Called in advance to get tickets - $28USD / adult. They show you a video/mini-documentary about it and then drive you up there to see the statue. It was a pretty cool experience. A little pricey and the road is pretty bumpy (its a mountain road so of course it is haha) but it was a cool experience and I would reccomend it

Google
A lovely site. Such love went in to erecting this lady. I’m glad that the general public can’t just drive up there. Sadly, I think it would get vandalized. So glad I took the tour.

Technically, I have never visited the site. But I pass through Butte,Mt every now and again. From my vantage point driving a big truck, I always look up and smile at momma Mary. Here is a picture from the flying j looking over at Our Lady of the Rockies.

Google
The diesel bus trip up the mountain on a 7-mile dirt road that is very narrow, curvey and bumpy was not fun for me. I tried to look only at hubby & phone and not down the steep hillsides. However, Mark is an excellent driver! Dress warm as you reach @8500 feet elevation. Despite poor weather, the 90-foot statute is worth the view inside the base & out. Wonderful community effort and preserved history:)

Google
The site is amazing! Fantastic work! If you have back or neck problems you won't do well with the ride to get there and back. VERY bumpy in the passenger van!

Google
ATTENTION: Cannot get up close without the associated bus tour. I had no clue until you get to a sketchy dirt road that doesn’t seem inviting haha. It was still fun to see from the Highway. The third largest statue in the United States!

Greg Our Tour Guide & Driver Very Nice, Curtious. The Ladies In The Office, Nice, Helpful. Thank You All.

Google
It is private property and the road is rough. They only do one day tour at noon and you have to get tickets in town. When I went there the website mentioned having two tours and not really, it would be nice if they would put the time the tours are on the website especially when people are traveling from a long distance.

Yelp
Very amazing tour. So beautiful and a great view of butte. I recommend everyone to visit the lady of the Rocky's

Yelp
She watches over you any where you are in Butte or near the city it's a really neat story on why she is there. You can drive up to see her but I've never figured out how but I like her watching over me

Yelp
This was a fun sightseeing trip, as it was something the wife had wanted to see up close. Watched a film, rode a bus up a mountain and got to see her up close. The really great part was all the memorials to loved ones that were up there. The whole thing is inspirational, especially the how and why it was built.

Yelp
The staff was amazing. Rented out the whole bus to go up after my dads service. Everything was decorated so beautifully for our picnic. Thanks for making our sad day so beautiful!

Yelp
Our family passed by Montana couple months ago. When we stoped by the gas station to fill up gasoline. When my uncle stepped out of the store "mini mart store of gas station ", there was a man who was rushing ran after and call my uncle. He asked my uncle that if we are from out of town and what religion we are. After knowing we are catholic, he said there is a lady in that mountain that not a lot of people know about. I don't know who he is, but our family appreciate for his kindness of introducing us to lady of Rockies. And our family came back to Montana to visit lady of Rockies on 08/11th and 12th. My auntie took the picture by her phone from our vehicle. we will come back and visit her anytime soon. During the Covid, when we book the bus tour, if I am not wrong they only allow 20 people in 1 bus. So highly recommend to call and book the tickets a head of time during this time.

Yelp
All around interesting experience. Starts with a quick video at the headquarters, then every one loads up in either a school bus, passenger van or both. 25-30 minute ride up the mountain on a dirt road (washboard in some places, but it's kept up) and your at the top of the continental divide and face to foot with Our Lady Of The Rockies. She is majestic! Great driver/guide, had plenty of tidbits of information during the drive and we got about 30 minutes of free roaming once we reached the top. It was a foggy day for us, so we couldn't see down to Butte from the top, but the mist added a level of mystic and surrealism to the experience. Worth every penny! Oh, take a jacket with you...or two. It's cold up there, especially if you go towards the end of the season like we did.

Yelp
So as we were coming to the end of our 8 day road trip ,we stopped in this town for a quick bite eat . Then , I noticed this huge white statue of some sort, way up on a mountain in the distance . I looked it up and what a great story . If you google lady of the Rockies you can read all about it . Anyways , the place too get tickets are located inside the front mall entrance . When you go in it's like $15 a person and it's a 3 hour tour . First , you watch a video on the story , which happened in the 80's. Then ,you either get on a yellow school bus or in a van . Make sure you run to the door outside when the videos over , otherwise you will end up on the big yellow school bus. Lol .. I have not been on one of those since a kid ,so I ran to the van laughing at myself and other people doing the same thing . It takes 50 minutes to go up that mountain and 40 back down . If your scared of heights then you might think twice. It's very steep going up and it's this dirt road that's rough . The man driving was the sweetest , and he told us all sorts of stories, and even had pictures of his younger self from the war . On the way up , you can look down and see this big hole filled with water . I said what's that hole, the tour guide said it's Toxic land mine filled with rain water . He said every year $10,000 Canadian Geese die because they land in it . How awful, but they can't drain it because it's 1,000 ft deep . Back to the statue , when you finally get to the top, it's so worth it ! You hang out for like 45 minutes and go inside the statue . You can bring whatever you want and leave it inside as a momentum. Lots of crosses and post it notes . I left a post it note and it came true that night . The statue is so big, you look like an ant next to it . I enjoyed it and you will too . It's something very unique to see.

Yelp
I wondered if we could drive to the top without paying for the tour (you can't), but I am so glad we went on the tour! Tom Holter, a Butte native, miner, and ironworker who actually helped with the preparation of the mountain and assembly of the statue, was worth every penny, plus some! He knows Butte and all the local areas and, as I found out on this tour, he even worked with my grandfather (another Butte miner). He also knew the father of another lady in our group. He was very patient with everyone If I could post a video of him telling stories, I would Tom knows every bend in the road, inaccessible lakes, moose hang outs, and rock in the area. He even laid down to take pictures of people with Our Lady in the background. Oh yeah, this review is about the statue, not Tom. One of the neat things was that inside the statue were thousands of notes and rosaries from people asking for Mary to pray for their loved ones, or just noting emories or intentions. If I would have known, I would have brought rosaries and notes up there for a few family members.

Yelp
Although we didn't go on the tour (we didn't plan out our road trip), we did stop by the tour office and got some great info from two very helpful ladies. Definitely planning another trip just to revolve around this tour. Since Our Lady of the Rockies statue is visible from all over Butte we did happen to snap a couple of pics.

Yelp
What a wonderful and inspiring tour! It was recommended to me by the director of religious education back in Denison, IA where we live. I had told my husband an I would be in Montana this summer and she recommended it (it is actually on her bucket list) if we were going to be in the Butte area. It just so happened we were going to be in the area on our way to Glacier N.P. and so we booked the tour before leaving our driveway. We were so glad we took the time to take the tour and see Mary in her 90 feet of glory. I would love to see her at night when she is lit up. We had a lady bus driver/tour guide. Her name, unfortunately, escapes me, but she was so knowledgeable in sharing the story of how the Mary project came about and ultimately, how she got airlifted onto the present sight. Mary is standing on the Continental Divide near Butte, MT because of a promise a local man made to God when his wife survived cancer. The bus driver talked of the difficulties surrounding the completion of the project. After listening to the story, one can't help but believe there had to be some sort of divine intervention going on that allowed for this remarkable project to be completed! Our bus driver, God bless her, laid down on her side to get both Mary and us tourists in the same camera shot....not so easy when a 90-foot Mary is towering over you. I loved seeing the inside of the statue, but wish I had known ahead of time that I could place prayer intentions there like so many others have up til now. Seeing all those post-it notes and rosaries on display was so heartwarming. The chapel area was also very interesting with all its names of people, some even famous, as pointed out by our bus driver/tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone! It is three hours well worth spent! Butte is so blessed to have such a wonderful display of Mary overlooking the city! Do check out the gift shop afterwards. I would have to say the only downer on this tour was the witnessing of the two ladies who ran the gift shop bickering with each other in front of those of us who had just completed the tour. Obviously, they should not be working/volunteering together. I am listed as Suzanne L. here...but I am Suzanne K. I am not sure how this can be corrected.

Yelp
Great place to take your visiting vacation relatives and Friends. The ride to the top is a little rough but worth it

Yelp
Butte, Montana: Our Lady of the Rockies Statue, a 90-foot (27 m) statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dedicated to women and mothers everywhere, it's located on top of the Continental Divide, 3,500 feet above Butte. .... it's neat to see and even more impressive if you take the tour bus up there and look from HER vantage point on top of the Continental Divide checking out the Pintler Mountains and the City of Butte!

Sandy P.

Yelp
We thought we could drive up to see the statue of Our Lady of the Rockies but you can't. You must take the tour which is well worth it. The story behind the building of the 90' statue is amazing. The drive up is along a narrow, curving dirt road on private property. It is a beautiful park like seeing over looking the Butte valley. The inside of the statue is filed with rosaries and prayer intentions for Mary to bring to God. You can feel the spiritual feeling on the mountain. There is a chapel on the mountain to honor women and mothers everywhere. People have listed names of mothers dating back to the early 1900's. This is a must see. Words can not describe the beauty and feeling up on the mountain.

Yelp
A great store geared towards one of Butte's most noticeable features...Our Lady Of The Rockies. They have all the knowledge you want about her and all the collectible gifts associated with the statue and Butte's local history. Please check out the small display of (Copper Miner's Crosses). They will be on display here for the next week or so. They include a prayers/poems by a local artist and the cross is from and made by a local artist with strong ties to Butte. Tell them you would like to see the "Copper Miner's Cross!"

Yelp
My Daughter recently got married at the Lady, a dream of hers for a long time. Our driver, Jim, was so personable and helpful to us! What a wonderful occasion! We all had an enjoyable time and some great pics thanks to Jim! And the tour and information of the Lady was great! Highly recommend to special occasions! The Lady is beautiful and should be experienced by all. There is a family connection with her for us, and we are very proud of her.

Yelp
I've done this tour twice, and I can't recommend it enough. The first time I went with a few family members while visiting Butte, and our tour guide was actually one of the men that helped in the original construction of the statue. I'll be honest - typically I just end up getting irritated by the incessant droning and/or scripted jokes of tour guides, but in this case I was very interested in hearing his stories and memories. The bus ride up to the top takes about an hour. The views are incredible and once up at the top, there are a multitude of areas to explore including the inside of the statue itself. If you're interested in learning more about such a pivotal part of Butte history or just interested in the view, you'll love the tour!

Jolene T.

Yelp
Well, if you didn't feel like you were in a prayerful state of mind before departing the mall for the tour, by the time you'd arrived at the top, you'd probably uttered more than one decade of the rosary. All kidding aside, totally worth it. Highly recommend.
