Our Lady of Victory Cathedral

Our second time to visit this beautiful church. I think this is the only church near Hakata that has English mass (4pm on Sundays). They have dedicated seats for PWDs and have ample seats at the 2nd and 3rd floors. They also have an elevator and clean toilets, including for PWDs. Bought some religious items at the shop at the ground floor. Church is just opposite Nishitetsu Grand Hotel.

Here for morning mass that started at 7am in the small chapel next to the church. English mass is scheduled every Sunday 4pm

English mass is scheduled every sunday at 4:00 pm. Located prominently along the main road within Tenjin area. Very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful modern architecture. Toilet is available at the right corner upon entering the lobby. Has a daycare located at the back with glass panel for parents with toddlers could still attend the mass while their children are either playing or lying on tatami floor mats.

Tiny museum celebrating the work of Fr De Rotz (MEP). It houses the former vocational centre for women, a pasta workshop and one of the oldest working organs in Japan.

There were ushers when we got there. When the Mass was over, volunteer workers cleaned the church -- from vacuuming the dloors to sanitizing the pews.

A serenely quiet sacred place to "come and rest" in the silence of the heart, to encounter the Lord in a most special way. This Roman Catholic church is very conducive for quieting, centering, silent heart-felt prayer. One comes out of the church rested and with drooping inner spirit lifted up.

English speaking mass on Sunday at 4:00 pm. Items for sale on the first floor. Choir and organ accompanied mass. Beautiful church.

Beautiful modern cathedral. We visited here to attend Christmas mass 2022. The covid restrictions were still strictly placed then. Santa gave goodie bags to kids after mass.
