Google
Unfortunately closed for renovations, but i still give it 4 star as you can see it would be worth the visit. The Castle creates a really spectacular panorama of all the costal Napoli.

Unfortunately, the castle itself is currently under construction, so we couldn’t explore the interior. However, going there at night was still worth it. The scenery was beautiful with a pleasant atmosphere all around. The area is lively, with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, making it a nice spot for an evening walk or dinner.

Castel dell’Ovo was closed and surrounded by scaffolding for restoration, which ruined the view. The area underneath with restaurants felt crowded and uncomfortable, with unpleasant smells in the air. Overall, was not an enjoyable visit.

Google
Castle on the island, the third one in Naples that we saw, currently under some kind of renovation. There are lots of restaurants around it, so it's in the center of night life. Still it's another massive old monument of Naples grand history.

Google
Beautiful area but a lot of construction going on around it so difficult to get the perfect view. Lovely walk down there from the old town.

Unfortunately, the castle is under reconstruction, I wasn't able to see the inside of it. However, it's still a good idea to go at night was. The scenery was nice with a pleasant atmosphere all around. The area is lively, with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, making it a nice spot for an evening walk or dinner.

Google
it was beautiful and unbelievable an oceanfront castle. It is free to go up inside and to the roof. Another name of the castle is Egg castle (sounds very cute) The castle is rectangular in plan, approximately 200 by 45 metres at its widest and the castle is popular for newlyweds to have their wedding photos taken. Inside the castle walls are several buildings that are often used for exhibitions and other special events. if you have some extra time, there are some good views on the top.

Yelp
What a site to see and an absolute must while in Naples. My partner and I didn't arrive till the late evening but as we were walking up it was nice to see the beauty from the outside. Nicely lit in the evening many folks actually hang out on the bridge and around the grounds which made it fun and exciting. There are so many restaurants adjacent to the castle so make it a point to grab a drink and bite. After a quick search, Castel dell'Ovo has been a prison, a royal family's house, and a defense station. The name literally translates to egg castle fun fact! Don't forget this castle is on the water so it makes for some beautiful photos. Did I mention it's free to check out?!

Yelp
This castle looked more like a fortress to me, probably why it's still standing today. It's free to enter, nice for some pics from inside too. It is located on an island. The name of the castle Egg castle. It isn't much to look at, but it's a strong testament to the skills of our fore fathers to build such an edifice, which is still intact to this day.

Yelp
The name of this castle translates to egg castle. Straight face emoji... Egg? The design sure doesn't look like an egg. And I didn't find any eggs for that matter; not even the rabbit who lays them :P What can you find here? Look around... Seascapes, cityscapes, sunsets, scenic walkways, restaurants, street music. That's just on the outside. Go in and through the castle. There are several free art exhibits to see. Make sure you have enough breath and water cuz it's a hike. Your breath is primarily needed for the breathtaking views. Remember the silent moment you thought about for yourself? Get it here. The castle isn't fancy with royal furniture and knights in armour. It was a castle built for war. The canons are still in place. And that's about the fanciest antique decor you'll see.

Yelp
This is the other waterfront castle in Naples and is nowhere near as impressive as the first one we visited. You can wander through here, but to a much lesser extent. All we ended up doing here was wandering up along this ramp to a part of the castle that was closed and then wondering back down again. While impressive, it certainly didn't come anywhere near as close to the other castles we visited here.

Yelp
Entirely free to visit, Castel dell'Ovo is a seaside castle in Naples, located on the former island of Megaride, now a peninsula. Named for the Roman poet Virgil, who had a reputation in the Middle Ages as a great sorcerer, guests are invited to wander this oldest standing fortification in Naples at their leisure. Not offering much written history, but stunning views of the coast, look for plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby - though parking is limited.

Yelp
We were staying in the Chiaia area of Naples a few weeks ago and strolled over to the little island to see the Castel. A lovely view of the Bay and the little fishing boats that dotted the water, and Vesuvio, of course. It's worth a look if you're staying nearby, and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Do eat outside to soak up the surroundings. NOTE: We had lunch at a very nice restaurant on the island, recommended by our hotel. Unfortunately, I cannot recall it's name, except it began with an "S". Perhaps, with research, you can locate it. We sat waterside, surrounded by boats in the little harbor on abeautiful September day. We had the Frito Misto, perfectly fried calamari and shrimp, the best I've had anywhere Stateside -- light and crispy, served simply with simple lemon wedges. I had the pasta with bottarga in a delicate pumpkin sauce. Find this restaurant, if only to have this dish -- divine. My daughter had the risotto with seafood.

Yelp
I absolutely adore castles. The older the better. And how better does it get to find one on a tiny island (made into a penninsula by a bridge surrounded by sailboats) right in front of one of the worlds most beautifil (if disheveled and disorganized) cities. Most of the castle if free (occasional shows and some offices are off-limits), so on a sunny day like last Friday it's a wonderful place to walk and hang out. It doesn't matter if you're chilling or sight-seeing, there for a conference or just hiding in a bit of history with the sun and sea breaze, imagining you are the norman nobileman or woman who used to live there.

Yelp
As you can see the views are superb. There are a few other climbs in the area with similar views but this is the easiest. It's a great walk so skip the tram and metro. The Mediterranean breeze feels so nice up there. I have no words. Dipped my head in the water afterwards and it felt great. It's a very quiet experience. Very relaxing.

Yelp
I was not at all blown away by this castel. It is an OK photo op at best. But there some great cafes across the street.

Yelp
great way to get a different perspective on the city. its quiet and there are no crowds. even better its free! you can see Vesuvius in the distance on a clear day. read more about our Naples food tour on my site

Yelp
Not much to see inside, but it is free and worth it for the views alone. To avoid the crowds visit during the week and you'll have a great perch to hang out for a while.
