Soo bomb! I live an hour away and was told to come here from a local. Well seasoned, fresh, and tasty. 10/10 recommended. Shrimp cocktail was beautiful price as well

Tried smoked tuna for the first time was very good, topped it off with some calamari and fried scallops. Scallops were the best I have eaten all season

Came here on holiday for some seafood this 4th. I’ve been here many occasions and every time the food was great. This year I’m sorry I can’t say the same. We had a lobster bake and the lobster was undercooked and had many of its innards quite mushy and fishy. We also had the clam chowder and it wasn’t hot and just merely warm, quite heavy on the cream and the clams had sand in them. We also ordered some wild rice, which I loved in the past, but the grains this time were quite hard and dried, definitely need more water. The steam shrimps were overcooked as well and were too firm, no snap that fresh shrimps texture should taste. Maybe it’s because they were busy on a holiday, but that’s no excuse for serving a not so appealing lobster for its customers, considering the cost of a lobster bake is somewhere around $80 to $90. Im quite disappointed in their food quality overall and I hope the next time I go back the food quality will improve.

I went here specifically to try their lobster roll. While on LI why not right? They have 3 choices, hot, cold, or combo. I went with a combo and was not disappointed. I’m still not sure which one I would rather choose, so combo is best. You can buy cooked food, or you can buy raw seafood inside. Overall, good spot. Worth the trip for a good lobstah roll.

Google
Seafood was fresh, but waited for 40 mins for lobster roll 😅 loved their clam chowder and steamer.

Google
As we were parking, we noticed how quickly people were walking up to the restaurant. What we didn’t realize was that seating was very limited. 3 outdoor tables to accommodate larger parties and a few small tables for up to 4 guests inside the restaurant. On a Friday night, we had to wait about 15 mins to grab a table. Very friendly staff. They provided a high chair for our little one. Fish was greasy. Lobster roll was good and scallops were delicious. The fries were good too!

Google
Fish and chips super good, flaky batter, fried to perfection; both fish and chips.. yum

Yelp
Out of the Blue may be out of the way, but if I want Steamers cooked and tasting as I'd expect, I go out of the way to Out of the Blue! I even drive through what the locals refer to as "The Trade Parade," when all the tradesmen/women are leaving this end of Long Island. Yes, I'd drive pretty much drive through anything to get Out of The Blue Steamers and more. Very casual with limited tables inside and outside, "Blue" offers what you'd expect from a seafood restaurant and market. The employees are friendly. The restaurant is clean. You order, select a table and enjoy. Easy peasy. Try it!

Yelp
Saturday afternoon and I'm working. Holiday weekend and what else do I have to do I ask rhetorically. Well it's a rush for a property in the world famous Hamptons. An opportunity to spend the day with the rich and famous. I digress, do you really care? Let's talk about the food at Out Of The Blue. So here's how it works. You find a table, return to the counter, place your order, return to your table and wait for your order to be delivered to your table. I'm thinking this is not going to work. Well I was wrong. Did I say I was wrong? Anyway I ordered the broiled scallops which came with two sides. Mrs. E ordered sautéed cod. I know, don't ask. Look, this isn't fine dining by any stretch of the imagination, although the prices may have you think it is. But it was good. Initially I thought I would have the Lobster Roll but i passed. I lady at the next table did have the Lobster Roll and loved it. Now I'm not complaining because our lunches were excellent and the next time I'm in the area I'll definitely go back. This is also a fish market so you can purchase any type of fish to take home and cook yourself. I may do that next time too.

Yelp
Way too understaffed for end of June on Montauk Hwy. In Hampton Bays - especially at the beginning of the heading into the long stretch of Shinnecock area. This is a top location and workers were stressing and edgy. Two more people needed at least. In food - Build it they will come! Crowd wise at least. Asked about the Manhattan - no taste offered Just a scoop lifted and comment about it being Manhattan clam chowder . Oh ok so then just give me the small - cant do a quart untested - lol Over comes the New England - eeek Ok so then when told - insisted I told him New England and the classic flinging out of the cup after saving the chowder - Thanked Was grateful for the soup - tipped and thought wow - they need to ramp up the front counter - who were also getting clams - one woman gave a waiting tables away to a new person on the line - heard that stressing out my soup guy - When in the Hamptons chill out and thank them - it's a lot to go from 2 to 100 in a few weeks. Dockers is the only place that nails it every time - but you're going to pay for it. All around ok place for all types of seafood - Manhattan chowder is Meh - watery potatoey - But a few fresh clams - so ok. Their claim to fame is their clams and steamers - fresh and delicious. Nice outdoor picnic tables on the deck before the door. Wait service and cool drinks or beer. Insider a few tables for dining in. Very reliably good. Go to chill out and enjoy real locally made soups and fresh seafood.

Yelp
My family and friends always come here. We have never had a bad experience until the other day I ordered the mussel fra Diavolo. I spit out two mussels because they literally tasted like muck and rotten. I could not finish it because I got turned off by it from that. I got sick that night from it. And I never get sick. I know mussels are easy to get sick from but that has never happened to me. I was disappointed.

Yelp
Great place. Awesome food with awesome service. Service was super friendly and quick. Food was hot and cooked perfect. Great value for the price. Thank you and we will be back

Yelp
Delicious, homey, and fast. We ordered some local seafood for an appetizer in this small, shack-like restaurant. We had cooked mussels, raw claims, and raw oysters. You order at the counter and take the food to eat on your own. A very casual, friendly environment. Everything was fresh and the ambience was relaxing and calm. Prices were reasonable and a good value. It was not busy at all on a weekday early dinner.

Yelp
Fish and chips super flaky and crispy, crunchy fries real good, $20 basket what a deal, nice staff also

Yelp
This will always be Indian Cove to us, even in its third iteration. This is a Hamptons institution, a place where kids can play with sea creatures, and we can pick our own lobsters from the other tanks. They'll steam the lobsters for you, if you don't want to do it at home. I'm glad that the new owners haven't messed with a successful formula. The smoked tuna salad is TDF, and a must every summer. The price, at $14.99 a pound, is an increase from the last time that I bought it, at $9.99 a pound, but oh well. That was a while ago. The crab cakes that we bought for takeout were DELICIOUS. Some breading, not a lot. Service is cheerful and friendly. We didn't dine in during this visit, but have in the past. It's a clean, simple, not-fancy but very comfortable place. It's sunny and bright. To me, it's evocative of the "old" Hamptons. I'm glad that it's still around, and unchanged.

Peggy G.

Yelp
Went there in the middle of the Saturday night crush for take out. The young people working the crowd were so patient and upbeat under the pressure. Impressive! My shrimp dinner was cooked exactly as I ordered it and I so enjoyed it. Delicious and fresh. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Came here for the first time last week and the food was out of this world. What a great seafood market you can buy fresh seafood to go and order for dine in. Came here with my fiancé and her dad for dinner and the food was great. Fiancé dad got a clams on the shell with a bunch of other seafood options and I had a fried shrimp basket. My fiancée got fried fish and chips and everything was fried to perfection. Shrimp and fish seasoned right and friend perfect and very flavorful. The kid who works the counter is amazing and very great at his job. He literally does everything there and def needs a raise. He takes orders, serves drinks, expedites food, brings food to your table, cleans up after, bags up fresh fish if you're taking it to go, and just all over the place. He's very good at his job and plays a huge part in getting people their food. I look forward to coming back and trying different things on the menu.

Yelp
I n stopped here for lunch on the way to Montauk. What a great spot. You order at the counter and take a seat. Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the New England Clam Chowder. The raw clams were extremely fresh. I wished I could have bought some of the fish from the market. It looked like they came right off the boat.

Yelp
Being in Hampton Bays, near the ocean, inevitably stirs seafood cravings, so I headed to Out of the Blue Seafood for an informal dinner. While not the fanciest dinner spot (think lined baskets, paper plates, and plastic utensils/cups), Out of the Blue Seafood offers solid seafood options, beers on tap, and takeout. We started with fried calamari: while the batter had less flavor/seasoning than we might have wanted, the dipping sauce was delicious. The fish'n'chips was hot'n'tasty and the clams in the clam linguini were plentiful--would've liked the garlic bread to have been more garlicky and less obviously from a package. That said, service was friendly and swift.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the crab cakes and the soups! They are amazing. Definitely worth the trip if you're looking for excellent seafood at a reasonable price. Totally recommend.

Jean M.

Yelp
The seafood was good and fresh. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. It was $85 for 1 pound of lobster salad! Small deli size container. I understand prices have gone up, and I understand it's the Hamptons and in the Hamptons, you can rip people off no problem, but that's a little over the top don't you think?
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Good place for seafood. I actually liked the clam chowder alot, but the clams were gritty, which was too bad. The steamers were the giant size which i prefer smaller ones, but NO grit on them, nice! Service was very nice, courteous young helpers. Sea scallops were very good. Big size, about 7 pieces a meal. Clams with pasta was not so good (Not al dente, sauce so so) but they gave a good amount of clams. Casual seating which is fine. Would come back again.

Yelp
This place has the best seafood in all of the Hamptons, at the most competitive price you'll find. It's a super casual spot and not trendy at all, so if you're looking for a "scene" this spot isn't for you. But if you want fresh seafood without the stuffy attitude or hefty price tag, look no further than Out of the Blue. I've been here dozens of times and have never once left feeling let down or disappointed. Some key things you should know: This spot is counter service only, order what you want with the cashier, pick a table and wait for it to be ready. They serve beer on draft and by the can, but if you're looking for a full bar this isn't it. Their specials are incredible, but my favorite items on their menu are the buckets, particularly the steamers and lobster bucket. Everything on this menu is insanely fresh and well executed. In my opinion, it's also fairly priced compared to other seafood spots in the area. If you're looking for a lobster roll, the hot and cold duo they serve is fantastic and a great value for the price. I've had a soft shell crab sandwich here that was so good I started tearing up. Their soups are also delicious, the New England clam chowder here is a standout. It gets busy during the summers here and you may need to wait a bit for a table to clear out, but it's absolutely worth it. 10/10, no notes.

Yelp
Stopped by here today after doing a Seal Viewing in Montauk. I ordered a Seafood Pasta. The seafood pasta came with Mussels, Shrimp, Calamari. It all tasted fresh, there was not much sauce on the pasta. But it was a good dish overall. While looking at the menu, I saw they were charging $75 for Lobster Salad. What in blue blazes??? No way is it worth that much. Overall: It's a good solid seafood place, if you are in the area.
google avatar

Lauren J.

Yelp
Awesome place. Really fresh seafood market which also doubles as a restaurant (so you know it's fresh!). Shrimp cocktail and baked clams are awesome. Daily specials. Frequent customers can sign up for a loyalty program which keeps us coming back. Great soups. Highly recommended and underrated
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
This is a really cool place. You order at the counter and then take a seat at a table if there's any tables available. We ordered steamed little clams, which were absolutely wonderful. Broiled seafood combination dinners which were wonderful as well. Prices were high, yes, but this is also the Hamptons Hamptons. They could definitely use some more seating, but they're working with what they got.
google avatar

Yelp
We were in the area and decided to stop by here for lunch. It is a very casual seafood restaurant - with some seating outside and inside as well. We actually came with a huge group so the service was a bit slow since they got slammed with a bunch of orders on our end. Not exactly the most big group friendly place but somehow we made it work. My boyfriend and I decided to get the Cold Lobster Roll and Fish Tacos. They both came with sides of fries and cole sale. The fries were chief's kiss - super crispy and absolutely delicious. The fish tacos were perfectly crispy and they were pretty stuffed. The cold lobster roll was not too bad - I definitely had better lobster rolls but if you are having a craving then it definitely hits the spot. I also like that they actually come with a half and half which is a lobster roll that is hot on one end and cold on the end (for those who cannot choose which one they like more). A bit on the price-y end but the seafood was very fresh. Very friendly staff as well so definitely recommend this place if you are in the area!

Yelp
This was a great accidental find. Was craving seafood because i was in the Hamptons and was staring at water half the day. Lol. I got the oyster po' boy and clam chowder. Alllll winning choices. Yummmm.

Yelp
Since moving back to California, my husband and I will randomly get these cravings for a warm buttery lobster roll. Although we can find some rolls out here, nothing compares to the ones we have enjoyed on the East Coast. It's always a priority stop for us to have one while we're in the area visiting. During our most recent trip to New York we stopped by Out of the Blue Seafood upon recommendation from family who live locally. Let me tell you, it definitely didn't disappoint. A cute building one can't miss driving by, Out of the Blue Seafood occupies a good size space with its own lot for patrons to utilize. They offer a plethora of seafood options from raw to cooked items making them the perfect destination for any seafood lover. Service was efficient and helpful. We were greeted upon entering, had our questions answered with patience, and received our order in a timely manner. The establishment was also clean. We felt very safe ordering and dining in. As mentioned, our main reason for coming was to have a warm buttery lobster roll. We ordered two (one for my hubby and one for me) and couldn't resist sharing the Lobster Mac n' Cheese. Everything was delicious. Our lobster roll was oozing with a ton of tender, buttery lobster meat. The Lobster Mac n' Cheese was also phenomenal. Super flavorful, pasta cooked perfectly, and it also had an extremely generous amount of lobster meat mixed in. The meal was a little pricey for a lunch but totally worth every penny based on the taste, quality, and quantity. They met the mark on all levels. Out of the Blue Seafood is now our go-to place for a lobster roll (and possibly more) while out in Southampton. We noted so many other things to try during our next visit and can't wait to return.

Yelp
Ordered fried flounder thru Uber eats and the fish is raw and soggy. New England clam chowder was sandy and not good. What a shame! Won't order from here again

Yelp
Low key. Gravel parking lot. Right on Montauk Hwy in Hampton Bays, Out Of The Blue has a decent variety of seafood. Word to the wise- bucket of Steamers with drawn butter if anything- are quite tasty and meaty. Fried oysters here are also meaty and good- (I've always held on to my fave Sanibel Island spot as my blueprint) Dreamy place? It isn't- but to me, a gravel parking lot says coastal and beachy- and Out Of The Blue is it. Inside's more woodsy with a cashier as you enter and a small selection of fresh fish to purchase. Not sure if Blue is a 'pick and they cook' type of place- but ask. Service was chill from the guys here. If you wanna snag one of their blue picnic tables go ahead. But the tables weren't spaced at 6'- so I didn't want people all over me and vice versa. We picked food on the first day to eat by our room, the second visit, we popped the trunk and dug right in to a bucket of steamers. It's better anyway!
google avatar

Sylvian F.

Yelp
For $43 a sandwich the expectations for a decent lobster roll are high. These were sorely disappointing. All you need is fresh claw meat, butter, a squirt of lemon, a fresh roll (covered in more butter) and you have the best lunch sandwich I can think of. The bun was just so so, the lobster did not taste fresh; it had almost certainly been previously frozen and was dry and chewy. There was a bit of a fishy taste as well which doesn't belong. Of you are not going to do this classic right, please don't include it on the menu.
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
Casual vibe, with a small amount of seating indoors and a few picnic bench tables outside. Order at the counter and food is brought to you. Staff is friendly and makes great recommendations. Food is delicious and comes out quickly! I had the Lobster Roll Combo and it did not disappoint.

Margaret Ann C.

Yelp
service wasn't good not friendly food was terrible we just moved in to area will not come back had soft shell crabs b they were cooked in old oil and the fried clams and fries very greasy cooked in old oil place was run by young incompetent people
google avatar

Jenn S.

Yelp
The best seafood spot at the beginning of the Hamptons! Love that they offer a great seafood market of fresh fish and shellfish as well as amazing prepared meals and dishes like their bomb stuffed scallops. When we are out in HB, we opt to go here and eat in. The staff is young but super nice and helpful and they are quick to help with getting tables ready for the next wave of hungry seafood lovers. Prices to portions are just right too. Must order the new England clam chowder, the lobster bisque, the bucket of eat & peel shrimp, a bucket of steamers, crab cake app, the lobsters, and I have to say they grill up some pretty kick ass asparagus too. Oh and if you want to have the stuffed clams or scallops in house, they'll broil those up for you as well. And do not pass up the lobster Mac & Cheese!!!
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
The place will satisfied your seafood cravings! Being home this means the world to me!! I love seafood so much and I was so content after this meal. So fresh and delicious. The steamers were perfect & the raw plate e.i clams, oyster & shrimp YUM
google avatar

Nora F.

Yelp
Wow! I like this place! I want to come back! This simple place offers some super-duper fresh seafood! This will be my to-go, to-eat, to-dream and take-home. They have outside seating that could accommodate about 15-20 people. They also have the seafood market in the back of the restaurant area. I saw some live lobsters too. We stopped in the restaurant after spending time at the beach. It's kind of touristic but wasn't sure, maybe tourists come in the summer time. We noticed some see a few European tourists here and there. I have to come back during off season to confirm this. Here you place the order at the counter and they bring the food out for you. It's not a fancy place so some orders came with plastic foam plates. We had steamers that came in a bucket. This was awesome. Definitely would come back for the steamers. Then I ordered the swordfish that served with broccoli and asparagus. This one was absolutely fish-bulous! Try it! Hubby ordered the seafood pasta and that was sea-licious! So we had 3 perfect dishes. The vote is in! I approved this message! They have some fantastic servers. Usually places like this like to hire upbeat people and indeed they were pretty upbeat! We like upbeat people because we are an upbeat couple! We really enjoyed this place. Definitely would return for more seafood! Thanks for our nice lunch!
google avatar

Jude R.

Yelp
We had a really nice meal here on the way back from Sag Harbor and HarborFrost. Place is a typical fish store with about 7 tables and a small counter/bar. The person at the counter was friendly and helpful. Started with the fried calamari which was hot and fresh. Very tasty. I had the broiled scallops and asparagus which was excellent. Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. My date had the cod which was also outstanding as well. Only downside was it was cold in the dining area.
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
Can't get this stuff in New Mexico so when I'm here I try to OD on good quality fresh seafood and Out of the Blue delivers. Had a bowl of their New England Clam Chowder to start and it was rich and delicious with just the right amount of clams to potatoes mixture. My wife had the King Crab legs with 2 big legs decorating the plate. I had the large bucket of Steamers. BAM what a treat. By the time we finished we both needed to hose down. If you're out anywhere on the east end of Long Island and are hankerin for some great seafood Out of the Blue is for you.
google avatar

Solei P.

Yelp
Love it here! With both indoor and outdoor seating options. They cook your food fresh from the display of recently caught fish and crustaceans. Well seasoned blacked salmon and I always get a few shucked oysters and the NE Clam Chowder is velvety smooth and filled with flavor. The food is excellent and the service is great! Variety options and most of all its good for clean eating!
google avatar

Miao M.

Yelp
This is my first time dine here, however, not the first visit to this spot. We came here last year to purchase some seafood for dinner. The owner was very friendly and greeted us. Even helped to pick out the seafood. This time we ordered baked clams, cocktail shrimps, lobster bisque and steamed shrimp bucket. Can't beat the local flavor. Food was yummy and came out quickly. We will have to come back again before leaving town.

Debbie H.

Yelp
We were on vacation in the Hamptons and needed to get takeout for dinner to the Air BnB. Someone mentioned Out Of The Blue Seafood. Placed a large order for a big crowd. Pickup was quick and efficient. Food was absolutely delicious and portions were quite sufficient even taking it out, which usually compromises the quality & taste. Highly recommend!! Can't wait to dine in the restaurant on our next vacation!

Duney M.

Yelp
Casual, chill vibes with delicious food and good service. We had the blackened swordfish which came with 2 sides - the broccoli and the corn. For $22 it was a fair price. It was delicious! The lobster salad on a salad was delicious too. The kids fish sticks were a generous portion and also very flavorful! We will be back!
google avatar

Jill G.

Yelp
The best fresh fish around! I swear everything i eat here is delicious. My favorite is the bucket of steamers they are always juicy. Service is great whether they are crowded or slow the staff is always on top of each customer and your order. I wish the ambiance was better, as it is a pick up type of place with some seating, if they had an actual dining area i would come with my children all of the time
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
We wanted seafood ND selected this place. LouAnn took great. Care of us Wife had New Enand cl choudord. I had the Seafood Platter which we split Food was great. Service great. Atmosphere was unique. We will be back to see LouAnn.

Mike J.

Yelp
Best oysters and clams in the hamptons. If You're expecting a fancy restaurant this is not it. It's a fresh seafood store and Restaurant clam shack. The service is pretty good. It's pretty much run by younger kids who do their best, but as I said before the best oysters and clams in the Hamptons and the fresh seafood and fish is also top-notch. You can either take it home raw or they will cook it for you to either take home or sit down and eat. I am there at least once a week. They also have cooked food and pasta dishes, and wonderful crabcakes, but I go there for the raw bar.
google avatar

Derek Y.

Yelp
Good food at a fair market price. Surf and turf was expensive but you got a large steak and a whole 1 1/4 lbs lobster. Lobster roll is a little pricey but had a huge amount of meat in it and no fillers. Other meals tasted great and portions were plentiful. Sat outside in the perfect weather.
google avatar

Julianna H.

Yelp
The food was all very delicious and the pick up process was seamless. The food was brought right to our car and put in the back seat. My recommendation would be to have your oven hot when you bring the food home to keep it warm. Seafood cools down so quickly, and is best fresh and hot.

Philip D.

Yelp
Great seafood. Smoked fish is awesome. Very, very casual dining. Prices are fair. Food comes Out fast. They do a nice takeout business.
google avatar

Joan H.

Yelp
Friendly, casual, quality -- not an easy trifecta to hit in the Hamptons. But these folks do it. The ordering setup is confusing if you're a newbie, and it's not gonna come out real fast, but that's because it's real good. Fresh oysters were great, fresh clams were amazing. Fried scallops advertised as a "basket" came out tossed onto a paper plate, but were so tender, lightly fried, and flavorful that we dropped the attitude right away. :)
google avatar

Erica W.

Yelp
This place caught my eye as I was passing by. I pulled in and was so happy I did. The aromas greeting you when you walk in are the first tip this was a great idea! All of the sea food is fresh, (alive in the tanks in the back) cooked to order. I had the buffalo calamari w/ blue cheese appetiser on special and the teriyaki sea scallops plate for dinner. Wonderful after my Half Marathon run today!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Great!!! Fresh seafood....We don't dine in but do take out all of the time!!! Salmon is delicious & you must get a bucket of steamers!!! Lobster bake is delish!!!! Great spot & very cute & casual inside!!!

Chrus K.

Yelp
Fabulous fresh seafood! Casual self service. Sweet scallops and great grilled swordfish! Prices are right especially for the Hamptons!
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
yum, stopped here for lunch. Very very clean place, we had a bucket of steamers, mussels and little necks that were just fabulous. Did I mention really clean? No fish smell at all, and it is a fish market too. Not fancy, but the food is good.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. A small space but they even accommodates our huge party of 15. I was impressed. They were busy the whole time through and I learned why. I ordered the clam chowder and the hot and cold combo lobster roll. The chowder was delicious with many chunks of clams and potatoes. The lobster roll was buttery and toasted. By farvoje of the better rolls. Both the hot and cold (lobster salad) portions were delicious. I couldn't pick a winner. Everyone at my table enjoyed what they had some had crab sandwich, flounder sandwich and fried scallop baskets. Everything was spot on. Thank you so much for your service with a smile!

Yelp
Tonight's dinner was Red Snapper, Asparagus and Cauliflower cake ! This chef is AMAZING ! Don't walk run there , and enjoy ! Give the chef ,thumbs up , so he knows I sent you !!
