Outbound Heli Adventures | Alaska

We had great time with Outbound Heli Adventures. Staff are super friendly and helpful. (Thank you for helping us to get taxi!) Thank Evan our pilot for the tour and being so caring throughout the trip. Great explanations throughout the trip. We were lucky and managed to spot moose and mountain goats. It is more than just glacier viewing but the whole helicopter experience was absolutely awesome (we flew through big rocks. It is breathtaking!)

Yesterday, I went on a flight with Outbound and WHAT an incredible time. I work in the area and spend a lot of time in the Knik River Valley but seeing it from above was incredible. We saw wildlife, drank glacial water, and took in the beautiful fall colors. Christine was a wonderful pilot-probably the smoothest helicopter ride I've ever been on- and she shared lots of info about the area that I didn't know. Outbound also shares property with an ATV company and there are cabins nearby you can stay in. If you want an action packed couple days, book with both of them, but don't skip out on the view from above. I will be back!

Such an awesome experience! We did the three stop – 2.5 hour helicopter ride today. We walked on a glacier, saw an ice wall, and landed on top of a mountain! Our pilot, Evan, was professional and very knowledgeable of the area as well as great at spotting wildlife – we saw a black bear and several moose from the air. We got to walk around for 10 to 15 minutes at each stop… And he was always ready and willing to take as many pictures of us as we wanted. I’ve done helicopter rides in other places, including Hawaii and the Grand Canyon, but getting to stop and get out and walk in the area where you’ve seen it from the sky is just a different and amazing experience. Highly recommend as they were very professional with the booking (we did it in person once in Palmer), safety video, an actual ride.

My husband and I did the helicopter excursion and glacier paddling tour with Outbound Heli this summer and it was absolutely life-changing. From start to finish, the team made the experience unforgettable. A huge shout-out to Caroline who checked us in and got us started - she was so warm, helpful, and set the tone for the day. Our pilot Logan was incredible, making us feel safe while also pointing out breathtaking sights from above. But the biggest highlight of all was our NOVA tour guide, Keenan. He was truly amazing - so knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about what he does. He shared so many fascinating facts about the glacier, the landscape, and Alaska’s history, while also keeping the group laughing and comfortable the entire time. You could tell he genuinely loves guiding and it elevated the entire experience. Keenan really made the tour something we’ll never forget. This was truly one of the most surreal and memorable adventures we’ve ever had. If you’re visiting Alaska, you have to do this tour!

We had an unforgettable experience yesterday with Outbound Heli Adventures! From the moment we booked to the end of our trip, their communication was outstanding. We had plenty of questions both before and during the booking process, and every member of the team was patient, thorough, and friendly in their responses. On-site, the service was exceptional. From the welcoming receptionist to our knowledgeable tour guide and skilled pilot, everyone was professional yet warm. We chose the combo experience of ice climbing and glacier paddling, and it truly was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The glacier’s beauty was breathtaking, and our guide team’s professionalism and thoughtfulness made the day even more special. Our group of four was accompanied by two pilots and two tour guides, giving us almost one-on-one attention. This level of care was especially meaningful for my 9-year-old and my 67-year-old mom, who both felt supported and safe throughout. We highly recommend Outbound Heli Adventures highly to anyone planning a glacier trip in Alaska.

The helicopter tour was the best part of our 5 days Alaska trip- it was like being another world. I would highly recommend Outbound Heli. Their ride time is longer than others, specially glacier landing. Our pilot, Christine was so professional and fun. She made sure we got all the best of views, ensuring our safety and encouraged us to take a dip in the lake. She is a pro and well-updated with all the info about the area. Would definitely book again!

Incredible experience! Chris and team were great and the whole experience was awesome from start to finish. Everyone was very personable and easy to converse with. Alaska was my 50th state, and I've been to over 20 countries, and this experience was in the top 5 travel experiences I've had. We were delayed due to weather, but eventually got in the air. Communication was great through the whole delay too. 10/10 would recommend!

We had an amazing experience. Starting with the super friendly staff front desk. We had reservation at 4pm but forecast said would rain that time. So we came earlier at 11:30am, hoping to get to earlier spot. When we got there, they said they were gonna cancel the rest of the day☹️ due to the wind but they will make sure with the pilot whether still good to fly or not. Luckily, 1 of the pilot who just came back said she would take us. So off we went with our pilot, Christine. She was amazing and made sure we got plenty of pictures and experiences. And she made sure we were safe. Can’t thank enough for all the crew to make it happened so we could get the best experience.

This was an incredible adventure. Bridget made the booking process easy and was great to communicate with. Our helicopter ride was made possible by our Pilot Evan, he was friendly and ensured my fiancee and I had the memorable experience of doing the Polar Plunge! (It was probably the last of the season, give it was during mid-October). Evan took really good care of us and we are excited to experience summer adventures during our next visit with Outbound!

INCREDIBLE once in a lifetime experience. Our pilot, Jon (h?), was funny, personable, and made the tour ten times better. He took us to a waterfall that had just recently unfroze, and got a video of our proposal with last minute notice of it happening super awesome dude, incredible pilot, all our take offs and landings were smooth af. I recommend this company and any of their tours to anyone nearby.

I cannot say enough great things about this company. From my call to book to waving goodbye after our adventure they were amazing. They were informative and easy to work with. They were the only place we found that could accompany our family of four in a helicopter together for the glacier trip. Kiwi, who checked us in was a great and a super calming presence for anyone a little nervous (my 11 year old). She kept everyone safe. Logan was a fantastic pilot and guide. He was helpful and kept everyone safe. He knew a ton about the glaciers. It was the first adventure on our trip and will be difficult to top!

Such an epic adventure! Wow! Exploring the Knik Glaicer from the air is unbelievable and a must when visiting Anchorage. Outbound Heli is first class all the way! Bridget made booking and planning our trip a breeze. She is so knowledgeable of the area and was even able to help us find a place to stay and eat! Our pilot Chris was so rad and friendly. We immediately felt like family. Landing on the Glaicer is also a must when visiting Alaska! I can't wait to bring the rest of my family back for another EPIC Adventure with Outbound Heli! I've been her twice both times were amazing. Thomas was great with us answered every question we had. If you are brave enough do the polar plunge.

I don't even know where to begin......our experience with Outbound Heli exceeded out expectation. We had such an amazing time with the crew. Savanah, Matt, and Bridgette made our adventure an epic one! We felt safe under their care and we were able to see a lot. Savannah was a great pilot and can skillfully land practically anywhere and Matt did a great job capturing our adventures. We highly recommend Outbound Heli for your next Alaska adventures. The crew really made our experience something to take back and we will always remember their kindness.

Absolutely put this on your bucket list!! One of the best adventures I have ever done. BOOK IT! Do not wait.

This is my first time doing something like this and it was amazing! The pilot was really nice and so where the other staff! It's a pretty short ride from when you take off and when you arrive at the glacier. When you are there they give you these things that attach to your shoes that give a lot of grip so you don't slip or fall. The views are Beautiful! I really recommend this to everyone!

Amazing experience from start to finish! I knew we were in good hands when I first spoke with Bridget to set up our Heli Ice Climbing Adventure. She was so wonderful to work with and kept us updated on everything. When we arrived they got us outfitted with fantastic waterproof boots and got us up in the helicopter for our adventure. Our experienced pilot Chris told us about the area as he flew us to the Kenik glacier. Once on the glacier we put on crampons and then we were in the hands of Nick who took us out to explore the glacier. Soon we were rappelling down a much steeper cliff than I was ready for. My teens quickly and easily repelled. Then Nick helped me navigate the rappel with such care and experience I couldn't believe I was actually rappelling (perhaps without much grace, but I did it!) Next, my husband and kids spent the next few hours climbing as Nick gave them pointers and advice. All the while we were exploring and climbing Chris was busy flying his drone and recording our day. On our flight back Chris gave us the ride of our lives. He pointed out moose and dove the helicopter down into ravines to give us an up close look of the area. I can't wait to watch the drone footage of one of the most amazing days you could ask for!
