Ou Chheuteal Beach

Very nice beach. I agree with many reviewers about the cleanliness of the beach, but it is not the worst scenery I saw in many other places . Yes, there is some plastic and beer cans but not in huge amounts, well may be it was not that bad in the part of the beach where I was. There are many restaurants right on the beach where you can go, I didn’t visit any of them so I can’t tell how good they are. Around the beach many construction going on as all around of Sihanoukville, it looks like grandiose construction project . Hopefully it will finish soon, but I think when it happens prices in the city will jump up on everything. The water in the sea was clear but some parts of rubbish was floating in.

Ou Chheutea Beach is a lively and beautiful beach in Sihanoukville. The long sandy shoreline is great for walking, relaxing, and enjoying sea views. There are many food stalls, cafés, and local vendors nearby, making it easy to enjoy snacks and drinks by the beach. It’s a nice place to watch sunsets, spend time with friends or family, and feel the energy of the city by the sea.

It was the best of views. It was the worst of views. This beach encapsulates the quandary of Sihanoukville. The beach is clean and beautiful and faces out on a glorious sea scene. Swimming is at your own risk and the beach is generally uncrowded and the sand is great. While "the best bay of the world" sign may be a bit overblown, it is undeniably a great beach and a lovely bay. If you turn around, you are confronted by Sihanoukville, an ugly city of Chinese skyscrapers, many permanently unfinished. All along the beach, there are outlandishly expensive restaurants, all Chinese, and frequently unfriendly towards Khmer customers (or anyone who does not speak Chinese). I lived in China for 6 years and there is a lot about China to love as well as to hate. Sihanoukville is like a distillation of the less favorable parts of China. Or put differently, it is a part of Cambodia minus the Khmer charm and friendliness. And yet the beach is great..... Pro Tip The only place to get somewhat reasonably priced food is in a food court on a side street off the main beach. They had some nice Turkish food there at relatively good prices.

Really dirty. The beach was full of plastic and other items of rubbish. We walked the full length of this beach which had some beach shacks offering a very authentic atmosphere if you stayed to relax. The beach feels neglected and the surrounding area is run down.

Beautiful white sand and clear water. Very clean beach.

Not recommended for swimming, looks dirty. A good place to take a walk at night and have a drink while relaxing at their cozy seats. It becomes so colorful and alive in the evening.

it is free, can take ferry to go Gaolong & Saleng Island, that is fantastic view!
