Turkish palace. We were there as a group of three to try the degustation set menu. Each dish was curated and tasty. It's hard to pick a favourite, but I suggest the stuffed zucchini flower. Table service was professional and considered from all of the friendly staff.

Absolutely the best degustation we have ever had. A taste sensation. Wine selection, comprehensive, we chose a wine from Alsace, France. Service top notch. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!

The restaurant had a lovely vibe, with great music and a fountain that instantly reminded me of Turkish culture. I ordered the Sis Tavuk, and the chicken was very juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. The second dish was Köfte, which was also delicious. However, both dishes didn’t quite capture the authentic Turkish flavor I was expecting, they were spicier than traditional Turkish food, which usually has a different balance of flavors without being hot. That being said, the dessert was outstanding, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with good service and atmosphere, but I would have preferred the mains to stay closer to the authentic Turkish taste.

Exceptional food and service is what you receive at this much loved Canberra institution. So glad that Ottoman has returned! We will certainly plan the next road trip and visit again soon. We visited this place for dinner. Fabulous food and great service. Sebastian who served us was so friendly and professional :) We really loved the prawn he recommended! Will come back for sure!

Ordered the wagyu steak from the chiefs special. Got served a bland and a mediocre steak. I questioned if it was even wagyu. Someone else order lamb cutlets they also tasted pale. Non of the meat was premium grade the only thing premium was their price. The starters were only good. Wagyu was false advertisement!

A fancy place to have a meal. The service was great. The building was nice. Seen they had private dining rooms. The food was excellent 👌 😋

Extremely Disappointed – Rude and Offensive Treatment We visited Ottoman Cuisine looking forward to a nice meal, but unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by the owner’s behaviour. After ordering and enjoying our food, the owner made an insulting comment suggesting that we were going to “do a runner” and not pay our bill. We were absolutely shocked and embarrassed by such an accusation, especially as we had every intention of paying, just like any respectful customer. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. The food itself was fine, but no meal is worth being treated with such disrespect. Sadly, we won’t be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others. Reply to owner Thank you for your reply. To clarify, my review was not implying that anyone had done a runner it was a factual account of my personal experience. It was the words spoken by the owner that suggested my group and I were going to do a runner, which I found highly inappropriate and offensive. While I respect that you have been in business for many years, I stand by my review as it accurately reflects what occurred.

After being told this place is a must when visiting Canberra, I thought we'd give it a go. After arriving a couple of minutes late, we were told our table had been given away. We were then told there was another table for us, and were quickly seated. We ordered a bunch of starters and mains. The dips were excellent, but the accompanying bread wasn't enough and we had to ask for more - which we were charged extra for. The cocktails were alright. My espresso martini was very strong. Our mains arrived and were cold and chewy, and were a massive disappointment. Service was attentive but amateurish. It certainly didn't feel like a high end restaurant. At the end of our meal, our bill had an additional item that we hadn't ordered. This was subsequently removed, and after discussing the mains, we received a partial refund. I'd like to think this was a bit of a once off thing and will give this place another shot when we're back in Canberra.

Visiting Canberra to see the fly over celebrating 100 years since the foundation of the RAAF we looked for restaurants near our hotel and found Ottoman Cuisine. An excellent dining experience followed. We began with a tray of dips with house made Turkish bread all tasty but exceptional were the spicy beetroot and baba ganoush. Main meals for sharing were veal medallions and lamb kofta - both very nice. Finally we shared a baklava. All washed down with a Yarra Valley chardonay.

We had a group of 12 of us and decided to get the banquet. This is the best way to go if you want to sample everything. Several appetizers and a nice variety of main meals from lamb to veal. It was delicious and fun! We loved it. But be forewarned -- it is a ton of food!

A group of us had the banquet but it was complicated with two vegetarians amongst us. All the starters were vegetarian followed by three meat dishes and three small desserts each. The vegetarians were given pasta instead of meat. The food was extremely tasty but for the price it was a little scarce. I have been to many Mediterranean restaurants where they keep asking if you want more. This did not happen. The service was spot on. Remembered the vegetarian people and topped up glasses unobtrusively. If we were given more food or it had been a little cheaper I would have awarded five stars.

We have been in Australia for three weeks. We have had many good meals but this is one of the best. We asked them to "just feed me" .

The menu is very extensive and excellent. Service was friendly and our waiter knowledgeable about the menu. The calamari was nicely spiced but a tad chewy and the boned spatcock was moist and flavorful , would be happy to go again.

Another place that's lost its way a little. It charges fine dining prices but fails to deliver fine dining food. Don't get me wrong, you'll enjoy the food and the service is above average but neither the food or the service are worth the hefty prices. The atmosphere here is always great but I find the clear view into the kitchen a bit off puting, just doesn't fit in with the up market style of the restaurant.
