It may come as a shock to you (shock # 1) but what is sold at overoll under the name "croissants" 🥐 are not actually croissants! They are baked pastries in the shape of croissants but they have absolutely nothing in common with croissants served in artisanal bakeries and cafes in Paris, Nice, Lyon, Strasbourg etc. A proper croissant is made with two or three types of flour so that it is crunchy and flaky at the same time. The main ingredient besides flour and filling in any croissant is butter - a lot of butter. This is why people in France 🇫🇷 are happy to pay typically 3 Euros for a proper butter croissant and 4.50 Euros for a proper croissant with filling ; they know that quality ingredients come at a price. The so called pistachio croissant at overoll tastes like soft bread. If butter 🧈 is used in the recipe it is very sparing. The filling of the "pistachio croissant" is not pistachio as per the admittance (menu) of overoll - it is made of other ingredients. Are you ready for shock # 2 ? Here it comes... ! Pistachio is not flourescent green in colour. Yes the colour is lovely but it is achieved exclusively by artificial coloring and oils. The only pistachio is found on top in the form of a sprinkling of 1.5 to at most 2 grams. The carrot cake is nice (a lot better than the so called croissant but also 1.10 Euros more expensive) but similar cakes are found in a thousand and one bakeries and cafes all over Athens. I took the time to browse the reviews. It is surprising that many (maybe even a majority) of 5 star reviews are written by profiles who have distinct Arabic, Turkish and Israeli names (!). There seem to be also as many Polish sounding names as there are Greek names which is very strange. I think many reviews are paid and the statistically impossible dominance of profiles with a name and surname from the Levant is due to confusion on behalf of the authors on which geographical zone the reviews were meant for.

The best bakery in Athens. Went there 3 times in our 5 days stay. The food is simply amazing and the almond croissant is the best almond croissant that i have ever had. And its not expensive! Highly recommend to visit this place at least once while you stay in Athens.

I now have high standards for croissant pistacchio since i tried theirs.. IT IS SO GOOD!!!!!! The best Pistacchio i have ever eaten in my whole existence!!! I'm not exaggerating, i will literally go back to Athens just to have their croissants again!

Overoll catches your eye as if it's a hip bakery in New York City. With an open wall and an array of croissants, it's worth a visit. Service is excellent and despite a line, your order comes out quickly. My single shot latte was great and the pistachio croissant was warm and full of flavor.

The best place for an early breakfast and pastry!! We came here all 3 days that we were in Athens. The croquette madame may be one of the best tasting breakfast parties I've ever had... Very kind and friendly staff as well!

We have been there for the croissants but have been surprised how awesome the coffee is! Great flat white 😍. And the croissants taste (and look) very good aswell!

Their croissants are great! Was recommended the pistachio one and the filling tastes real pistachio. Was a bit too sweet for me but definitely a good one. Tried their butter croissant as well and really liked it. Plain but classic. Staff is friendly and the spot is cute.
