My boyfriend and I had such a great vacation staying at the resort. The rooms were clean and well taken care of throughout our whole stay. The staff were very kind and the entertainment was so fun. We booked a partial ocean view room and honestly I felt like it was a full ocean view. We are a lot at the resort and the food was always delicious. We would love to stay here again when we come back!

Google
Stayed here for 5 days and overall had a pleasant experience. At first the room we initially got had a broken sliding door but we notified the front desk and they solved the issue and put us into a better room without an issue. Location of the resort is great as its in the middle of the island and everything is easily accessible. Rooms were clean, the property was well kept, and overall a very quiet stay. There is beach access a short walk from the rooms which give a great view of the sunrise as well. Parking is valet or self parking, either way it is $30 per night, and there is also a $35 daily resort fee, both to take into consideration here.

Great resort. Beautiful landscaping and pools with water features like a slide, a couple hot tubs and a children’s area. Wonderful beach to walk, not so great for swimming directly in front of resort but you can walk in the warm beautiful water all day. Food was good, not great but you can always Uber eats something else if you want. Room service came everyday and redid sheets and towels. I will 100% be back! Only complaint is that I was by the elevator so I got little sleep due to the noise.

Google
Great pool bar experience! Garcia was very quick to refill our drinks and great to chat with! I would highly recommend this pool bar to any travelers in the area! Can’t wait to come back. |Garcia was very knowledgeable about local amenities and things that we were into and her drinks were tasty

Google
Wonderful location, with amazing views of the ocean. What really makes this place special is the staff. Bartenders, grounds, lobby, everyone with a smile and a warm greeting. Specifically want to thank Taylor (bar staff) for making the stay extra special with conversation and attentiveness. Staff is what brings people back, and this place has solid people.

Google
I really wanted to love the Kauai Beach Resort, especially since the pictures of the pool were what drew me in for my family’s first trip to Kauai. While the grounds are beautiful—definitely deserving a solid 4 to 4.2 stars—and the staff is incredibly friendly, the rooms left much to be desired. Unfortunately, they felt outdated and dingy, almost like a motel. The brown carpeting in our room was old, faded, and had a musty smell that made me constantly remind my kids to wear their flip-flops instead of walking barefoot. The trim around the bathroom door was rusted, the beds were horribly uncomfortable, and the air vents were filthy, contributing to the overall musty atmosphere in the room. Our time on the island was fantastic, but the state of the accommodations really put a damper on our experience. To make matters worse, on our last night, we were abruptly woken up at 3:00 AM by an alarm going off in our room. Security claimed it “fixed itself” and turned off, but we were left confused and unsettled, with no idea what triggered it. Overall, while there were some redeeming qualities, the room conditions overshadowed the positives. I hope the management addresses these issues because, with a little updating, this place could be so much better.

Google
Our experience was amazing, Gracia was a fabulous bartender, very personable and welcoming to the resort. Gave us great tips for our stay. Wonderful sweetie to chat with very knowledgeable about the island and what we wanted to do. Her drinks were also delicious!!!

Marilou was a pleasure at Naupaka Terrace. Service from Front Desk to Dinner was great. Super informative and friendly. We normally stay here quite a bit thru work when we fly in for business. We always appreciate the hospitality that we always receive especially when we come to assist in volunteer work with Habitat For Humanity. Mahalo Nui!

Yelp
This resort is so convenient and has so much potential but there are some flaws. First upon checking in, you are hit with parking and resort fees. That would be fine if they had been included in the total of $3,200 we had already spent on the room for the week. Next thing we know, we are paying another $600 for parking and "resort fees". Not a great surprise. The resort has a few restaurants and a shop and a fitness center. They also provide towels for the pool area, which is limited to one per guest. They are very frugal with the towels which we thought was weird. They limit it to one towel per guest at the resort. There is an onsite gym which is VERY small considering the size of the resort. And it gets very crowded very fast. There aren't many stations or equipment to use so you have to find a time to work out around other people. When it's busy, you feel like sardines in a can and it gets really humid with everyone breathing the same air. Okay equipment and they do provide gym towels. A few restaurants on site is convenient but they need a coffee place that opens before 7am. There is nowhere on this resort to get coffee other than the keurig that comes in the rooms. The retail onsite is okay, it has all the essentials. One of the ladies working the register made uncomfortable jokes as we were buying medicine from the toiletries section and it just felt like it was in poor taste and made the interaction awkward. Plus side, they have a bunch of essentials, snacks and souvenirs for sale. So we just continued to come here and get what we needed since it's easier than getting our car and driving to the next towns over. Overall, for how much we're paying? We expected more. They are charging for a 5 star experience and maybe delivering at most a 3. It's a beautiful resort but for what is actually delivered as a guest experience, it should cost less. WAY less.

Yelp
Amazing views @4 star Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue is the ultimate oceanfront garden island oasis. Perfectly situated between Lihue & Kapaa. Step into paradise and enjoy luxury amenities such as 4 pools, onsite restaurants, live music lounge, and spa. Great for singles couples anniversary engagement families children and all ages! I would take a beach ball to play volleyball with instead of the volleyball that they use. It's so much funner! Great prices we went thru a 3Rd party I do feel the parking fee should be half the price they charge. We enjoyed them having wrist band bracelets to get in and out of the room!

Mellissa D.

Yelp
For all intents and purposes (a place to lay my head & sleep), my stay at Outrigger was favorable. I arrived 5ish hours before check-in. They allowed us to enjoy the amenities. They gave us beach towels and held our luggage until our room was ready. Once the room was ready, they called me and let me know. When we arrived to the room, the door lock was not operating well. We had to call maintenance. They never repaired the door lock to working order. The carpets were stained in multiple places. The furniture looked like it was all from different yard sales because it didn't match. The carpet felt as if there was no padding. The mattress were worn out, as were the pillows. Water pressure in my room was really weak..... and it never really ever got warmer! The pools and the grounds were beautifully manicured. Breakfast was buffet style and was the same exact thing each day. It was definitely NOT worth $35/person! My favorite part was most definitely walking the beach... but couldn't do much of that (not enough beach,) and the fireworks shows on Friday nights! Outrigger IS undergoing a face lift so I hope it's better for future patrons, as I likely won't be back any time soon.

Yelp
We booked a 4 night stay, king bed with partial ocean view and loved our experience here, not having run into any issues other guests might have seen. Our room was comfortable, large for two, thoroughly clean and had a gorgeous view. The pool area was fine, we managed at least 1 swim and had drinks at the outdoor bar. Staff was fun to talk to, and had good customer service. Although it wasn't spectacular, it was still very enjoyable and affordable. The most positive thing to note is location, because it's almost the midpoint of accessing north shore or south shore, and minutes away from the airport, which is why we picked outrigger.

Elaine K.

Yelp
We stayed here for a week. It was a rice place with 2 hot tubs, lots of swimming pools. It is not heated so we were freezing most of the time in the regular pools. My daughter still roughed it out. Our room was nice and very comfortable. It was cleaned daily and was very nice.Every morning my daughter and I would cuddle on the sofa chairs and watch the sunrise and there's coffee in the room so it made out mornings very sweet and special. It's a good location for traveling north and south. To get to the canyons on the other side it's an hour, south Poipu for sunsets it's 30 minutes, it was about an hour to the most northern part. There's a lot of good food and things to do in Lihue. The beach front is nice. We watched the stars at night there. There is a public beach to the left of the ocean front that is private. It's pretty nice but it's public so you never know what you'll see. The prices are high in the gift shop, the restaurant, the lounge (nightly live music) service was so-so, parking is $30 a day. If you want a roll out bed it's an extra charge as well but that's pretty standard here in Hawaii. Check out is 11am we didn't get our late check out this time. The Starbucks is nice and great customer service. All in all we had a nice stay and were very comfortable.

Yelp
We stayed one night on August 3rd on our way home to California, and my daughter went in the pool by the beach, which looked super murky, but my daughter was excited because it had a slide. The pool is split. One side has what looks like sand, and the other side has the slide. She went to the pool briefly on Saturday when we checked in and again on Sunday morning before checking out. When she showered and changed, we noticed that she was covered in bumps on both calves. She was miserable the whole flight home on Sunday and didn't sleep 2 nights. I took her to the pediatrician this am, and she told us that they are water bug bites. She is the only one who has them because she is the only one who went in that pool. So disgusted! Will never stay at that hotel again.

Onnie E.

Yelp
The service at this place is the worst. I would not stay here. From the restaurant staff to the check in is awful. Stay at the Sheraton coconut and thank me later. Since Outrigger took over the place has went to crap. Food and drinks are way over priced and the staff doesn't respect the guests.

Amber G.

Yelp
Some of the reviews here are awful. So I'll say this..... this hotel is about what you are looking for. I am in Hawaii A-LOT, so I am down for a quiet low key location. I actually love it. This hotel is quiet. Not a lot going on. Not usually a ton of people- which to me is a perk- to you it might suck lol. The pool is just beautiful. Make shift waterfalls everywhere. Towel rental station. A outside bar where you can order drinks and food. A kiddie pool with a big slide. Now as for a beach....... There really isn't one. There is access to the water and definitely beach enough to lay out and enjoy the sun. But the area is rocky and the water is usually pretty rough. Too rough to get in, so you won't be swimming in the ocean here. The hotel offers yoga classes in the morning which is cool. The food, in my opinion is amazing. I've loved everything I have had here. My friend who is a local does not like their food, but she is the only person I've met that didn't. The rice bowl is my favorite. The drinks are perfection. The rooms are comfortable and you have access to a patio/lanai which is awesome. Some Hawaii resorts don't have patio access from your room. The staff is amazing Another negative for some people, there is absolutely nothing in or around the hotel. The hotel does have a spa (which I've never used) a gym (which is kind of lame) and a Starbucks/giftshop. Other than the 2 restaurants inside of the hotel you are not near any other dining establishments or shopping centers. You would have to have a car and drive to find that stuff.

Yelp
This is a great hotel experience. Genius idea to have a wrist band hotel key card. Convenient location, not too far from the airport and most things near Wailua, and not too far from Koloa. However maybe a trek from Hanalei. Overall, a beautiful view, convenient pools, laundry room (pls bring credit card, coins, n your own detergent+fabric softener). The staff are very friendly and helpful. For parking, they need to make it easier for hotel key card to tap and go. Overall amazing experience, definitely recommend.

Yelp
Outrigger has plenty of resorts across the islands, and this is one of their newly acquired resorts. According to some other people we spoke to, prior to the acquisition, this resort started to look a little dumpy. To be fair, I didn't see much change, but I still really liked the resort. The acquisition had just happened maybe a month before we got there, so there's progress to be made still! We booked our room through VRBO, so we were treated a little differently than a traditional hotel guest. We were given a different wristband (which is what you need to enter your room, kinda like a music festival). Being a VRBO guest and not a hotel guest means you don't have access to beach towels, and the free lei making class, among other things that I personally didn't find super important. We stayed in room 2416, and I loved the view from that room. We had a direct view of the pool/beach from there, which was so nice to wake up to every morning! On Friday, they had hula dancing classes by the pool along with some performers. There's two restaurants onsite and an unofficial Starbucks for your coffee needs. They also have a gym and hair salon (although hours looked limited). You do have to pay for parking, which was $30/day, but a lot of Hawaii in general charges for parking, so it's part of your budget! Overall, a decently priced hotel located extremely close to the airport!

Yelp
After deciding to spend the last 3 days of our trip here I wish we never had. I don't normally write about businesses like this because I also work in customer service and know how hard it is to please everyone. But after the many attempts to talk to a manager about my stay and the unacceptable circumstances I have to resort to yelp to spread the word. First- the photos make it look like something it's for sure not. The pools are quite dirty. The pool seating is slim to none and you'd be lucky to get a chair that wasn't broken. The drinks are 20$ a pop before tip and pool staff are quite rude. Second- the rooms all need a facelift. The carpets had stains. The air vents were dusty and moldy. The walls and surfaces were filthy to the naked eye. Not to mention I found two COCKROACHES . One in which was my bed. This is why I initially wanted to write this review. With no help with the staff about this problem and even after emailing constantly for over a month no help was given. I spent 400$ a night for 3 nights for this? It was super disappointing and quite gross. Do not recommend this area.

Dylan Keith W.

Yelp
The hotel lobby was nice, you can tell money was spent on the pool and hot tubs, and the staff were fine. However, pretty much everything else was a miss. Our room was super dated and pretty busted up. Peeling wallpaper, a broken shower that wouldn't stop leaking, old and worn furniture. The wristbands we were given as room keys/hotel parking keys never worked on the parking gate so we constantly had to be buzzed in and out. We wanted to check out the pool but there were discarded drink cups floating in the pool and overall the pool didn't look very clean. The presentation is great with the rocks and foliage and waterfall, but other hotel guests kind of ruin it with their disregard for cleanliness. It's a beachfront property with a great view, but you can't really go to the beach itself to relax because it's all rocky and not conducive to things like sun bathing. Some fees were waived for us due to kamaaina discount but for regular guests staying here I'd be bummed paying all the resort and parking fees for this quality.

Kahea U.

Yelp
If you are on a budget and have gave kids THIS IS THE HOTEL!! The kiddy pool is right next to the bar. If you have a room that is pool side/ocean view and you child is old enough to swim on his/her own you have the perfect view and can chill on your balcony born and raised Maui and I highly recommend this hotel!

Yelp
Never stay at an Outrigger property. They do not have a customer service department. I stayed for 3 nights at the end of March for a birthday celebration. I booked the reservation online and was charged for the stay well before we visited the property. As Hawaii residents get a discount, I realized I did not receive the discount. I decided to rectify that at check in but the front desk claimed they were not able to change the reservation. In the interest of time I said I would take it up with Outrigger Corporate. To my surprise no such thing. Supposedly a complaint must be with the property. I sent a detailed email with my concerns with never a response. I'm a Hilton Honors member and now so sad I did not stay at Hilton. They would never have treated me this way NEVER STAY AT AN OUTRIGGER PROPERTY

Jessica V.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay. The grounds are beautiful and my boys loved the waterslide and volleyball section. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Saddie at the front desk gave us excellent tips for local places to visit that exceeded our expectations. Our room had a view of the mountains and gardens. House keeping cleaned the room every day which I appreciated since a lot of hotels don't do that anymore after Covid. We will definitely be back!

Cy G.

Yelp
As a pilot I am traveling all around the would. By far most rude and unprofessional receptionists I have ever seen! Also the hotel is old and laundry room is stink!

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Not the service I expected from Outrigger, having stayed with them in Honolulu and definitely not a 4 star resort. To begin with the booking was a reserve now, pay when you arrive. The hotel charged me almost $400 right away and it took over a week to get the money back. Front desk staff is sour and some of the most unfriendly customer service I've seen at a hotel. We found out upon arrival that in addition to the daily resort fee there is also a $29 per day parking fee which is absolutely ridiculous. The resort itself was beautiful, but there were no free activities during our stay as advertised, the waterslide was off most of the time, the pool areas didn't have any music, the towel station was closed all week and the staff was SO unfriendly. Our room was "remodeled." It was really patchwork, because it was visibly run down. Our refrigerator did not cool anything and our refrigerated items went bad. Our beds were small and uncomfortable. We had no housekeeping until I asked for it, and the front desk seemed like I was inconveniencing them by asking for fresh towels and coffee packets. Eating at Naupaka Terrace gave my husband a bad case of food poisoning and was sick the entire last day of our trip in Kauai and since we had to check out at 11, he had to sit in the car until it was time to go to the airport at 7:00 p.m. The restaurant is deceiving - looks very nice with the perception they will take care of you. Host is welcoming and nice, but the servers take your order, give you your food and walk away, never to return. We had to fetch our own condiments, napkins and silverware. Hotel manager has no interest in getting back to me and neither does anyone at the Outrigger corporate office.

Nathanial D.

Yelp
Caution: Hidden Fees Alert! Despite being assured by the hotel front desk that the only additional charge beyond our reservation was the $35+tax per night resort fee, we were shocked to discover nearly $150 in unexpected charges the following day. We were initially informed that both valet and self-parking were covered in our reservation, only to be told later that an additional $29+tax per night was required for parking on top of the resort fee. This unauthorized doubling of charges is unacceptable, especially after being assured otherwise. This resort is notorious for its hidden fees, evident from numerous similar complaints that have been blatantly disregarded by the management. It's clear they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and seek accommodations elsewhere to avoid falling victim to their deceptive practices.

Joanna F.

Yelp
The two stars go toward location, morning yoga classes, and friendly house keeping staff. Low score due to run down rooms, extremely uncomfortable beds (zero support), grossly underpoured drinks for the outrageous prices (maybe two ounce wine pours?), filthy pool restroom, and this place is really lacking in hospitality/customer service. This place needs a LOT of work. Very disappointing, would not recommend and will not stay here again.

Tes M.

Yelp
The Kauai Beach Resort is a beautiful property with so many great amenities, but it's a resort that is completely in touch with its local community. They host pickleball tournaments at the entryway tennis courts, my daughter just had her beautiful hula Hoike (performance) in the ballroom, and the view you get when you walk back to the pool is one of the many reasons we love to staycation here. They always seem to honor a resident discount, but most importantly, this year they donated to the Kapaa High School class reunion which helped pay off hundreds of dollars in student lunch debt. They did not have any reason to do this other than they care about their community! Please consider supporting local businesses that care, like this one!

Trang W.

Yelp
Unfortunately, we stayed here twice, at beginning of our trip then returned after checking out from another resort. We didn't want the trouble of rebooking elsewhere. The first stay, the hot water hardly worked once changed to shower head. Room is very outdated. Why isn't there a wine key in a room at a resort? When asking for one from the front desk, we were sent to the restaurant. Restaurant said they will ope for us, but $25 cork fee. As I walked down the hall, you can tell that they are spending a minimum keeping the place functioning. Covers to some wires had came lose sitting on the floor. Windows are dirty. Foods were expensive and not edible. The second stay after checking out from another resort. We were put in a room with very wet floor. Front desk offered to send someone with a fan, with I declined and demanded to be moved to another room. The room was much better and seemed somewhat more updated with paint and not so beat up furniture. Hot water actually worked when using shower head. I think it would be safe to not stay at any of of the Outrigger Resort.

Yelp
Good pricing amazing place it is on the beach it has a water slide and much more we got a upgrade for free we just absolutely love it

Jeromy C.

Yelp
The pool is really great, but the place needs some love. I heard that Southwest Airlines is looking for a new hotel, which might leave them hanging in the lurch. Also, this place was once famous for their amazing drag show and a live performance of South Pacific but apparently they no longer do.

Zack L.

Yelp
Overall great resort. Only was there for the night but such a prime location yet feels secluded. We throughly enjoyed it.

Claire P.

Yelp
Stayed here on NYE. View from the pool/ocean view room is beautiful. We relaxed on pool side and beach. Enjoyed walking on the beachside and discovering the interesting sea creature on the reef. Location is close to airport and 1 hr to Waimea and 1 hr to Na Pali. Con: At time of check-in, the receptionist did not explain the $10 per card towel policy. We were charged $20 because we did not turn in the towel card. The receptionist the following morning was rude when explaining what the process was.

Heather P.

Yelp
I'm writing this review bc I want everyone to know exactly what they are getting in the booking. We reserved a room as a quick layover before going to the airport. We had a late flight and needed a place to hang out and shower before take off. It was perfect for our needs on our last day of our Hawaiian trip. I was really unsure of the booking bc of the mixed reviews I read. This hotel was purchased by Outrigger last year and I believe they did a nice face lift, but like most face lifts you can still see signs of aging. First, the hotel grounds are really pretty. The lobby is inviting and the pools are really fun. It feels like you're in a nice lagoon. They do need to spend more money on seating and umbrellas. There really isn't a reason there isn't more seating bc that is a really cheap fix to make everyone happy! Also, the towel exchange is a little lame bc you get one towel per person (no more than that!). The restaurants are good. I suggest just getting the apps even if you go to the nicer main restaurant. Portions are big and splittable. I found the staff to be really nice, we even were able to check in a couple hours earlier. The beach access is limited to just a nice stroll along it. I wouldn't recommend swimming or snorkeling here. Now for the rooms. They are about a motel 6 standard. Laminate floors and this is apart of the facelift (perhaps the neck) that you can really tell where the work was done. It looked like they took the spray gun and painted before a deep cleaning. Again, it wasn't dirty, but it didn't feel lux. I didn't sleep on the bed but sat on it and the mattress was cheap for sure. If I were in my 20s and on a budget I would love this hotel bc it's located between the north and south for easy travel (factor in parking bc it's not free). If I were a couple on a budget and really wanted a romantic vacation to Hawaii, I would be happy. I wouldn't recommend this for families bc there are plenty of air bnbs for the same price with more room. If you are used to nice hotels and like quiet luxury, this place is not for you! You will be disappointed, ad the pictures online make it appear much more high end than it actually is. However, it was perfect for our needs, and I'm glad we booked it. We really needed a nice place to hang out before heading to the airport and it was such a smart thing to do! I would not be happy if this is where I was spending longer than two days, though. Again, it really depends what your expectations are and how well you can manage them!

Yelp
NOT a beach resort. Can't swim because of rocks Signs say don't take chairs to the beach so nowhere to sit on beach. No beach attendants. Beach shower broken. 350 rooms and about 2 doz pool chaises so nowhere to sit around pools. Pools unheated. Pool bathroom has 1 stall. Other stall demolished. Almost NO shade or umbrellas around pools. Overpriced mediocre food. Few vegetarian options. First Fl room large with sliding door to patio. Slider didn't close right. 3 shutters slid for privacy but didn't work right. Finally screws, hardware fell out of the track onto the floor. No screen on door. Couldn't open the slider or chickens came in the room. Couldn't sit on patio because patio full of chickens. Laundry soap dispenser broken so have to buy detergent at the front desk. QRC in room about hotel hours, services not very comprehensive. As tourists move out workers move in rehabbing rooms. Drilling, banging, painting. Don't even think about sleeping past 5am. Doors slamming and roosters crowing will keep you awake. I'll stop. Things break by the hour but you get the idea.

Yelp
We've stayed here twice now because of a Hawaii resident discount. I love that it's right in the middle of the island so you can go up to Hanalei or down to Po'ipu. The beach here though isn't swimable, too rough. It also seems to be a spot where tons of ocean rubbish flows in. I've wanted to create a much needed beach clean up, but haven't organized one with the hotel yet. I like the rooms a lot. Having a Starbucks in the hotel retail shop is awesome too. I wish the pool had a white painted bottom that looked clean and blue, not sure why it's gray. That would add a lot. The restaurants are also great. Shutters has more bar food that's fried though, not my style we just love the waitress! Her name is Jazz. The nicer restaurant was fabulous, I think it's called Naupaka maybe... I forget. Hotel views are nice. Outrigger bought it last August but it still needs a lot of upgrades. You can tell it has potential. With a little more overseeing to detail it is a diamond in the rough. It hasn't appeared to have a General Mgr walking around checking on how guest are doing or service or feedback. Maybe they are hiring someone. The pool side grill near the beach is ok. Food is great but the ladies working there just aren't happy and don't seem to want to be there. I'm giving it a 4 because I think it could get there within the year. We will probably come back again to see

Brenden O.

Yelp
Misleading is a good way to put this resort. Extra 460 dollars in fees upon arrival. (Parking and resort fee that was supposedly included in the initial itinerary/charges, however, that's not the case and you will be charged.) You couldn't pay me to go back to this resort or anything "OUTRIGGER" for that matter. Additionally, the restaurants were really bad. 60 dollar meal felt like an absolute scam. Not to mention, we thought we got a free breakfast only to find out that "food credit" wasn't on their end... another 50 dollars that they scammed me out of. Hope they go out of business with their deceiving ways. Many others complain of the same thing.

Anastasia T.

Yelp
The pictures of the resort are breathtaking and promise a vacation in paradise, but they are misleading. Pool was frigid. Food was abysmal. Service was non existent. A\C broke several times. Bartenders were too busy talking to each other to take an order. Couldn't wait to check out and go home. Save your money or spend a bit more and stay somewhere better. Terrible experience.

Lois M.

Yelp
If it weren't for the front service clerk Lori, who helps people with taxis they would have gotten a 5 star review. What a terrible human being you are and an embarrassment to the organization. What a great way to represent the face of Outrigger. You were rude, condescending and all while I was thinking what an awesome trip we had, on the very last day as we were leaving you ruined that experience for us! Mahalo!

Yelp
Service was great, and Denis was the best Valet. He had amazing insight on where to eat, and had amazing stories. Desk service was great and the facility was always clean.

Yelp
I'm putting my review here since this resort had just changed the name from Kauai Beach Resort to Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort. We stayed here Sept 2023. Our stay here started out bad. When my friend and I arrived after a 7 hour flight they had no reservation for us. We booked this trip in March for Sept. We had to wait 1.5 hours for them to straighten out the problem. We were to have a garden or mountain view and ended up overlooking the dirt where deliveries are received. The last morning we were there we were sitting out on our balcony and we had to go inside since there was a rancid smell coming from the delivery area where there was a large wet area. Yes, it does back up to the ocean but you can't swim or even wade in the ocean since it is rocky. You have a very small area that you can walk along the shore. When we were checking out they presented us with a bill for our total stay saying that we still owed them. We had to again explain it was already paid for in March. So for another hour we had to wait to get things straighten out. When we mentioned the rancid smell to the front desk person, she just shrugged her shoulders and smiled! Like others mentioned we were then presented with a bill for $400 for resort fees and parking. The front desk people were not friendly or very helpful. You can check out more reviews listed under Kauai Beach Resort.

Yelp
I just had the most AMAZING massage with my significant other. Sammy, the receptionist was so very helpful and did everything she could to make our experience better. My husband and I are still debating on who the better masseuse was they were that good. I had the beautiful Amelia and my husband had the gorgeous Alicia. I definitely recommend coming here if you want to have a calm relaxing time whether it is with someone or yourself. Thank you ladies!!

Yelp
Lost our already paid for reservation. Gave us a room overlooking their garbage area. Tried to charge us again when checking out. Front desk staff not user friendly!!!

Yelp
Beautiful grounds, old time feel to hotel. No room service. Hefty Resort fees. Unswimmable beach but Beautiful pools. Homeless staying at beach bathroom next door. You have to drive to any shopping or non-hotel restaurants. They seem to be short staffed like everywhere these days, making for SLOW and somewhat uninformed service. My mother booked an inter-island 4 day family staycation with 2 rooms across from each other requested when booked as she and my sister are physically challenged using canes, and I can assist them. She was told at check in by the front desk clerk, "You can ask but that doesn't mean you're going to get it." OK. So they set her in 1 building and me in another. When we asked for wheelchair to room, they gave it to me to push, no service offered, but again - short staffed. The room they gave me was next to the elevator and ice machine so I got very little sleep. The next day I went back and asked for another room, was given option across the resort from them in another noisy hall. So I opted to stay in the loud room with use of foam earplugs they gave me so I could stay near in case family needed me. Fabulous. Another night of very little sleep. Also you can hear airplanes taking off from Lihue Airport a few miles down the road. Third day they changed our rooms to across from each other, but now my Mom had the room next to ice machine and elevator, even though they were cleaning one right next to that but by now we were tired of hassling with them all. I finally got sleep, she did not. Fabulous. I used my rubber slippers the whole time in the rooms after feeling the greasy and stained carpets once. Gross. Food in restaurants is decent, average, nothing special. The service people themselves, other than front desk Mgmt x 2, were all friendly, hardworking folks. I would NOT stay here again, and wouldn't recommend it. Try closer to Kapaa for better swimming and shopping.

Yelp
a ok place but I don't recommend staying because they have way too many hidden fees. for 2 days the bill was $300! that is way too much money for 2 days
