Our Guesthouse

This was a great stay. We stayed in one of the studios. It was perfect! It was very spacious, had an array of amenities with built in kitchenette and was very clean. The location of Our Guesthouse was great too! We were able to park our car on site for free and then it was literally a 3-5 min walk into the downtown shopping and eating district. My only bother was that there was no elevator in the building so dragging luggage up and down the stairs (lucky we were only on the first floor) was a bit of a pain but overall didn't deter from the rest of the overall great experience at this property.

Good value for price accommodation with restaurants and shops within walking distance in Akureyri. Only small points for criticism is, that the room could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly. Also the owner seemed a bit surprised by our arrival. Other than that not much to complain, fully equipped appartment, good price.

We had the apartment for 8 pax on the top floor - tiring climb with luggage. There was only one bathroom in the apartment but this seemed to be the norm in Iceland. Equipped kitchen and washing machine in the apartment which were great. Not all the radiators in the apartment worked though. Good location with easy access to shops and eateries.

Great service and great room. The owner was awesome! The room was very cute and modern. The shared kitchen and restroom was nice and had everything we needed. The owner helped us get our car out of the snow after the snowstorm. He’s a hero!..haha definitely one of the better places we stayed at this Iceland trip. I will be back.

Great value for this price, everything is VERY clean and tidy, I mean extraordinarily clean, I haven't stayed in such a clean hostel ever before. For Iceland the price they charge is really low price and it's fair, because as a young traveller you don't have that much money and it's nice if you can go without spending a fortune and still have a comfortable bed (yes, you have actual BEDS in this hostel, not some old shaky bunk beds like in many other hostels). The kitchen is also very good, I was missing a stove, but then again you have free tea/coffee which is awesome. The staff/owner is very nice as well. (Very) late arrival was no problem at all, I sent an email and they responded within an hour, arranged everything for me and I had a warm and cozy bed waiting for me after a very long and tiring drive. Bathroom / restroom is very clean as well, you also have a sink in the room, which is nice, so you don't have to go to the bathroom to shave/brush your teeth. Really appreciated the hospitability. 10/10 would recommend!

I had a reservation and arrived at 9:00pm to find the front desk dark. There was a sign advising to call a number (though my cell phone couldn't make calls in Iceland) or send a WhatsApp message (which went unanswered for over an hour) for check-in. I went to a different hotel and stayed there. I do not recommend Our Guesthouse if you're arriving perhaps after dinnertime, and especially if your phone can't make calls in Iceland.

We spend 2 days with my mum and sister and it was really perfect . The owner is someone really nice with full hospitality. This guesthouse has big bedroom and bathroom and especially kitchen with everything ( the owner let for you coffee , tea, suggar ,salt and pepper free. ). Really it s nice place . So don t hesitate 😊

We had a wonderful time in this place as the uppermost floor was very spacious for the 9 of us. It has a fully equipped kitchen facility, washing machine with dryer, soap powder & clothes hanger, and balcony with beautiful view of the fjord.||The location is strategic as it is within walking distance to Akureyrarkirkja Church, Botanical Garden and the city centre with choices of great restaurants.||Parking is free and by the side of Our Guesthouse building.||Owner Gunnar and staff are friendly and helpful.
