Lovely hostel away from busy Malioboro area of the city. Staff are so kind and helpful. The swimming pool is a nice touch. Three shared bathrooms, only one has hot water but never had to wait to use it. 4 bed dorm was small/cozy, 100k deposit to use a locker. Would have extended another night but it was fully booked.

Really cool hostel, it's in a nice quiet location, the rooms are pretty small but clean and beds are cozy. Also the common area is nice to hang out and has a big pool. Staff is really friendly and helpful!

Otu Hostel in Yogya is fantastic! The rooms are good with AC, de pool is a big plus and de location is great! It’s just around the corner of the busy street with nice bars en restaurant. Unfortunately during our stay my girlfriend and I got food poisoning from another restaurant. But Elivera and Habba (2 of the staffmembers) took really good care of us!❤️. The helped with warm tea and soup. Also they gave us advice for the hospital and pharmacy. Such lovely and nice people. I highly recommend this hostel!

Great and quiet location, on short walking distance to street with good restaurants and bars! People are very social and friendly. We also got a good explanation of everything to do in the area. We had a great and fun stay at OTU hostel!

I like this place because of the swimming pool which is a decent size for a dipping pool. it is also in the shade which i prefer. the dorms are clean and comfortable. the location is excellent for the street with all the restaurants (can't remember the name!). the staff are pleasant. there is a culture of water refilling which i love (IDR 2000 is very fair). i would give it 5 stars for all of this but i knew i would give them five stars the moment they found out i was vegan and handed me a specially printed card which i could show to restaurateurs to explain my dietary requirements. what a great idea and one i've not seen before! 10/10

No matter what room you book the room will be spectacular. Kitted out with air conditioning, curtains around the beds, lamps and own personal outlets by your beds, it ticks off many boxes that make it an unreal room and that’s not even moving onto the sheer amount of room space there is. The room has a lot of space, enough for you to make the Step Brothers joke by shouting ‘THERES SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES’, which hopefully results in your travel buddies judging you for making the over used reference. The beds are also reasonably comfortable and don’t make a sound by any slight bit of movement, overall there’s nothing bad to say about the rooms.
The hostel is clean and pristine, the staff are incredibly friendly and they have many offers on trips, experiences and provide scooter rental as well all for a decent price. ||One of the better parts of the hostel is the common area which is the main square of the hostel, highlighted by the pool and the wee waterfall fountain thingy against the wall of the pool. The pool is quality and there’s enough space to splash about like an 8-year-old or do some lengths like an old man on holiday, the only downfall is that you’re not allowed to jump into the pool and have to walk in like you’re on some fragrance advert. The common area has a cooking area, not so much a kitchen but enough for like small stuff, lounging chairs to bask in the sun and some beanbags which are quality to take a nap on after a long train ride into Yogyakarta. Very cute hostel in terms of aesthetics and environment, and can’t fault the private room in terms of quality, the beds were very comfortable. WiFi is free and the connection doesn’t drop out and is relatively fast. Clean enough, though some guests seemed to have a tendency to flood the bathrooms. It is indeed nice and quiet after about 10pm. ||The staff are very friendly and helpful, but they supplied a lot of misinformation, so the helpfulness just helped us plan things that ended up not working out.||The area has lots of restaurants nearby||Would recommend, but take advice from everyone with a pinch of salt.
