Beautiful day today, figuratively speaking not literally lol, it's my birthday! When you get my age, birthdays are not about celebration anymore, it is more about reflection. I take time to sit down and assess what I'm currently doing in life and make sure it aligns with my overall goals. So with that being said I took myself to the Overstory rooftop to eat and reflect on life!
The ambiance of this rooftop is unbelievable, it is by far its best feature. The decor, the views, everything about the hotel screams elegance. So anyone that loves to take pics for the gram would have a field day in here! You have the option of sitting indoors where they have televisions and you can catch the playoffs. They also have outdoor seating which, if the weather permits, I would recommend.
The service was great, the hostess had me at a table in a very unfavorable spot when I got there. I asked to be reseated and she made something happen for me so I'm grateful for that. Despite only being there for a few months my server Sonica was very knowledgeable, she made great suggestions for food and it was an overall pleasant experience. She even gave me a card for my birthday! (Even though a slice of cake was what I wanted lol).
Now for the food, I'll be honest the meal was underwhelming. I'm not sure if it is because I had higher expectations or because it was actually mediocre. For the record I'm in no way saying that the food was bad, just wasn't as good as I hoped. I had the pabellon empanadas as an app, this was the best thing I had came with an amazing dipping sauce. For the entree I went with the Asado, which is a skirt steak, chimichurri, and roasted potatoes. Good meal definitely filled me up! The dessert menu absolutely needs an upgrade, I had churros with three different dipping sauces, it was my birthday and churros are the last thing on my mind. They didn't even have a scoop of ice cream available, we have to do better. Overall I had a great experience at the hotel and the restaurant. I want to go back for brunch and sit outside enjoying the view.
