Such a wonderful restaurant! My family came in for lunch and had a tasty feast! We ordered crispy chichirones, fried plantains, as well as the chicken and waffles, the Cuban, the spicy chicken cuban and of course, the tres leches cake! The food was delicious and I would absolutely recommend Our Plates to all!

The stew chicken, red beans and rice of the day 👌🏼 excellent. The owner/head chef is a very personable guy and wants you to make sure you’re full of good food. The slaw is freaking amazing!

Had a good feeling about Our Plates after looking online and boy am I impressed! Had a great conversation with the executive chef and he served up a delicious roast pork plate with beans, rice & salad- All for an affordable price. The inside of the restaurant has great vibes and would be a great place for a family to come eat or to stop in for a delicious lunch on your work break. 5 STARS!

Absolutely delicious authentic Dominican food. Everything was fresh, savory, well seasoned and clearly made with love. Certainly a hidden gem in the Adirondacks and would definitely recommend and will be back soon!

The food was amazing, it was beautifully seasoned and the owner is super nice and is very welcoming the prices are very reasonable for how much food you get, this is 100% the place to go in Saranac lake and I'll absolutely be returning

Serving up a delectable, eclectic array of Carribean and Southern Soul Food inspired dishes, Our Plates is an unassuming gem in the heart of Saranac Lake. The proprietor and staff were warm and friendly, and provided generous portions-- some of the best fried chicken we've had in years, with delightfully tasty accents like Yuca fries and plantains. The only downside to "Our Place" is that we'll be hard-pressed to try eating anywhere else next time we're in town!

Made a special stop here to get the load tostones and was not disappointed! I got them with pork, which their pork is delicious even if you get a small plate, get the pork!!! There were a lot of people calling ahead to get their orders for takeout.

LOVED it! My friends and I came and loved our food so much we ordered even more for takeout. The loaded tostones with shrimp is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! The housemade passion fruit drink was sweet and delicious as well. Service was also so friendly! Will be back every time I’m in Saranac Lake!

After dropping my son off at college, my daughter and I sought out Our Plates after hearing that it is owned and run by a Paul Smith's alumnus. We're so glad we did! We were instructed (by a sign) to grab a menu and sit wherever we chose. As we perused it, we noticed this spot is very popular for takeout. Dining area was bright, fun and spotless. Our friendly server asked if we had any questions (I did because I couldn't quite decide - everything sounded pretty tasty!). My daughter chose beef empanadas (they were out of the veggie) and I settled on the Cuban sandwich. We both chose plantains for our side. Everything was delicious. So much so that we decided we had better try the tres leches cake and lemon cake. That was a good idea because those cakes were moist, decadent, and delightful! Recommend a stop by to Our Plates anytime you are in Saranac Lake!!

A Dominican restaurant in Saranac Lake? Be still my heart. The restaurant is small but beautifully decorated but we had hungry people at our rental so we got our food to go. Oh my! We got empanadas, a chicken plate and a pernil (slow roasted pork) plate. There was plenty of food and it was all delicious. The owner was behind the counter filling our order. He was really friendly and welcoming. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Saranac Lake.

We have now eaten lunch here 3 days in a row. Today I had the chimi burger with yucca fries and tres leches cake. It was amazing! Perfectly cooked burger with an over-easy egg on delicious tostones. Sorry, no pictures because the food came and was eaten within minutes!! Folks, everything here is excellent and the service is supreme. Both waitresses we had were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. This is a family owned business - please support them!!!

My brother and I only wanted a small bite to eat and the empanadas with chimichurri (sp?) sauce sounded perfect. And they were! Great flaky crust, tasty beef filling, and the sauce was perfect. The next time in the ADKS visiting my brother we will make sure to get there for more good eats of what's on that menu! The decor is pretty fabulous, too. And, oh, soon they'll have their liquor license!

The food was insanely good. Flavors were incredible! Everything was very fresh. Our waitress was great! And the ambiance was super tranquil. I loved the hanging flowers and plant wall.

We stopped in for lunch today and everything was fantastic. Our server/owner was so friendly and helpful. The food is 5 star delicious! We shared a plate and a Cuban sandwich. Huge portions and soooo good. Prices are very reasonable. The place is clean and nicely decorated. Don't walk by this place. Stop in and eat. You will be happy you did.

So grateful these folks opened up a great food spot in our community. Long time local Chef and his wife bring us the food of the Caribbean. Delicious and fairly priced. Order ahead during busy times! Welcoming vibe and decor. Great addition to our area!

Wonderful food. Small but comfortable. No liquor but you can BYOB. We had the Cuban sandwich and tostones nachos and both were excellent.

Sooo so good. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this lovely restaurant in lake Saranac. Food is top notch. Interesting combinations . Unpretentious and just darn good! I had the cornmeal waffles and fried chicken My husband had the chimi burger and our son had the Zydeco sandwich. Great tostones and fried plantains. Very pleasant service too.

I don't know why the Adirondacks has so few good restaurants and so many indifferent ones, given the pervasiveness of tourists and tourism, but that 's just the way it is. So, when one finds a good restaurant, it's a cause for celebration. Such is the case with Our Plates. The food is delicious. More homey than high-end, it is very good Caribbean / soul food. A fried chicken sandwich - CJ's Fave - was really good, especially with plantains. The other sandwiches were enjoyed just as much - they were also very good. And a serving of beef empanadas that was shared by the table was great - best empanadas I've ever had. The sauces that accompany the various dishes are excellent - wonderful chimichurri sauce; they should sell it by the bottle. The service could have been a little more prompt, but could not have been nicer or more welcoming. Our waitress was delightful, knew the menu inside and out, and gave first-rate recommendations. A great experience overall. If you're looking for a pretty casual place for a very good meal in Saranac Lake, Our Plates is a great choice. Recommended.

Sweetest place on the block, with recipes from the owner's abuela, and a simple yet very inviting decor. My friend had the combo plate, medium. With chicken stew. I pieced together three sides: yellow rice/beans, collard greens and sweet plantains. Maybe a tad salty for my no-salt-at-home palate, but delicious and fresh. As for service: warm, welcoming and efficient. Just lovely.

Really friendly, and the food was fantastic! Everything we had was great but the plantains by far were the best.

We visited this place last week and food was excellent. The owners and hostess were super nice. I am a fan of the decor(if you are a local you know the mexican place that used to be here was so bare and nothing special). Glad to have this new type of cuisine-- a mix of southwestern/cuban and dominican). I would recommend checking it out and you can call in advance for pick up if you want.

Wonderful atmosphere leading to mouthwatering food and generous portions. Soul food with an Adirondack vibe.

I really feel like we found a hidden jem of a restaurant for a couple looking for cuban cuisine. The food was amazing, staff was great, and menu had a good selection. I would seek to eat there again if I returned to ADK. I didnt see a drink menu is a negative observation. Also I think a large group might have to consider the kitchen size which you can kinda watch which I thought was pretty interesting actually. There were at least 8 people in there at one point but I dont think the wait was long. The Tostones appetizer and Yucca fries were very good! I had Rina's Chicken and Waffles which I highly recommend (as did our waitress Rina). My wife had the Zydeco sandwich which she loved and I tried and thought was tasty.

Delicious & authentic! The service was great, and the Cubano with sweet plantains were the ultimate comfort food!

Found this gem by accident. I never leave reviews but the food atmosphere and ambiance was so amazing I had to leave a positive recommendation. The Cubano was amazing, the desserts and appetizers all so good!

Caribbean food in the Adirondacks? YES, please! We found this cute, cozy friendly restaurant around the corner from the Hotel Saranac. The food was warming comfort food. We chose nicely flavored combo plates with a choice of stewed meats. The service was friendly and prompt. Cheerful holiday decor in December.

Outstandingly delicious homestyle food and friendly, welcoming and helpful service! Everyone in our party of 9 loved their meal. What a treat to have some Caribbean and Southern flair in the ADKs, and an added bonus to have lots of clearly labeled gluten free suggestions for our family with food allergies. The ambiance is fun and casual--loved the artwork! Can't wait to come back to Our Plates to try some of the other appealing items on the menu! A great addition to Saranac Lake!

This place is AMAZING. There are a couple other places we've gone to eat here in Saranac Lake, and have been pretty disappointed in the food. But the flavors of everything we had we so on point and absolutely delicious here, and the prices are extremely reasonable! I got two appetizers as my meal, and the beef empanadas were delicious. I also got something with plantains and fried steak that was very good, but then you put the chimichuri sauce on it and it made it amazing. My husband got the 'medium plate' - he couldn't decide what kind of beans to get, so she brought him two smaller portions of both, and he couldn't stop raving about both of them! Same thing with the meat - both the pulled pork and the jerk chicken sounded good, so she split the order so he could have both. The pulled pork was the absolute BEST thing on the table - I highly suggest getting something with the pulled pork in it!

Delicious. If we were locals, this would be our go to. Shared a chicken empanada for app which was hot and delicious. I had vegetarian platter which was ample and all great. Wife had the steak dinner which was equally delicious. Only complaint was steak was a little tough but the flavor made up for it. Excited for my leftovers! Eat here. Keep this place in business! I

So good, I'm prompted to leave my first review ever. Have eaten here 5 times so far. Made to order, always incredible. Such a great addition to Saranac lake, having a latin/Caribbean food option for our family just makes town feel more like home I'm having a hard time steering away from the medium plate with pork, add a side of sweet plantains. The collard greens are top notch and my moms go to is the Cubano. Can't wait to patron for years to come. Thank you!!
