This is the gem of Campobello Island—I wouldn’t stay anywhere else! We stayed two nights in late August, and were welcomed and catered to from the moment we arrived. Friendly owners and staff and of course, Beau, the sweetest Golden Retriever! Breakfast are generous and home cooked, plus they happily accommodated my gluten-free diet. A beautiful setting for this antique home on the water, lovely view from the Adirondack chairs on the lawn , comfortable beds, beautiful antiques—but it’s a casual elegance that makes you feel right at hone. This is the best place in the island—and close to everything. Highest recommendation!

Like another reviewer, I too have stayed in a variety of bed and breakfasts in Canada and the U.S. I would rate this B&B as being at least as lovely as the best I have stayed in over the years. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were very, very good. I appreciate that breakfast was at a fixed time--8:30 a.m. For me that is definitely not too early, and with the hearty and delicious breakfasts, my sister and I were well positioned to enjoy the day before us. We stayed two nights and enjoyed watching two movies that were made available. The view is beautiful. We were made to feel very much at home and very comfortable.

The Owen house is old. That's what drew us there in the first place. It has that comforting ambience that can't be created except by time. Filled with antiques, curiosities, and exquisite art, it's going to be a real treat if those are your inclinations. Two big bonuses are the sincere hospitality offered by owners and staff and the presence of Beau, the friendliest, kindest Golden Retriever ever. Also, you won't get a better breakfast anywhere.

I enjoyed the history and scenery. My wife did not like the room. We had a great time talking to people at breakfast. I heard a whale’s blow. Recommend 3 days/2 nights to see everything. We left on two ferries thru Deer Island.

Absolutely amazing old home with a lot of the original items in it. I believe it was built in around 1835, then moved to the present spot with many teams of oxen!! The owner and manager are both very accommodating and fun to talk to. The two women staff persons are an absolute delight! Highly recommend it!!! The view out front is amazing!!

We recently spent 2 nights at the inn and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were in suite #1, a treat with a large, comfortable king sized bed and lovely view. Joyce and Jan were very helpful in making restaurant and hiking suggestions, and Joyce's blueberry pancakes were absolutely the very best we've ever had. It's clearly the best place to stay on the island!

We have been guests in several B&B's but this jewel of a place tops them all. We were treated like royalty and the accommodations were superb! The view from the Adirondack Chairs in the front yard is spectacular. Breakfast is magnificent and personal care for this diabetic was quite special!

We have stayed at B&B's in Vermont, Cape Breton, and Nova Scotia with excellent experiences. With this in mind decided on our visit to Campobello to again overnight in a B&B. Comparable to our previous stays it was most unwelcome. Our introduction from one of the owners was to express concern over how we should avoid the wet grounds in parking our vehicle, how we should conserve water in our room both for showering and using the facilities. Plus when we obtained some ice (from the other owner) were told by the first one to be careful and not place our glasses directly on the furniture. We realize most B&B's are very old buildings and would treat them with respect. The second thing of concern was the amenities. There was bath soap and two plastic glasses for guests. No shampoo, hairdryer, iron or even a clock in the room. Did not feel comfortable to request after the comment on the glass of ice. The actual building is in a beautiful location but in very "unusual" condition. Our bedroom floor had a 6" drop and when you entered the bath had a 6" inch drop the opposite way. We did not stay a second night. However, if we had been greeted in a similar manner as other B&Bs could have overlooked the oddities. Oh! did I forget to mention breakfast was at 9a.m. When you are in a B&B where you relax and read a book etc. and go to bed probably by 9:30 at night would you need 11 hours sleep before breakfast and the start of another vacation day? I guess this was definitely a "Bed and Breakfast" without the extra character and personality of a "Welcome to our home".
