Visited Ouray in September, decided to soak in the hot springs. Never again, facility was filthy, pools were dirty and feces in the upper hot pool. Better rethink that one for next year.

David Smith

Google
Just read all the views and will be speaking with the owners happen to be tenants of mine. We will get these people straightened out or new ownership at this place. It’s so sad that people come here for a nice vacation and get treated so poorly. Think I’ll be coming over with my biker club from Gunnison to teach these kids a lesson.

David J. Lee (thewhiterabbitt)

Google
Ouray Hot Springs are a unique experience. The water is hotter than most “hot” springs, and there are three levels of heat. There are slides for the kids, water volleyball, a snack bar, etc. the staff is kind and there are discounts for students, senior citizens, and “ultra” senior citizens. It is a little pricey, but you can go and come all day. As other reviews have mentioned, the views are spectacular. It’s surrounded by mountains and it’s worth a visit.

Igor Kolesnikov

Google
Fun place the lower pool was fun woth the basketball ball thing

Michael Gallegos

Google
This was a great place for my family of 5. I have 3 girls 12/8/2 and each of them found something fun to do. We enjoyed that they had 3 pools each with different temperatures. Playing volleyball with my 12 year old in the cold pool, calming my 2 year old in the luke warm pool (106 degrees) and relaxing with wifey in the hot pool, made it for a all around good time. ::Side note::, we had a random JET FIGHTER PLANE do a super low sideways (solute) fly by through the mountains directly above us, nearly blowing off all our hats, which made my year as a veteran!

Katie Griffeth

Google
My family loved our time at the hot springs today! Love all the different temperature pools. Very clean and not overly crowded.

Hadley Choate

Google
As a local I feel very very unwelcome here. Every time I’m here the employees are very disrespectful and rude straight to my face. Many of my local friends feel the same way because of rumors spread between employees. The managers and employees bring high school drama from outside the workplace into the workplace, making me uncomfortable going to the pool. I do not feel welcome coming back here after I was told straight to my face by the manager “I value my employees way more than I value you.” As a local who values this small town attraction, I am sad to say that I will no longer be going here or recommend coming here to anyone. Go to the twin peaks instead.

Google
I really liked the different pools and activities the hot springs has to offer - shallow pool, lap pool, activity pool (climbing wall), slides, hot pool, and adult only pool. We swam laps, went in the adult only pool and played volleyball in the shallow pool. The adult only pool was nice and hot! The “hot pool” didn’t seem warm enough to me. It definitely felt more like a water park with all the pool options and kids there. The views of the mountains surrounding Ouray are breathtaking! The staff was nice too. It’s priced similar to other hot springs, so it’s on the expensive side. I wouldn’t want to go with a group if I was paying. I didn’t like how they don’t provide towels and only sell small, thin towels for $10. The activity pool and slides closed at 6pm, which was sad because that’s when I arrived and wanted to do them. There were also lots of kids and teenagers sneaking in and out of the adult only pool, so the lifeguards could work on being better about not allowing that.

Kris L.

Yelp
The park and adjoining Fellin Park are beautiful with amazing views, large grassy areas, a goldfish pond, the spring fed pools, and assorted benches for lounging around.

Vince M.

Yelp
Fun spot that my family enjoyed multiple times during our Ouray trip in July. Different pools/temperatures, slides, and spots for basketball and other activities. Seating was good, but lots of other travelers also enjoying the pools and warm weather.

Anne D.

Yelp
For such a beautiful place, our experience was dampened by the front desk clerk, Lilly. She was unfriendly, charged the full amount for passes (without asking my young children and mother's ages), and did not make us feel welcome when coming or leaving. Otherwise we enjoyed our visit.

L M.

Yelp
Great place to visit, lots of fun for any age and must see views! Go early, they fill up.

KK H.

Yelp
106 degree adult only natural hot spring with a view ! The red water slide is a doozy ! You'll catch air. Beautiful scenery. Cold plunge pool. My husband and I spent the whole afternoon. We even sat under the waterfall and let it soothe our sore bodies from driving from AZ. We left feeling like we went to a day spa.

Ashley R.

Yelp
We went when it wasn't super busy. The adult pools were lovely and peaceful. Not everything was open, but I can imagine the slide area is enjoyable as well. We would certainly return

Jennifer M.

Yelp
They may have been doing some upgrades to the area when I came, but one of the pools were closed, and the remaining ones that were open were filthy. There were bugs and a lot of dead leaves floating in the water and drains. The bottom of the springs were also a bit dirty looking and looks like they haven't been cleaned in awhile. They have a larger pools that's a little cooler and kid friendly. The hotter springs we're adults only and with various temperatures, it was the perfect soak after a long hike. Since Ouray Hot Springs is a mineral hot springs, there's no rotten egg smell like other sulfur hot springs.

K W.

Yelp
Its not truly nature because when i get out of that water. My swimsuit reeks by actual swimming pool chemical. $26 admission is pricey. I would recommend $12 for that quality.

Tracey B.

Yelp
This was disappointing. I had never been to a hot springs but I guess I imagined a natural pool with hot bubbly water. This was a variety of swimming pools with different degrees of warmth....some felt like bath water. It was very crowded and expensive to get in. Not something that I would do again, at least here.

Mike L.

Yelp
Nice clean facilities. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Sadly the slides were closed for the season and towel rentals were no longer available as they were available for purchase (used) now. There is also a nice koi pond with turtles, crawfish, etc. next to the facility.

Patricia H.

Yelp
Neat family experience. Lots of levels of hotness to sample. The admission price allows you to come and go all day but bring your own towels or you will have to buy one. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and sample the local hot springs.

Ali B.

Yelp
Stopped here during our Ouray/Telluride trip! It was a little expensive, but worth it for a one time thing. I loved soaking in the hot springs surrounded by mountains! I also got to swim laps in the fitness pool which was fun! People here were nice and good about following social distancing rules. The adult only pool was closed which was a bummer, but we still had a great time!

Michelle R.

Yelp
Called and called and called. Then called some more and NO ONE answers. Two days of calling...I get it tourist, are dicks. Been there dealt with that. But for those of us as locals, it'd be pretty rad to enjoy our mountain recreation activities as well.

Seth A.

Yelp
Have to give this place 5 stars. For myself....it was all about the views and scenery! I am truly convinced that Ouray, Colorado is the prettiest city in the United States! So...having a hot springs pool and park embedded right in the center of town surrounded by magnificent snow-capped mountains was a sight to behold. No wonder they call Ouray the "Switzerland of America"...it's that gorgeous! After spending the day driving fantastic "Million Dollar Highway" arriving in Ouray, I couldn't wait to kick back, take off my shoes and head into the waters. I was actually just neutral on hanging out in the hot springs...I was strictly there to soak up the scenery, lol. I guess you could say this review is more of a promotion of Ouray than spending time in the pools. Still, it's a unique setting and I'd recommend to everyone to come relax here as it's a prominent activity situated in the heart of this cozy mountain town. Entrance fee is $18 for adults staying the day for as long as you'd like. They offer discounts for seniors and youths. What I appreciated about this place is since I found it spontaneously as I was driving through town, I didn't have a towel or bathing suit with me and they offered both! You can rent a towel and a swim suit for $2 each. That's a great deal. They have all types of pools. A shallow pool, hot pool, overlook pool with a waterfall, lap pool, activity pool, and even water slides. There's plenty to do for families. For myself, I just sat myself down in the hot pool and appreciated the surroundings. But either pool you choose, the mountains engulf you...there's not a bad view to be had. This was an ideal place for me to take a step back, put the little things in perspective and understand how lucky I felt to be in such a magnificent setting...feeling like I was an eternity away from home and reality. It was humbling! The hours are convenient. Summer peak season they're open 10am - 10pm. Although I left before sundown, visitors mentioned the lights illuminating the pools at night makes for a special environment! Even in winter season, hours generally range from 12pm - 9pm. So, you can spend your day exploring Ouray, walking around town, hanging out at another interesting sight...Box Canyon Falls, and when convenient come over to the hot springs. Finally, Hot Springs Pool and Park also offers a fitness center, massage area, food at Rib City Grill, and even swimming lessons. So if you're exploring Ouray....you owe it to yourself or family to come stop by here and appreciate the warm waters and all that's offered with some of the most scenic mountain views you'll find anywhere in the USA.

Bridger D.

Yelp
Be careful if storms are approaching they have no remorse for your money. I swiped my card for a whopping $27 a person at 7:11pm and was in the water for 2-3 minutes roughly. At 7:20pm they called lightning, we waited 40 minutes or so and the storm didn't clear up. I went to leave and they offered me a weather pass and would not refund my money after telling them I would never be in Ouray ever again. Could of been handled better in my opinion for the price I payed.

Jacqueline C.

Yelp
My family really enjoyed coming here, it was also neat to read about all the history! A relaxing and lovely experience. I wish we lived here so we could go everyday.

Sophie W.

Yelp
Went here about an hour before they closed. I'm not sure if you can really call it a "hot springs" because it seemed more like a couple of swimming pools that were heated. The slide was closed and I think the temperature could've been higher for it to be a more enjoyable experience. Bring your own towels unless you want to pay $5 for a rental.

Ben H.

Yelp
Really disappointing experience overall. We arrived to find out the prices listed online are wrong and the actual cost is much higher. The staff were pretty unfriendly overall too. After we paid, the staff then proceeded to tell us that 4 of the 6 pools were closed (wish we would have know that before we paid). So no using the slide, the toys, the climbing wall, the lanes, not even the adult soaking pool. Just the wading pool and the hot tub pool. The water smells heavily of chlorine so it's not a really pleasant experience soaking. The wading pool was on the cool side especially considering how cold it was (39 degrees out). The hot tub pool seemed overly hot. I hung out in it for 10 minutes and got a headache. We spent about 30 minutes soaking in the pools. That was all there was to do. Not worth the high prices and very low value we received for how much we paid.

Chase H.

Yelp
I had a lot of fun here, specifically spent 3 hours swimming around and playing games with the people that strive in the shallow pool. However the activity pool and the lap pool were FREEZING! It was almost unbearable. But the rock wall was fun. I had a great time here and was a little disappointed when the activity pool was fully closed at 6:00 PM. However, I recommend visiting if you wanna make friends.

Rick H.

Yelp
Couldn't use the pool because they didn't have enough lifeguards. 3hr wait... but a big storm came through so it was good that we didn't go in. Don't they know it's tourist season? You would think they would have a plan...

Vanessa A.

Yelp
Slides are fun, obstacle course and climbing wall were loved by my 8yr old. If you can't pass a swim test nothing deeper than 3.5' for you get kids to play/learn in. The hot pool is warm- not hot by any means. Arrived at 3:20 to learn about a full pool 15minute safety break at 4p. During that time a storm rolled in. They closed slides but not pool. They have a 5mile lightning policy..:this photo shows a 7mile radius. Strikes were obviously closer. We weren't comfortable staying with lightning so close but were told no rain check since lifeguards felt it was still safe even though radar showed otherwise and no rain check for slides being closed

Masha Z.

Yelp
This is the place to be! I have gotten the opportunity to visit this hot springs before the renovation and after. The new improved Hot Springs are amazing. There were plenty of places to put your towels and chairs. I really enjoyed the 18 or older section. The lifeguards were actually very on top of making sure no kids were in that area. I paid the extra three dollars to use the slides all day and that was the best way of spending $3. Even thought they look super tall they are not scary. The rock climbing was as pretty entertaining and challenging. The bathrooms/changing area was clean and I noticed that it was getting a routine check every 15 mins. What are you waiting for?!? Grab everyone and go here!

Phon W.

Yelp
Went on a Monday afternoon during Covid in the summer time. Only a couple pools open, Lap pool was also open. It wasn't very busy and very clean. The Walter felt great. It was a gorgeous surrounding.

Craig P.

Yelp
I can't believe that we've stayed in Ouray 4 times before we tried this place. At the time they were open with limited occupancy due to COVID. We ended up loving this place! The big springs pool is setup awesome for many people to hang out comfortably and safely. On this last trip we did the big pool and Iron Mountain in Glenwood and I think that we enjoyed this one the most. Crazy, I know, but I speak the truth. :)

Hoku K.

Yelp
90º water while it's snowing.... uh yes please. We had a great time soaking in the hot water and watching it snow around us. Easy fun.

Adrienne G.

Yelp
Truthfully, I cannot complain because the pool was hot and felt great, however this lacks ALL feeling of a "hot spring". It was a heated city swimming pool and that's exactly what it felt like. Kids galore, lifeguards, lots of lights. This lacked a "natural relaxing" feel. However, like I said, the water was hot (and clean!)

Jennifer N.

Yelp
This was place looked so run down and raggedy. I came for the hot springs. The hot spring pools looked so nasty I couldn't even get myself in. Super small and everyone was cramped together. For me personally, I would not recommend this place if you're looking for a real deal hot spring.

Oren P.

Yelp
Famous but over-priced (especially without access to everything there - "due to COVID"). Basically just a large "wading" pool with hot water piped in.

Leslie M.

Yelp
I didn't go in the pool, but just went to the free playground next door. It was a decent size playground, the weather was great and it is just so beautiful.

Anudari E.

Yelp
This place is amazing even for hot spring addict. Friendly staff, patrons and great pools filled with different temp water and the main one had sand bottom which was pleasant. Clothing optional part was strange at first then immediately became comfortable realizing that it's more adoptable than we think. Loved the hot and cold pool along with the sauna situated next to each other and certainly there are not too many of this combination around.

Karen M.

Yelp
Great hot springs, visited during the winter months. Note that the upper pool is closed and the deck around the whole pool is also closed during the winter. The staff at the facility has much to learn about great customer service and treating people nicely. We called to ask about the pools and was given so much attitude as answers, then when we arrived, we found that the questions we asked were not accurately answered. The staff at the front desk seems like they have no interest in helping people and are annoyed by guests asking questions. Place could be so much better..

Ellis E.

Yelp
Absolutely love these hot springs. felt so refreshed after getting out, and it was especially soothing now during the cold winter season. i am visiting from Georgia and will be back again before I leave colorado. Sherry the lifeguard was so friendly and informative, providing me with info about where the water comes from, some history of Ouray, as well as great info about the area when I asked. That was very helpful and appreciated!!

John B.

Yelp
What an awesome little place. To be able to enjoy the magnificent view while soaking in this wonderfully calm pool.... Pretty darn cool.

Heather G.

Yelp
We had an awesome time at this hot springs. Our two girls, 6 & 4, love hot springs so we always make sure we schedule a hot springs visit during our vacation and Ouray Hot Springs did not disappoint! The big pool was perfect to play around and float. We LOVED that they provided pool noodles, floaties, paddle boards, etc. The life guards we're professional and kept their eyes open. It rained and hailed a little bit, so a lot people got out but we stuck it out and the rain was gone quickly. The changing rooms were very clean, warm and spacious. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. They do have slides that are open during the busy season. This is the cheapest hot springs we have been to so far! I do suggest calling before heading over to make sure they are not at capacity for the day...thanks covid

Mr R.

Yelp
This would of been our 5 year in row coming to the hot springs but once again covid has ruined a great thing. The reason for the bad review is that the personell handled themselves extremely poorly when I show up 25 min before opening and have maybe 30 people in line they allow someone to purchase 23 tickets.wich brings them to their capasity On top of that you cant even pre purchase for another time slot! Hot springs you need to get your head in the game ! I understand we now have these new stupid rules but you are making it impossible to reccomend your establishment.

Jacob W.

Yelp
Don't know why the City can't figure out how to make this work. Pools are rarely all maintained at their proper temps. So sometimes all the guests are squeezed into one area where all the hot water is diverted. The rest is barely a warm spring - especially in winter. The hours are inconsistent because they can't afford to pay lifeguards enough to live here. And no discounts or refunds for half-open, or half-broken facilities. Pretty sad really. It is an amazing location and mineral water flows from the ground, but it has been plagued with city admin and technical issues for years. Go and see it. Because it is a natural wonder, but don't expect a first-class experience even though they will happily charge you first-class prices...

Brad S.

Yelp
Had a good soak at the springs with our family of four. Good staff, clean, and the water options were a mix of 96 and 104 degrees. Pretty chill place and great views. Not crowded at all.

Sullivan I.

Yelp
It seems you have to be a certain type of person to truly enjoy a hot springs. Don't get me wrong - I liked the experience, but after 30 minutes I was ready to move on and you really need to spend at least a few hours here to justify the entrance fee. If you tend to get antsy, I suggest bringing a book or something else to do between bouts in the water. The location provides gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains, but that's about all there is to do. That said, the water is lovely. The Hot Pool was 104° and it was glorious. Wish it were deeper but I also understand why it's not. Unfortunately, I forgot a crucial point that being closer to the sun (about 6800ft higher altitude than at home) you burn a lot faster. Don't make the mistake I did; I only put sunscreen on exposed bits and I got burned THROUGH my swim suit THROUGH the water. As for amenities: 1) It's called a hot springs, but it's more of a pool. I half expected to be sitting in rocky cauldrons, so I was very happy that's it's actually just a shallow regular pool. 2) There's no food or drinks for sale inside, but there is a soda vending machine outside. Didn't see a food one. 3) Bathrooms were reasonably clean. Changing room was as clean as they ever are with a pool nearby. There was a spinner to wring your suit out, which is especially nice if you plan to hit the road immediately after. 4) There are towels for rent ($2) and coin-operated lockers (50¢, but they only open once so make sure you have what you need before closing) and the showers were $2 as well but honestly since there's no chlorine you don't really need one. All in all it was perfectly pleasant, but I think beach bum personalities would enjoy it more than I did. [visited 4/25/18]

Amber B.

Yelp
These hot springs were really nice. It was so wonderful after a long day to relax in hot water and stare up at the mountain view. It was $18 a person to get in, which I felt was a little steep and I would've liked the adult pool to be a little bit deeper. I know it's a natural hot spring and to keep it hot, they probably have to keep it shallow, but it's hard to submerge yourself in 3ft of water and sit on the bench at the same time. All in all, Ouray is awesome and it was a great day.

Christina P.

Yelp
Not super happy with the experience here. I have waited to come visit until the remodel was complete but yesterday when I visited the hot spring with my boyfriend half the place was shut down. Only two of the pools were open and no one mentioned it until we were already changed and outside. The woman at the register was very rude. She let some people in without paying. She hounded 7 and 8 year olds for their ids (what 7 and 8 year old has an id?) because kids under a certain age are a few bucks cheaper. Honestly these kids looked young and the cut off is 12. She didn't take her job seriously when she let a few people in for free and then we saw them in the pools. They do not have drinks or food for sale which is not convenient. We only stayed an hour anyway because the pools were over crowded due to half the place being closed down. I'd also like to add that you have to pay for a locker if you want to lock up your stuff. I think we will be heading back to the new Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs !

James M.

Yelp
Nice place to soak away your cares. Several pools, all with varying temperatures from the natural hot springs. Nice locker and shower facility. Prices are a little high but they do have military and senior discounts.

Mel G.

Yelp
You can't beat the view the location and bonus....the price! $12 per adult and $6 under twelve. If you go over early in the morning get a stamp for all day you can come in and out all day. The backdrop alone is fabulous...the mountain tops alone are gorgeous! The variety of pools temperatures is inviting there is temp pool for everyone. The pools really accommodate kids of all ages....if you are looking for a spa environment this is not for you. They have slides, obstacles courses and water fall features for the kids. I love how they all eventually make friends. The staff were really friendly and as massive as this place is it's surprisingly clean. This is a unique feature in a special place like Ouray, Co....if you are in the area take 2-3 hours and make this a place to go.

Phil L.

Yelp
Very clean with views to die for. However $$$ is high. Nothing included with admission. Water slide, towels and even showers cost extra. We went early so very few people. Enjoyed our visit.

Lisa H.

Yelp
My fist trip to a hot spring. My daughter lives in CO and had been to several. She told me that other hot springs have features that this one doesn't but the scenic view at this particular hot spring can't be beat! Showers, changing rooms, swimsuit dryer (spinner) towels, lockers were all available, and very convenient. I will go back!

Nicole B.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Only half the pools were open, dirty and only 100 degrees. There was one pool that was 70 degrees. The worst hot springs I've been to

Cristian S.

Yelp
This place is under construction now but they have 2 pools open, beautiful to relax in a summer evening !

Kim K.

Yelp
This place was great except for the men's dressing/restroom. The women's room had plenty of changing stalls for privacy while the men's only had a few (according to our boys). This pool has a policy that children can only go through the locker room with an opposite sex parent up to age 6. If your child is 7 or 8 and has to go to the restroom he has to go alone. Men were walking around and changing openly in front of kids. Additionally, what if a dad walks through with a 5 year old girl?! She is exposed to grown men walking around naked. This could turn into a very bad situation for a lot of people. It is also traumatic for some kids whether anything bad happens or not.

Lou B.

Yelp
Great place to hang with the family. Good pools for kids and nice natural hot tubs (adults only). Not cheep, but best views around and easy way to spend the day.

Anne W.

Yelp
I feel like I read many negative reviews before we went, but I'm SO glad I tried it anyway. People who worked there were friendly, all pools were clean and amazing to relax in, and my kids had an amazing time on both the obstacle course and the slides. Yes, there is a swim test before your kids can play in the adventure pools, but I don't think it's a bad thing at all since those pools are deep. They have to complete one lap in freestyle swimming and one lap back in backstroke. BUT if your kids aren't great at swimming yet and are over 48", they can still be on the water slides anyway since they don't empty into a pool. The shower area is clean and has wonderful hot water and plenty of changing areas for before or after your swim. Every member of my family thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We may even visit again before heading back home. Thanks for a great visit!
