Ovolo South Yarra

It has taken me a month to do this review - we really liked our stay, the location is super convenient closed to chapel st and many shops, cafes, restaurants. Train station is only 5 mins away, making it very easy to move around. Loved the decoration, very retro and cool. We chose one of the smaller rooms (boogie city) the space was not huge but was perfect for what we needed. Bed was very comfy and had a miny fridge with snacks, drinks etc. I was a little disappointed to see that the only coffee was instant, other similar hotels would have nesspresso coffee machines. The cutlery was really lacking, only 1 little spoon etc. We had plenty of options for coffee but would have been nice to have a better coffee available in the room. We could not workout the broadcast and end up watching normal tv. I did not ask for help as it was just at the end of the evening and was not that important. Bathroom was good, the toilet area was a little see through which was not a problem for us. The shower was really good and was a decent size. We had breakfast at their restaurant lona misa and was great, full of flavour. In general we had a nice stay & would recommend.

Loved the cool retro vibe at Ovolo South Yarra! If you’re into pop art and something a bit different, this place nails it. The staff were friendly and check-in was easy.The room was clean, and well thought out—maybe on the smaller side, but still comfortable.Best of all is the location—right near Chapel Street with plenty to do just a short walk away. Perfect spot for exploring South Yarra with loads of personality.

I stayed for just one night, but had a really lovely experience. I had a small issue during check-in, but the person at the front desk was incredibly kind, attentive, and quick to help - which made all the difference. The service overall was great, and I genuinely enjoyed my short stay.

A modern hotel with a variety of rooms. Unfortunately the online description does show how small some of the rooms are. We opted for a better than the basic rate room but not the dearest. The room was very small and the bathroom had a glass wall so doing anything in the bathroom was visible to your partner! The bathroom was so small that the washbasin ws outside in the main part of the room next to the coffee making area! Quite strange!

Great location. Nice, quirky and unique boutique establishment with a variety of room types most of which are on the small side apart from their rock star 'suite' which is the only room type with a bath and is extremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Overall the hotel is definitely one of the best hotels in the area with the only other place that would give me pause to consider being The Como.

Cool retro vibe at Ovolo South Yarra. If you like pop art and something different, this is it. Staff were friendly, check-in was easy. Room was clean and stylish, maybe a bit small, but fine. free minibar and snacks Best part is the location right near Chapel Street, heaps to do walking distance. Great spot for a South Yarra stay with personality. I’ll definitely come back.

Bed was toooooo SOFT I was literally sinking in - the room is very small with little to no privacy as the bathroom is see through. The air was “on” but barely had any air coming out of it. The light below the ironing board kept flickering ever time we would move which disturbed our sleep. Customer service is also not their selling point.

Fantastically located on Toorak Road, so close to all the action of shops and cafes in South Yarra. Loved the music selection in the hotel and the decor, playing on vintage/retro vibes. The room was small, but functional (probably best for business / short-stay travellers), and the free laundry facilities on site were a big bonus. Will return for sure.
