Fancy Ice Is Completely Frivolous and Absolutely Perfect

"A cocktail venue perched on the 64th floor of a Financial District high-rise that uses custom imprints on its large ice cubes; the bar director describes the simple technique—pressing a room-temperature copper or brass stamp into the cube so the metal slightly melts the surface—emphasizing the aesthetic, branded flourish over any functional benefit." - Rachel Sugar

Saga: NYC Restaurant Review

"An Art Deco–style, ten‑seat cocktail bar that is separate from the main dining room but reachable by elevator or a short flight of stairs, with a balcony and a notably excellent martini‑sipping view of the city." - Adam Platt

We had reservations at 6pm for our anniversary. The host (gentleman) sat us directly in the sun. We asked if we could sit in one of the shaded tables because my husband is on meds that make him sensitive to the sun & I get migraines from excessive sun. He said all of the tables were already taken although they were empty. Our server told us we could sit anywhere we wanted so we moved into the table the host claimed was taken. The cocktails were good but very slow to come out. My husband ordered a draft beer and was told they didn't have any drafts. He ordered a different beer that they brought out in a can with no glass. They told him they were out of mugs. I would expect a place this fancy (and not cheap) to find or clean some glasses vs serving beer in a can. We didn't try any food. Service was good in the beginning but once they got busy we never saw our server again. I went to the bathroom and grabbed her for another drink. She brought the check with the drink which I guess was a hint our time was up? The atmosphere is great but they could have done much better. We paid for parking but the gate was open so another waste of $5.

I came here for a birthday dinner on the patio, and it was absolutely beautiful. This was my first visit, and I loved every minute of it. Our waiter, Penelope, was amazing, so patient and attentive, and she even recommended a great mocktail for me. The manager was wonderful as well, turning on the outdoor heater, checking in on us, and even bringing items out personally. Service was quick, and the food and drinks were excellent. For the view and the overall aesthetic, I found the prices very reasonable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Just met an in-town guest for drinks. It's a great place for meet-ups with friends and family. The staff was friendly and food and drinks were delish. We had the empenadas and a salad with grilled chicken. Yum! $$ Worth it. Make a reservation

The food was great, especially the red snapper. The bartender (Curtis or Carlos) did his thing with the drinks. Our waitress, Sonica was amazing. This was my second time experiencing service from her so I was delighted when I saw I was seated in her section again even without request. She is so personable all while maintaining professionalism and she is a waitress that knows her menu and that is rare to find these days.

Beautiful establishment, perfect for date night, hanging out with your people or just a nice get away. The drinks was just ok and either the waitress or the bartender was taking a while before drinks came back. The food was just ok to me however that pizza🔥🔥🔥. The best part of the restaurant is the view and decor along with the host. My table party kept growing because we was celebrating my birthday and more couples came up however the host was extremely attentive and patient. I will return and recommend, however i will be there just to relax and enjoy the views with a straight drink on the rocks, that way no one can mess it up of the drinks came be too light

I’ve been having Overstory saved to my places to check out since it opened up & have tried to make reservations before but it has always been booked out. When deciding what to do for my birthday this was the first place that came to mind & there was availability! The rooftop restaurant is beautiful, panoramic view, with beautiful furniture, lighting & decor. We had dinner inside then lounged outside by the water the rest of the evening. It was four of us, I had the fried red snapper which was okay, both my sisters got the Asado which they enjoyed. My mom ordered a short rib meal that was more like pulled beef. Two of us had the Jollof rice with our meal and we both agreed it lacked flavor. Two of them ordered a drink called the Roselle which they both thought was really good. My family ordered a cheesecake for me but it unfortunately never came after waiting for more than 15 mins. Our reservation was at 7pm & our waiter informed us around 7:50 pm that she was going to close out our tab because she had a phone call with her insurance company at 8pm so I’m not sure if her having to leave the floor had anything to do with the cheesecake never coming out. We finally just gave up on waiting and went outside to take pictures and enjoy the rooftop outside space. The restaurant space is beautiful and the inside/outside setting is a really nice place to enjoy without having to go into the city but the food needs some improvement. The taste doesn’t match the price unfortunately. I would come back for a date night but probably go somewhere else for dinner then come here to enjoy the outside rooftop space.

The atmosphere and scenery were outstanding, and the drinks were great as well. I wish there were more food options or larger portions but this place has a lot of potential. If they can match the menu to the aesthetic they’d be golden. Great place for a date or somewhere classy to spend time with friends/coworkers.

Google
The atmosphere is amazing! I had the asado that came with potatoes. The steak was really good but paired with very average potatoes. The menu is very small. The service was a bit of wait between drinks and food. And if you want a table that is higher to eat comfortably I would suggest to eat inside because you will have to hold your plate up. There was also a fire pit which was pretty cool. I would definitely recommend reserving a head of time and bringing a sweater of course; it gets very windy.

Yelp
My wife sent me an IG video of Overstory, and quickly asked if I could book it for her birthday. Of course I couldn't resist this gorgeous restaurant! When we arrived there was valet out front and we love that when we all know how parking goes. We had reservations so when we arrived we were swept away to a comfortable booth. We visited on a Thursday and we nearly had the place to ourselves! We were near the bar and our waitress for the evening was lovely. The rooftop restaurant features panoramic views, with beautiful furniture, lighting & decor. Unfortunately it was raining the day that we went, so we didn't get to experience the terrace. However, it looked amazing from the windows so I can imagine. We ordered beef tostadas, Ceasar salad with shrimp, and ceviche with mussels. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol so I ordered a tropical mocktail. My wife ordered the old fashioned and she enjoyed it. The food was enjoyable; so I'll have to hike back to Duluth and hope the weather cooperates for the views next time.

Yelp
What a fabulous place! My girlfriends and I wanted to enjoy a night out and opted for Overstory after my bestie heard raving reviews. None of us live in (or near!) Duluth but we thought it worth the trip. Spoiler Alert: It totally was. When we arrived there was valet out front and we love that when we all know how parking goes. We had reservations so when we arrived we were swept away to a table near the terrace. We visited on a Friday before it got too late and the place was buzzing! We were seated steps away from the terrace at a fantastic table and our waitress for the evening was phenomenal. We all started off with cocktails and I went with the Conquistador which is Pisco, passion fruit, and ancho pepper lime. FIRE. For appetizers we opted for the empanadas, the tostada and the yuca. They were alllll delicious! Especially the tostadas. It took a bit to get the cocktails (we got our apps first), but it was super busy and we were chatting through it anyways, lol. For dinner I went with the fried snapper over plantain mash and it did not disappoint. It didn't blow me away like crazyyy (I could have used more *kick*) - but believe me, it was yummy. Seriously a delicious experience from cocktails to entrees. I think the only part of the experience that surprised me here was that they said we couldn't take food outside or order from there. But when we went on the terrace, we saw menus on the tables and empty plates. Confusing. It didn't feel like they were lying to us, I just didn't understand how they let other folks slip outside with their plates lol. We did take our cocktails outside and it was the perfect vibe. The views aren't life-changing but it was a fabulous place to spend some time no matter what! I wish it was closer to me but I can't wait to make some time to return!

Yelp
What a beautiful place , i loved finally coming to check this gem out. Enjoyed the view and drinks with my husband stopped by in time to watch the sunset from a fun afternoon bike ride. I look forward to coming back to try out the food !

Yelp
Worth the drive to Duluth! This was freaking amazing and awesome! Pics and videos do not do it justice you have to see for yourself! Any negative review is flawed! Arrived for my self date Black Friday edition and was met with valet then courteous lady at front desk and then off to the 9th floor! Hector Manager on duty ensured my experience was outstanding! The bartenders (mixologists) Nina took GREAT care of me along with Alicia and Curtis! All in all this is a very upscale vibe and experience! Summed up: Bravo Zulu! You have a regular in me!

Yelp
I finally got the chance to catch up with a few friends. Overstory had a stylish atmosphere with great outdoor seating and ambiance. While it's not a high-rise rooftop with sweeping city views, the overall vibe more than makes up for it. We tried a few cocktails and food. They were good. The service was great, friendly and hard working staff.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this spot! It's rare to find a restaurant where everyone loves their meal and drinks. We ordered quite a bit. Our waitress let us know that they have a full bar however, sadly she didn't say that they don't have gin until after I tried to order 2 different drinks. No worries because the pornstar martini became the table favorite. We also enjoyed "Margarita's cousin Maria, "Roselle" and a vodka pineapple. For food we ordered the fried snapper with plantain mash, coconut chicken curry flatbread and Wag burger. My favorite was the snapper but everything was amazing. No complaints. The restaurant is beautiful. There was light music in the restaurant, pretty close to quiet but a party in the restrooms. The rooftop is perfect. Wouldn't change a thing about my experience.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful. I felt a little under dressed with jeans and a t-shirt. My first time trying the brunch I would definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. The staff was friendly we had multiple servers check in with us through out our meal. Some say it a little expensive but I think it's fairly priced. lol if it didn't have the view I would have to disagree

Yelp
It was such a drive for me but would I do it again. Yes! The setting was so chill, upscale and quiet. No loud music. You could really enjoy your environment with whom you are with. I sat by the bar seating so I had to get up and order. They were quick. No long lines. Very nice people. I only tried the asada and I actually loved the plate and how hot it came out. This place was so nice that if have social anxiety and don't want to be by yourself. You can come here. Look out the balcony , read a book and be relaxed.

Yelp
An OTP hidden gem. I enjoyed a girls' night with friends. We were able to get added to the waitlist and get a table without reservations, but with good weather, this place will be busier--so I suggest reservations. Overstory is located on the 9th floor of the Westin Hotel. There're parking decks directly across from the hotel with $5 parking. Indoor and outdoor options available for seating. The ambiance is nice. Very elegant and cozy, both inside and outside. I enjoyed a salad with shrimp and a tequila expresso martini. My friends enjoyed the margaritas and the tostadas and empanadas. A couple of drawbacks were the limited food options and it closed at midnight on a Saturday. Cute hangout, I will go back.

Yelp
Was taken here for a date night during the week on a Thursday. There is valet parking and a parking deck right across that makes for an easy walk upstairs to the rooftop. On first glance, the lighting is gorgeous and outside area with the fire pits is a true vibe! Outside of that, the actual decor is okay. We were immediately seated in a booth out looking the inside area which was great. Our server, although helpful took over 20/25 minutes to come and actually greet us. This was a problem mostly because it was very low traffic when we arrived, maybe 9/10 guests in the entire area indoor and outdoor. Nonetheless, she was very nice and happy to help us get an order in. The drinks we got were great and the small plates we tried were fun twists on classic dishes. Only problem, is it took so long for our server to get back and check on us (40+ minutes). After waving for her, we tried to order more food (our main entree's) and we were informed the kitchen just closed. Now why wouldn't the server come and give a heads up or check and see if we needed anything? Especially since there is no note on menu of kitchen closure times or other way to know + again, it was extremely slow/quiet. Irregardless of the lack luster service, the drinks were strong and delicious. I maybe would come back to get direct bar service but I think some improvements to service would do wonders to justify the price/ambiance. Drinks: 1. Conquistador 10/10: the ancho was smoky versus spicy which was amazing; plus passion fruit is always a win 2. Who Invited Becky 9/10: like a refreshing lemonade! Simple and tasty 3. Inca Trail 8/10: very strong; tasty spice aroma 4. Margaritas Cousin Maria 8/10: love the hint of turmeric Food: * Octopus Anticuchero 9/10: tender octopus and crispy potatoes! A must get from the small plates * Causa Limena 9/10: this dish truly shocked me! Not enough chicken salad for the ratio of it to the potato style ball served with it but seasoned beautifully All in all, maybe I will come back to catch a sunset!

Yelp
The views don't lie. this is definitely a place for more so drinks than food. Overstory Rooftop definitely delivers on ambiance and vibes. The energy was just right and the views were nice. I had the Le Jardin cocktail, and let me tell you, it was so tasty. Light, refreshing, and packed a surprising punch. One drink had me feeling it! That said, the food experience was a little disappointing. Out of the five items listed on the menu, of course the one I actually wanted, the snapper, they were "out of". Which I still don't fully understand. How are you out of something when the menu is already so limited? Same situation with the mocktails. Only three options listed, and the one my partner wanted wasn't available either. It just didn't make sense, especially at a place that presents itself as a high end establishment. chef Ramsey would be disappointed. As far as the food we did have, I ended up with the asada and honestly, it was pretty tasty. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. My partner had the wagyu burger, and it was just a burger. No standout sauces or seasoning. Definitely not wagyu level wow. We probably rate it a 3 out of 5. Service was okay. Nothing memorable. We had noted that we were celebrating an anniversary when we booked, but it wasn't acknowledged at all. Not sure if that was missed or if they just don't do anything special. In that case, maybe don't ask when booking the reservations. All in all, I'd go back, but strictly for the drinks and the view. If you're looking for a gorgeous rooftop with a decent cocktail menu and chill atmosphere, Overstory is worth the stop. Just maybe grab dinner somewhere else first.

Yelp
The Christmas holiday spirit greeted me the moment I stepped into the lobby--it was beautifully decorated and instantly put me in a festive mood. The rooftop was an incredible setting for my friend's birthday celebration, with decor that was just as stunning as the lobby. Since it was late and I wasn't too hungry, I ordered from the Sharables menu. The yuca paired with a glass of rosé was the perfect choice--light yet satisfying. Douglas, our server, was fantastic and shared some great tips about the spot. Parking was convenient with two nearby garages offering self-parking for just $5, or the option to valet. I chose self-parking since it was an easy walk across the street. I can't wait to return, especially on a warm night to fully enjoy the rooftop vibe. The drive from the Atlanta Hapeville area was definitely worth it!

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening and it was a nice crowd, but not too crowded. Went straight to the bar & was waiting for a while before I even got greeted or welcomed with a menu .. I literally had to ask for service (and again, at this time there was no crowd at the bar & everyone else there was already sitting around with their drinks so it looked like they had already been serviced) When I did get service from Treasure, she was great. Very friendly, recommended some items on the menu. I ordered an "amazing sour" & the burger w/ fries. Everything was good but I will say the burger was a bit flavorless and dry. They barely put sauce on it & I asked to remove the lettuce & they still put lettuce on it - other than this .. I still enjoyed it.

Yelp
Beautiful day today, figuratively speaking not literally lol, it's my birthday! When you get my age, birthdays are not about celebration anymore, it is more about reflection. I take time to sit down and assess what I'm currently doing in life and make sure it aligns with my overall goals. So with that being said I took myself to the Overstory rooftop to eat and reflect on life! The ambiance of this rooftop is unbelievable, it is by far its best feature. The decor, the views, everything about the hotel screams elegance. So anyone that loves to take pics for the gram would have a field day in here! You have the option of sitting indoors where they have televisions and you can catch the playoffs. They also have outdoor seating which, if the weather permits, I would recommend. The service was great, the hostess had me at a table in a very unfavorable spot when I got there. I asked to be reseated and she made something happen for me so I'm grateful for that. Despite only being there for a few months my server Sonica was very knowledgeable, she made great suggestions for food and it was an overall pleasant experience. She even gave me a card for my birthday! (Even though a slice of cake was what I wanted lol). Now for the food, I'll be honest the meal was underwhelming. I'm not sure if it is because I had higher expectations or because it was actually mediocre. For the record I'm in no way saying that the food was bad, just wasn't as good as I hoped. I had the pabellon empanadas as an app, this was the best thing I had came with an amazing dipping sauce. For the entree I went with the Asado, which is a skirt steak, chimichurri, and roasted potatoes. Good meal definitely filled me up! The dessert menu absolutely needs an upgrade, I had churros with three different dipping sauces, it was my birthday and churros are the last thing on my mind. They didn't even have a scoop of ice cream available, we have to do better. Overall I had a great experience at the hotel and the restaurant. I want to go back for brunch and sit outside enjoying the view.

Yelp
I haven't been here since they've opened so I was hoping that my experience would be better. It was! Parking was the same, the valet gentlemen was amazing. Hotel staff were also very pleasant. Went up to the rooftop for a business meeting and everything was a perfect setting to drink, have fun, and get down to business! Will definitely come back now that we've established we are only getting drinks and small plates! lol

Yelp
I had been wanting to go here for a little, as it was just opened 4 months ago. I will say it is such a vibe. The food and ambience were great, but the service was terrible. It is located at the top of the Westin Hotel, which is where we stayed a night at. I loved the hotel, it's so new you can tell, it is beautiful! Back to the Rooftop, so there was a leak next to our seats and the staff just acted as if we didn't exist even though we had reservations. We ended up grabbing the manager and he assisted us. We sat for 20 min before that even happened. Once we got food and drinks, which came fast, our server disappeared so we had to grab the manager again. Although they were nice that part of the experience was horrible. If we go back we would ask to be seated outside, there are two sides and it seems the service was better out there.

Yelp
Went to Overstory for brunch while at the Westin Gwinnett for a staycation. I would recommend Overstory for drinks and small bites only. I was not pleased with the brunch foods we ordered. Service was great and the rooftop seating area was beautiful!

Yelp
The food was bland and everything took a long time to come out. They also upcharged some of our food items so check your receipt!!!! Do not get the seafood tower. I will post a picture of how horrible it looks. Also, my jacket was stolen right off of my chair so watch your belongings!!! The only thing nice about Overstory is the roof top.

Yelp
So I am giving this place some grace because they are brand new. I do think anything new in Duluth sorta needs an adjustment period. The actual Hotel and the restaurant is so pretty and aesthetic. If you want a view then uhhh maybe go to the city because you're just gonna get a view of parking lots and main roads but the ambiance of the actual restaurant is a nice little escape. Our service was decent. Our waitress wasn't particularly outstanding but she did check on us. The general manager would pay us a visit and really took feedback really well. I got the "who invited becky" cocktail and it was refreshing and delicious ! The steak felt like the most worh it on the menu and it was really good. The only problem was, the food would get so cold so fast because the plate was not heated. So my only real complaint would be that. If you actually want an experience make a reservation. If you just walk in and try to sit at the bar, your experience will not be the same!

C C.

Yelp
The ambiance here is amazing, but they still are a little rough around the edges in terms of customer service. I went on a day when they first opened, so there was almost no one there. Yet the staff kept telling me with 85%+ of their tables empty, that I essentially could only be seated out in the sun on the outside patio because they were fully reserved. Uh really? Then why was I here an entire hour and no one sat in any of those seats??? I ended up moving myself to a more reasonable location, and assured the staff that I was happy to move whenever the party that had reserved the table arrived. No one else came for those seats the entire time I sat out there. Also, my server was extremely lacking in knowledge about the wine list. She kept having to go and ask very basic questions about what was actually available in stock, or how sweet or dry each wine was. It really didn't make for a very smooth customer experience. Even though I went when this location was newer, I was already starting to notice staining, hair, etc. on their outside patio furniture. In the future, I'd like to see them do a more thorough job of keeping the outdoor space cleaner.

Yelp
Horrible service!! Restaurant is beautiful however, as a first time guest last night the service was unacceptable. I can definitely see why your ratings on all platforms are low because of service. My husband and I arrived late last night for a nightcap and approached the bar. Firstly, the counter was not clean. The bartender was standing there unprofessionally shoving fries in her mouth, barely gave us eye contact, put down the menus with no offer to clean the area and then proceeded to ignore us for 10 min. She literally made the drinks with my minimal interaction the entire time we sat there. Second, my husband wanted another drink before closure as it was nearing 12am. He attempted to flag down another bartender and clearly was being ignored. He asked her if she was a bartender to which she rudely replied "Yeah but I'm cleaning up what do you need?" Wow! I in made sure to look at her badge to report her ass!!! Please address (Nina) for her disgusting attitude and ensure shes aware she cost you a high dollar customer with lots of connections. It's essential to be aware of how you treat people because you never know who the F*** you mishandling. We paid our bill and left after that. No TIP was left and we always tip 20 percent of every bill because we understand the importance of waiters depending on that for the service they provide. Will NOT be back!

Yelp
I enjoyed a rooftop happy hour recently with my girlfriends . Fell in love with the serenity of the location , it was in a secluded area with free parking. ! The food: it was ok. portion sizes were decent. It wasn't as savory as I expected. Temperature and timing of the service was great. Definitely A+ on customer service. We had a large party and they handled it with grace. At the end of our night we sat by the fire and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend if your in the area

Yelp
I had a pleasant time at the Overstory (rooftop at the newly opened Westin)! The service is spectacular and the ambiance is gorgeous! It's very tropical and I can imagine they will be buzzing come summertime! They've only been open a week, but the dishes are super tasty! I got the chicken thighs and the yuca fries (seasoned well) and the rest of my party got the burger and the hot dog (both very good). I think they'll be known most for their cocktails, which are very unique! Overall, this is a great new venue in Duluth if you're looking for a date night or happy hour with the girls!

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit to Overstory! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for providing context and tips! We knew to put in the Westin for specific directions, and we knew exactly where to park. Once upstairs, we were greeted by a very gracious host and immediately seated on the outdoor rooftop. We had a choice of either inside or outside. It's important to note that we did not have a reservation. I attempted to make one via Opentable and was unsuccessful. That being said, we definitely lucked out. Visiting on a weekday evening may have contributed. The ambiance is absolutely stunning! There's not another venue like it in the area. We enjoyed drinks (Who Invited Becky and Blue Moon) and food (burger, empanadas, and steak) while we watched the sun set and enjoyed the scenery. The food was good. It's a pretty mixed menu with something for everyone. We'd definitely return for another date night!

Went for Sunday Brunch. The space is beautiful! Ambiance is nice. The food was good. Took a little while to be seated. Was allowed to make a 2pm reservation, however, their kitchen closes at 2:30 (that needs to be reconsidered). Our server was great, very kind and accommodating.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. We went for brunch around noon. Wasn't crowded at all. Drinks and food came out fairly quickly. Our waitress was friendly & professional. Hope to have nicer weather on my next visit

Yelp
Service was a bit slow but wasn't bad. One of my good friends and I went there for a drink or two. We didn't have food there, though. The ambiance was pretty dope, though. Very chill but busy. You needed reservations to sit down, which I thought was weird.. but we made the best of it. This roof top bar is located on the 9th floor of the West Inn hotel on Sugarloaf pkwy behind the Gas South Arena. Drinks were definitely on point though!

Yelp
Pretty easy-going ambiance. It's more like a lounge than a bar or club. The drinks and food were good. Nothing extraordinary, but not terrible.

Yelp
Terrible experience. They say no athletic attire but a women dressed in athletic attire with no underwear on was walking all over the restaurant taking pictures of another women in front of all of our tables. Leaks in the roof dripping all over the floor. When speaking to the manger, his response was guests are allied to do whatever they want. Tables were dirty and not cleaned properly. This is not an upscale environment in any way, Will never return. Food was mediocre and certainly not worth the price. A fast food breakfast would have been better.

Yelp
The food was great. The ambiance was so well thought out and relaxing. I imagine it being so peaceful in the evening. The service needs a lot of work. The staff seems to need some training on the steps of service. They were lacking on how to greet, how often to visit the tables, and refilling drinks. Server appearance was also lacking and not polished. Lastly, the host was beautifully dressed, but her tone was not warm or inviting. The establishment is extremely nice. There just needs to be service that matches it. I'll try again on another day.

Yelp
I can appreciate a chill spot for good drinks and dinner at this place. Great for date night, singles, after work spot (happy hour). Staff are friendly. I had the snapper meal and it was delicious.

Yelp
It was another girls night and this spot had the perfect ambiance to catch up and take Instagram worthy pics. I ordered the patacones appetizer and the coconut chicken curry, both were decent and reasonably priced. The mocktail however wasn't my favorite. It was a non-alcoholic take on a mojito with pineapple juice, but it tasted watered down and lacked sweetness or citrus flavor. Great service and overall I still highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday lunch with all my friends and they service was great. Our server, I think her name was Alissa was very kind! Food was great! So were the drinks & the overall restaurant was really cute! Inside and outside!

Yelp
I would say the one thing that is top tier here is the customer service. The first person I saw when I came inside was Bruce. He made me feel so welcome and he assisted me with information that I needed to get. Do the valet parking? Driving around in a parking garage trying to find a spot to park is exhausting. Most spots are labeled with the hotels logo so you can't park in those spots. The restaurant is like a tapas place (so it's small portions) The food is good but pricy I spent $40.00 alone on just food and I was still hungry. The rooftop part it self is very nice. We enjoy sitting outside, taking in the views. Overall we had a good experience.

Yelp
Overstory Rooftop is on the 9th Floor of the Westin Hotel. The lights hanging created a lovely atmosphere and view as the sun was setting. The service was nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good, each dish is quite memorable in its own way. Patacones (5/5) was my favorite. We also had the tostadas (2/5), anticuchos (3/5). The WAG burger (3.5/5) was definitely worth a try if you wanted something with a larger portion of food.

Yelp
This place was a quick date idea and was a nice experience. We had reservations at 8:15 and arrived at 8:24 pm and almost lost our table but the nice hosts made it happen for us. It was a Friday evening so probably more busy than normal. The menu was a Spanish style but very limited items that you've never heard of. Fancy names for chicken kabobs and empanadas as well as no fish options. I feel like every restaurant needs salmon and veggie options that are not so mixed around. The empanadas were ordered and I was comfy with that since I've have had many empanadas in my life. And these were not good, they had plantain in them which made them overly sweet instead of of savory and the fancy named chicken kebabs came on a bed of what seemed to be wet ruffles. So it's a pretty place but menu was really lacking the basics. So, if I go back I will probably stick to drinks.

Yelp
Pretty isn't everything. I came here with my boyfriend and his family for dinner, and was starving. This is definitely not the place for dinner. It's more tapas. Our server was super nice and the ambiance was pretty cool. It's situated in a new hotel the Westin up top with a good view. Other than that, I was sorely disappointed in the experience. First of all, they were out of so much stuff. I don't eat red meat, pork, none of that, so I chose the tuna. They were out. My other option was this fried plantain dish, but let me tell you...it's not real plantains like you imagine. It's literally the chips. No thanks. They were also out of every non alcoholic specialty drink they had listed in their menu. One of his family members ordered the empanadas and the server commented, good thing, you got the last one, then tells us later the kitchen is closing early because we ran out of so many things. And parking, valet is $10 unless you self park, and that's $10 if you're 2 hours or under. But weird, I see a review from 2 weeks ago saying valet was complimentary. I kind of wondered if the guy was trying to make money. We literally had to cash app him the 10 bucks. I ended up eating some yuca fries, which were okay, nothing I'd feel the urge to come again here for, in fact nothing would drive me to come here again period.

Yelp
This was my first time at overstory and it was a last minute thing (we didn't have reservations) but we went early enough to where I thought it would be okay. The server sat us down in like a corner on the side, where you couldn't see any of the view before asking if this was OK she just walked away so we didn't even sit down and we went back and got her and we're asking if there's any tables available like in the main outdoor area and she said no and walked away again, so then we went back and were like are the chairs by the fire pit reserved and she said no so we ended up sitting there. We were only planning on staying for a drink and the place was almost empty other than a few people so I don't understand why no one was trying to be accommodating on sitting us where we wanted. None of the reserved tables even got sat the entire time we were there. On the other hand the view was really pretty, the drinks were strong and not expensive and we ended up having a great time. This place would be off the charts if they could work on the service aspect.

Yelp
Service is okay. Menu offerings can absolutely be improved. Really cute venue and would absolutely return more often if the menu was better. Drinks are overpriced and just okay.

Yelp
The hype about this place on social media was a total disappointment. Made reservations. We got there, and the table we were seated on was not cleaned (bread crumbs). We requested for the server to clean the table, and she forgot. Asked another server, and he didn't care. We got the manager involved, and he cleaned the table. We ordered PATACONES appetizer, which was good. For main course we ordered LOMO SALTADO. The food came after reminding the server ( 45 mins) and was cold. Clearly, they forgot about our order. OVERALL SERVICE SUCKS MANAGER NEEDS TO RAMP UP AND NEEDS MORE TRAINING. the 1 star is for the ambiance Definitely not returning... waste of money and time

Yelp
Really beautiful ambiance but just know that's the reason that you're going . The food is sub-par, the service is pretty slow , and the drinks aren't really great. I ordered a Prosecco and it came out warm... it's really hard to mess up wine. But they managed to do it. Go for the pictures though ! Just not worth staying and eating .

Yelp
A bit loud but surprisingly comfortable. Prices are decent. Bartender is knowledgeable. Food was properly prepped and tasty! Closes early for a bar. Got the burger which was cooked properly- juicy and medium. Bars usually overcook most of their foods. Burgers typically come out either raw or well done. Overstory's burger was prepared medium and juicy. A bit messy to eat but damn tasty. For a late Friday evening, they did a great job on the food! Typically when I go to a bar, I very seldom order any of their featured cocktails. I like my cocktails complex and traditional. Surprisingly the bartender is well versed and did well at crafting my cocktail. It's was missing the traditional lemon peel but the cocktail was on par with other establishments of this nature. Overall this place is not bad for a hotel rooftop bar.

Yelp
I have a party of 12 for over a week i have been calling trying to make a reservation and i am unable to reach anyone and they don't even have the common courtesy to return my phone call !!! Bad customer service

Yelp
My husband and I received excellent service from Nate and Alisha (bartenders) . Our drinks were well made and delicious! Alisha went above and beyond to make my husband's special request for his whiskey sour with egg whites. Not once but three times. She and Nate were professional, personable, kind and gave overall great service. The bar stayed busy and they kept up with a smile. Great customer service is rare these days. We really appreciate Nate and Alisha! Our empanadas with guacamole was delicious. We will definitely be back. Only issue we had was with the parking. There was a women requesting $5 to self park before entering the garage. Which then you had to pay another $20 to exit. I understand paying to leave the garage. I understand the $5 additional charge. Seems very odd.

Yelp
The atmosphere is such a vibe but it was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Ordered our first round of drinks and server spilled them all over my pants and the table. She apologizes, and leaves one drink on the table that she just spilled the other drink into it and you can visibly tell. I had to ask her for a new drink and she acted weird about it like she didn't just spill a whole drink into it. She comes back with Clorox wipes and wipes all the drink off the table getting more on my shoes, hands me two Clorox's for my pants and leaves me sitting in a puddle of French 75. Doesn't offer to move us, someone else working there offered to move us and she was super nice. Then we move to a new table and someone else walks up saying we need to move because someone reserved this table. I had to tell her that we have reservations and got moved because our server spilled our drinks. She walked away but overall I had a really bad experience here, it was hectic and not relaxing at all like I hoped. I went to my concert with wet pants and sticky shoes for $45.

Yelp
I think if I were to reframe this as a visit to an observation deck for $25 with one complementary drink, it would go over 1000% better. Out of the six people who worked at Overstory, zero asked me how I was how my day was going. I am really sorry, but I just don't understand the tipping starting at 22% isn't part of the tipping culture having overly friendly waiters? In Europe waiters are unfriendly, but they don't get tips. I don't understand why in the US, they are unfriendly but still prompt you for a 25% tip?
