"In 1912, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church was one of the first churches in Houston to offer religious services in Spanish and schooling for Mexican-American students. Today the Church operates programs that provide food and shelter for the needy and serves over 3,500 families. Wonder over before or after a mass and you're likely to see families from the neighborhood pouring in or out, any of whom could probably share a ton of this church's historical role in their community. Then stick around for confession. How long has it been since you've been to Church? Honestly?" - Primer Grey
I Love going to their chapel, because the blessed sacrament is always exposed.. I don't understand Spanish but I can tell that the people are accepting

This church is always welcoming. The priest is always friendly. Father Jesus lizalde does tremendous work. I have been a part of two baptisms here and everything was wonderful. The santísimo is an amazing place of peace for prayer. The masses are celebrated with a reverence for Christ. Almost all exclusively in Spanish. Though there is one mass in English. Have also been part of a few spiritual retreats here and they always help the soul.

They held SHARE YOUR HOLIDAY by HOUSTON GOOD BANK. You had to sign up to receive. I arrived at 10 a.m donations began at 12. I was directed by the to wait v at the gazebo. I waited at 12 I saw a group gathering in a parking lot across a field and that people were giving food to these individuals. I walked over where the event was taking place. Several ladies had the sign up sheetsb so I approached only to be rudely ignored and NOT ONCE could I get assistance. I realized after 10 min that I was not going to get my food because I didn't speak SPANISH. This was wrong my family will now do without for lack of my ability to speak SPANISH. Shame on this organization. Very dissatisfied HOUSTON FOOD BANK.

This church is it's own cult in terms. Father Elizalde is not very welcoming. Highly dislikes young kids. Has it own exclusive photographer who's work is hideous. She will constantly lie saying it was the lighting and not own up to her own mistakes and make things right. These kind of people like her have mental health issues. Being a exclusive photography worker for the church and being allowed to act like this is unacceptable. Father Elizalde behavior thinking he is God almighty is unacceptable he is a representative of god so he needs to be humbled and act like it. This church has gone down hill since the last father was replaced. The Catholicism school is really good and well organized

worst church!! they charge you for things they should not (ex: your own birth certificate, and copies you gave them for an event like a wedding) they also charge and arm and a leg for sacraments which the other two churches in town ask for donations instead. They are money hungry. They are also not willing to work with the other two catholic churches but when they need help they easily send their people to the other churches (St. Johns & St. Josephs Catholic churches) which i think its unfair we should all help each other out. What pushed me over the edge was that they did not want to let St. Johns borrow Deacon Fernando for my wedding since my original deacon was going out of town, they said to look else were. They are good as long as you stay there once you go to another church the tables turn and they are no longer that great church you once knew and I had attended this church all my life but i opened my eyes and realized this is not what a church should be like and i ended up moving to St. Johns. I hope that one of the two other catholic churches get a Spanish speaking priest/deacon bc that will open their doors to all Hispanics that would like to change churches and have other options.
